IIINC | Beatdown | Oct 27 |
A comment from IIINC:
I fell in love with this deck because of its reach, using Vampire Grace’s discard effect to activate Vampire Kingdom. This move is the core combo that makes vampires so effective against Amazonesses, Noble Knights, U.A.’s, and (my favorite matchup) Blue Eyes. Vampires have so many micromanagement options between the Hand, Deck, and Graveyard that allows for vampire deck users to take critical position and make game-winning plays.
Deck Specifics:
Teching for Masked HERO, Spellbook, Gladiator Beasts, and Buster Blader DNA decks was a bit tricky. I first used gravity lash before going mirror wall altogether. This allows less careful attack calls to cost your opponent's monsters and lose heavily in terms of battle momentum.
I didn’t see as many Yubel decks after the October 23rd patch. The core vampire strategy is usually one removal shy of completely cycling out yubel and her final form. That and brick hands made including Widespread Ruin all the more necessary.
Finally, for Morphtronic and Buster Blader DNA (again), and Silent Swordsman, I got one card: Vampire Vamp. Watch for uncannily fast, high-cost summons. They drain the card the economy and are perfect targets for Vampire Vamp.
This deck is disfavored against Gemini Synchro's and Wind-Up decks.
General:
This deck can/has/will OTK. I’ve seen dozens of careless duelists that have set only one monster their first turn without a face down spell/trap to back it up. Even one is not enough. The basic -summon Samurai Skull/Gozuki, use their effect to discard Vampire Retainer/Familiar based on your starting hand, and summon Vampire Grace with Vampire Kingdom- is just the beginning of a multitude of ways you can end the duel on turn 2. On turn 1, you’re best formation is Samurai Skull/Gozuki (Skull as you can save Gozuki’s effect later in the duel), Vampire Retainer and a Vampire Takeover.
Overall: “Timing” is key. Knowing when to pick off which card can mean victory or defeat. And of course, never give up. We, vampires, always manage to pull things through.

Rin | Bandit | Oct 28 |
A comment from Rin:
I use the usual vampire build but I tweaked it a little since I only have 1 gozuki.
Note: I add chivarly to prevent myself getting otk first turn by balance dhero (which is a tier 1 now), since most of the time have mask change in starting hand. I use bandit mainly cause it synergize with LP cost for vamp and Cyclone.

A comment from anton:
Comments:This season I took my time to play competitive, mainly because I wanted to wait till the banlist hit, altough this deck was hit in a certain way, now being unable to use "cyber style", I found the "bandit" skill quite attractive, but if I was going to use that skill, I had to make some changes to the deck, mainly I decided to add Vampire Scarlet Scourge in order to get easier access to the skill by paying the cost of 1000 lp which can setup a whole combo to win in one turn or to at least take a huge field advantage that would make your opponent almost unable to recover, the combo would be something like this:
It may seem that you need a lot of cards for this combo but the deck is highly consistent and it assured me lots of victories, if the combo doesn't comes out you can play vamps in the usual way, being a current tier 1 deck and having still access to e-con, there's not that hard to counter any other deck in the meta.

A comment from KaldurAhm:
Note: Vampires are a very consistent but expensive deck. To get the best out of it, you will need to run at least two copies of Gozuki and three copies of Samurai Skull. If not, you won't be able to consistently send retainer or familiar to the graveyard to search, which is the engine of the deck.
Use retainer to search for Vampire Kingdom or Vampire Domain (If you already have Kingdom) and use familiar to summon either Vampire Grace, Vampire Vamp or Vampire Grimson. Vampire Grace is generally a good bet because it can force the opponent to send a trap card to the grave and neutralize a treacherous traphole play and it can remove a monster, spell, or trap from the field after it's effect activates in conjunction with Kingdom.
Search for Vamp if the opponent has a 2000+ monster then use Vamp's special ability to succ it up and add the monster's attack to Vamps. This is great for matchups against blue eyes decks which rely on high level monsters. Lastly Grimson is a under appreciated card that can save your monsters from a TTH or monster destroying effect by paying 1000 LP for each monster that would have been destroyed.
Tech Cards are very basic. Wall of Destruction and Enemy Controller will slow down an opponent if you brick your opening hand. Also use enemy controller to send familiar or retainer to the grave and use the monster you now control to tribute for Grace, Vamp or Grimson.
Skill is a matter of preference but Life Boost Alpha, Sealed Tombs, Switcheroo, and Bandit are all good for vampires.

A comment from scesarin:
I like wind-up, with this banlist, people didn't use hey trunade. You can have a good defense, Hero deck has problems with juggler and Knight, you have 4000 with soldier+Knight+ skill the tie that binds.

A comment from Resk:
Went through legend with this:
Tested endless trap hell but only used 1 in 5 games, Mind scan let me avoid drowning mirror, and when to put knights in defence for ramming juggler into WoD. Really the whole deck is be destruptive as possible, knights to block big attacks, juggler to kill threats or save back row for later, with overwind for the KO.
