This pack contains a lot of Spellcaster support in the form of the Spellbook cards, therefore it is a good pack for dedicated Spellcaster players. The Gusto Archetype are able to recycle their graveyard back to deck and easily special summon their monsters, but are generally lacking in power. There are also some individual cards in this pack that could be useful for previously existing decks. Tribute Burial could greatly help any deck that struggles to tribute summon a high-leveled monster and make their deck work. Treacherous Trap Hole is a good card for decks with a low to none Trap card count being able to destroy 2 cards for the price of 1. Mage Power could potentially be a 1500 attack boost.
During either player's turn, when a Spell/Trap Card that targets this card is activated: Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. When another face-up monster you control is targeted for an attack: You can send 1 Spell/Trap Card you control to the Graveyard; change the attack target to this card.
When your opponent Special Summons a monster (except during the Damage Step): You can discard 1 card; Special Summon this card from your hand or Graveyard. There can only be 1 "Dragon Ice" on the field.
You can Tribute Summon this card in face-up Attack Position by Tributing 1 Spellcaster-Type monster. After this card was Normal Summoned, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards for the rest of that turn.
Banish 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your Graveyard and reveal 1 other "Spellbook" Spell Card in your hand to target 1 Spellcaster-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Attack Position and equip it with this card. The equipped monster's Level is increased by the Level of the monster that was banished for this card's activation. You can only activate 1 "Spellbook of Life" per turn.
Once during this turn, if you would Tribute Summon a monster that requires 2 Tributes, you can banish 1 monster from each Graveyard and Tribute Summon that monster without Tributing, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn.
The Tricky is super versatile. WND is immune to a lot of cards. Blizzard Princess can OTK. Tribute Burial is a good alternative for some 7+* monsters. Mage Power can give you a lot of raw power. Reeze lets you do a targeted control swap. Thunbolt and Griffin let you summon Reeze from deck. (Thunbolt can also summon Space-Time Police.) But I guess if it's not broken/easy to use, it's not good, eh?
Spellbook without using your brain?. i've guess spellbook is the most thinker deck of all the meta. you have to know what spellbook activate to make the combos works while sylvans are just set or summon and wait or masked hero is just masked change hahahahaha
In the beginning there was CA with their 3 min OTK combo then a new cancerous Archetype with a 3 min OTK combo appeared named Sylvans and now the unholy trinity of 3 min waiting to get OTKed has been finally shït out of Konamis a$$hole Spellbooks yeah Duel Links is all about Speedduels yeah right...
Know that if a Spellbook player doesn't finish whatever they're doing under 1 minute... then they are probably not used to their deck yet. (Or you did something to upset their strategy.) Nobody would intentional cut too close to the 3 minutes mark... unless they intend to win by boring their opponent into surrendering. I'd just read something meanwhile if I were you.
