Set Skill

[Skill] descriptionUser
Xyz Galaxy
Either of the following effects can be used once per turn by sending 1 "Galaxy" monster from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard. Each effect can only be used once per Duel, and only if you begin the Duel with a Deck (excluding Extra Deck) that contains at least 10 "Galaxy" cards and no monsters except for "Galaxy" or "Photon" monsters.

● Add 1 "Number 90: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Lord" from outside of your Deck to your Extra Deck.

● Send 1 "Galaxy" card in your hand to the Graveyard. If you Xyz Summon a "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster with 4000 or more ATK this turn, you can also Xyz Summon it by using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" you control as the material, one time only.

How to Play

Galaxy-Eye Photon Dragon & Knight

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Photons of Galaxy [UR]
You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 2 monsters with 2000 or more ATK. During either player's Battle Step, when this card battles an opponent's monster: You can target the monster this card is battling; banish both the opponent's monster and this card. At the end of the Battle Phase, return any monsters banished by this effect to the field, and if the other monster was an Xyz Monster, this card gains 500 ATK for each Xyz Material it had when it was banished.

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon's effect is itself quite powerful as non-destruction removal. The monster returns at the end of the Battle Phase, but this can give you enough time to attack directly with your other monsters. It is also apparent that Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is meant to counter Xyz monsters. Even temporarily banishing an Xyz monster will remove all of its materials, and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon gains ATK for each of these materials.

Galaxy Knight
Galaxy Knight
LIGHT Warrior ★8
ATK 2800 / DEF 2000
Heart of Xyz [UR]
If you control a "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. When you do: Target 1 "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" in your Graveyard (if possible); regardless, this card loses 1000 ATK, and if it does, Special Summon that target (if any) in face-up Defense Position. This ATK decrease lasts until the End Phase.

Can be normal summoned without tributing while you control a "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster, also you can revive "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" from your Graveyard which can allows you 1 card Xyz Summon into any Rank 8 Monsters.

Galaxy Wizard & Accellight

At the starting point, use Accellight to special summon Galaxy Wizard from your Deck to your field. After that, you can either increase Wizard's level 8 for Xyz Summoning with other Galaxy Level 8 monster or you can tribute Galaxy Wizard for searching any "Galaxy" Card aside from him.

Galaxy Wizard
Galaxy Wizard
LIGHT Spellcaster ★4
ATK 0 / DEF 1800
Heart of Xyz [SR]
Once per turn: You can increase this card's Level by 4 until the End Phase. You can Tribute this card; add 1 "Galaxy" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Galaxy Wizard".
Accellight
Accellight
Normal Spell
Heart of Xyz [R]
If you control no monsters: Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster from your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Accellight" per turn. You cannot Normal Summon/Set during the turn you activate this card.

Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon

Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon
LIGHT Dragon ★1
ATK 300 / DEF 250
Heart of Xyz [R]
You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Galaxy-Eyes" monster from your hand or Graveyard, except "Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon". You can only use this effect of "Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon" once per turn. If this card is in the Graveyard: You can target 1 "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you control; attach this card to it as an Xyz Material. You can only use this effect of "Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon" once per Duel.

Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon provides a way to quickly special summon a "Galaxy-Eyes" monster from your hand or graveyard. This can be helpful in getting your big monsters onto the field more quickly and setting up powerful Xyz summons.

Additionally, Cloudragon's effect to attach itself as an Xyz material to a "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz monster you control can be helpful in extending your plays and increasing the strength of your Xyz monsters. This effect can be used once per duel, so it is important to use it wisely and at the right moment.

Photon Stream of Destruction

Photon Stream of Destruction
Photon Stream of Destruction
Quick Spell
Kite Tenjo at lvl 10, 18 and 25 [UR]
If you control a "Galaxy-Eyes" monster: Target 1 card on the field; banish that target. You can only activate this card during your turn, unless you control "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon".

Photon Stream of Destruction is a powerful removal card that doesn't require any cost. The fact that it's a Quick-Play Spell makes it much more versatile because you can use it during the opponent's turn when they play a powerful monster. Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is your main boss monster so the second condition isn't much of a problem.

Galaxy Expedition

Galaxy Expedition
Galaxy Expedition
Normal Spell
Heart of Xyz [SR]
If you control a Level 5 or higher "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster: Special Summon 1 Level 5 or higher "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position. You can only activate 1 "Galaxy Expedition" per turn.

Great for special summoning 1 Level 8 Galaxy monster especially Photon Dragon from deck, then you can dive this special summoned monster and other Level 8 Galaxy monsters into Xyz Summon.

Galaxy Zero

Galaxy Zero
Galaxy Zero
Equip Spell
Heart of Xyz [R]
Target 1 "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position and equip it with this card. It cannot attack or activate its effects. If it would be destroyed during the Battle Phase, you can destroy this card instead. When this card leaves the field: The equipped monster's ATK becomes 0. You can only activate 1 "Galaxy Zero" per turn.

A revival tech that can allows you to special summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon or 1 of any Galaxy Monsters from your Graveyard. However, the monster's ATK will becomes 0 and nor attack or activates effect. So usually this card will only be used for revive 1 monster for Xyz Summon material for now.

Techs

Shuffle Reborn
Shuffle Reborn
Normal Spell
Warriors Unite [UR]
If you control no monsters: Target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it, but its effects are negated, also banish it during the End Phase. You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 card you control; shuffle it into the Deck, then draw 1 card, also during the End Phase of this turn, banish 1 card from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Shuffle Reborn" once per turn.

Similars to Galaxy Zero, Shuffle Reborn is a revival spell which can allows you to special summon 1 of your Galaxy monster in your Graveyard while you control no monster.

It's second effect is good synergy with Galaxy Zero. Here is some example:

  • Activate Galaxy Zero for reviving Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon and banish Shuffle Reborn from your Graveyard to shuffle Galaxy Zero into your Deck. Then, when Photon Dragon attacks your opponent's monster, you can activate Photon Dragon Effect to banish both and it will return to field during End Phase with 3000 ATK stat.

  • Activate Galaxy Zero for reviving Galaxy Wizard and banish Shuffle Reborn from your Graveyard to shuffle Galaxy Zero into your Deck. Activate Galaxy Wizard for Lvl 8 Changes or searching out "Galaxy" Card from your Deck.
Monster Reborn
Monster Reborn
Normal Spell
5th Anniversary Campaign [UR]
Target 1 monster in either player's Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Monster Reborn is a versatile and powerful card to special summon a monster from either player's graveyard can be particularly helpful in situations where you need to quickly summon a monster to turn the tide of the duel.

It can be used to revive a key "Galaxy-Eyes" monster that has been sent to the graveyard, allowing you to make powerful Xyz summons or use its effects again. Additionally, it can be used to revive a monster from your opponent's graveyard, giving you access to their resources and disrupting their strategy.

Mystical Space Typhoon
Mystical Space Typhoon
Quick Spell
Antinomic Theory [UR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [UR]
Target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that target.

Mystical Space Typhoon is a staple card whose effect of destroying a spell/trap card on the field can help remove problematic cards that may disrupt your strategy or prevent you from making plays.

Forbidden Lance
Forbidden Lance
Quick Spell
Valhalla Calling [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [UR]
Special Set Bundle Sale [UR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; until the end of this turn, that target loses 800 ATK, but is unaffected by the effects of other Spell/Trap Cards.

Forbidden Lance can provide protection for your monsters while also decreasing the ATK of your opponent's monsters. Its effect to make a monster unaffected by the effects of other spell/trap cards can help protect your key "Galaxy-Eyes" monsters from disruption by cards such as "Raigeki Break" or "Bottomless Trap Hole".

Additionally, the 800 ATK decrease can help swing battles in your favor and increase the chances of your monsters destroying your opponent's monsters in battle. This can be especially helpful when trying to get over higher ATK monsters.

Dark Hole
Dark Hole
Normal Spell
Future Circuit [SR]
Destroy all monsters on the field.

Dark Hole is a powerful card, especially when used strategically. Its effect of destroying all monsters on the field can be helpful in clearing your opponent's field and setting up for a successful Xyz summon of your "Galaxy-Eyes" monsters.

Additionally, Dark Hole can be useful in situations where your opponent has multiple powerful monsters on the field that are difficult to get rid of. By destroying all monsters on the field, you can remove their threats and create an opening for your own attacks or Xyz summons.

Full Armor Photon Dragon & Cipher Blade Dragon

Both Galaxy-Eyes Xyz monsters shared similar effect which has removal effect regardless monster or spell/trap. However, Full Armor Photon Dragon will only able to destroy Face-Up card whereas Cipher Blade does for either.

Both of these card can be Xyz Summon by using a "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster means that you can Xyz Summon directly onto Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon which will gives them max. 3 materials for activating their effect.

Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Heart of Xyz [UR]
3 Level 8 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, except "Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can target up to 2 Equip Cards equipped to this card; attach them to this card as Xyz Materials. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it.
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★9
ATK 3200 / DEF 2800
Heart of Xyz [SR]
3 Level 9 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 8 "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. If this Xyz Summoned card is destroyed by your opponent's attack or card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can target 1 "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Phantom of Rebellion [UR]
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; monsters you control cannot attack your opponent directly for the rest of this turn, except this card, also take control of the targeted monster until the End Phase, but while this effect is applied, it has its effects negated, its ATK becomes 3000, also its name becomes "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon".

3000 ATK beater with an effect that lets you temporarily control your opponent's monster. Increasing the ATK to 3000 just means that you can choose a low ATK monster your opponent controls to help as a beater.

Its effect works best if your opponent has at least 2 monsters on the field. If your opponent has another 3000 ATK monster on the field, you can crash it with the one you took control of. If your opponent has another low ATK monster then you can potentially still OTK since the monster you took control of isn't attacking directly.

Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon

Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 4500 / DEF 3000
Eternal Stream [UR]
3 Level 8 monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as any of its Materials: Negate the effects of all other face-up cards currently on the field. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; detach all Xyz Materials from monsters your opponent controls, then this card gains 500 ATK for each, also it can attack up to that many times during each Battle Phase this turn.

Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is a Big Beater that has Face-Up cards negation effect while it is Xyz Summoned using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as any of its materials.

Besides that, this boss can detach 1 Xyz Material from itself to gain Multiple Attack & ATK Boost effect according to the number of Xyz Materials from monsters your opponent control. This effect not only great for countering Xyz Monster but also deals massive amount of battle damage with minimum 5000 ATK stat.

Other Extra Decks

Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison
Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison
DARK Rock ★8
ATK 2100 / DEF 2700
Infinite Ray [R]
Fantastic Arc [R]
2 Level 8 monsters
Gains 100 ATK and DEF for each monster in the GYs. Once per turn: You can detach 1 material from this card; until the end of your opponent's next turn, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects, also neither player can Special Summon monsters from the GYs.

Sanaphond is another powerful Rank-8 you can make. The detach effect is also very powerful, doubling as both protection and graveyard control. Be careful because this also prevents you from reviving "Galaxy" monster using Galaxy Knight's effect, Galaxy Zero or Shuffle Reborn.

Link Disciple
Link Disciple
LIGHT Cyberse
ATK 500 / DEF 1
Link Revolution [R]
1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster
You can Tribute 1 monster this card points to; draw 1 card, then place 1 card from your hand on the bottom of the Deck. You can only use this effect of "Link Disciple" once per turn.

Link Disciple allows you to draw a card and cycle a card from your hand. It can also as a Filter Draw Strategy to tribute 1 monster this card points to; usually used to get rid of Knightmare Corruptor Iblee that was special summoned to your field by the opponent.

Knightmare Mermaid
Knightmare Mermaid
WATER Fiend
ATK 1000 / DEF 1
Card Trader [UR]
1 "Knightmare" monster, except "Knightmare Mermaid"
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card; Special Summon 1 "Knightmare" monster from your Deck, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Mermaid" once per turn. Monsters on the field lose 1000 ATK/DEF, unless they are co-linked.

Used as LINK Summon Tech by using Knightmare Corruptor Iblee that is special summoned by the opponent to your field due to her own effect. Its 1000 ATK/DEF Stat Reduction Effect also can be helpful for weakening your opponent's monsters and making them easier to destroy in battle.

Noted by RnG:

"Create a deck with 6-7 cards which can resurrect and always keep in mind that the 1st priority is to try to summon 2 XYZ monsters per turn (if possible).

For example:

  • Use 2nd skill --> Shuffle Reborn -> Bring back Galaxy-Eyes Dragon -> XYZ to Full Armor Dragon --> Use the effect of Full Armor Dragon (if possible) -> XYZ to Cipher Blade Dragon -> Detatch Full Armor Dragon with the effect of Cipher Blade Dragon -> Use Galaxy Zero -> Brinh back Full Armor Dragon -> If Cloudragon exists in Graveyard then use its effect to use Full Armor Dragon effect otherwise instantly XYZ to 2nd Cipher Blade Dragon and use its effect."

so what are the weaknesses of this deck

It's kinda sucks that you have to rely normal summoning Galaxy wizard and one Galaxy expidition on your opening hand tho. Can't do the search since you have to tribute it. So you'll leave no monster onboard.

I play infernoids and I'm pretty sure all Galaxy decks I've faced have surrendered. I just banish their Galaxy-Eyes and it's gg. So I'd say anything that messes with the graveyard, especially losing access to the Galaxy-Eyes.

Over half the deck being spells?
Very few monsters?
Skill spoon feeding you everything you need?
Big beaters?

Where have I seen this before

it is a strong indication that this deck relies on skill.
Without the skill, it loses consistency, even becomes unplayable.

Aren't 6 revival Spells a bit too much? It sounds very bricky.

Nope, there an 85% of opening at least 1 galaxy monster if you go first. The skill does the rest

more like 90%

There's a 85.24% to have any monster in your starting hand (i.e. first 4 cards).

If you go second, the chance increases to 91.70% because you'll get an additional 5th card.

Another skill carried deck that will die 1 nanosecond after skill nerf

You have to admit that it's a good marketing strategy: People buy the new cards as long as the deck is good. And when Konami releases new cards they can just nerf the old skill, release a new skill and people will buy the new cards.
