well it depends on where the SSD material comes from....since this card doesn't prevent your opponent from bringing out Stardust, Formula, and SSD from the Extra Deck.

Thanks for the free lava golem. Rank 8 summon is too easy now.

The release of rank 8 is one more important hit against Lava Golem and stall burn. Any deck that special summons level 8s easily when given a Lava Golems can simply overlay it into this card and it’s gone and captured into the Xyz so they can’t even retrieve it with Pot of Dichotomy so quickly. Alternatively any deck can also do this to get rid of Lava Golem by running the Megalith Promotion trap or teching Barbaros into their level 4 monster options decks.

burn decks deal half damage in this game. lava golem is basically garbage now

true 1000%. mine burn decks totally wiped out. the conclusion :

if it just meta decks then konami would just limited the usage of the card.

but if it F2p card. either nerf the card itself or banned

It’s not dead as long as stall exist, and the amount of stall is extreme. The effect damage from Lava Golem is halved but he can be used to stall as taking away opponent’s important monster cards and can cause them to deck out.
