How to Use

Harpie Monsters

Harpie Oracle
Harpie Oracle
WIND Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1300 / DEF 1400
Tag Duel Tournament [UR]
This card's name becomes "Harpie Lady" while on the field or in the GY. You can only use each of these effects of "Harpie Oracle" once per turn.
● If you control a Level 5 or higher "Harpie" monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand.
● If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 Spell/Trap from your GY to your hand, that specifically lists the card "Harpie Lady Sisters" in its text, during the End Phase of this turn.

The "Level 5 or higher Harpie monster" mainly refers to Cyber Slash in this Deck, so Oracle can be Special Summoned when you have it on the field.

The search effect effectively lets you recover any of their support Spells. Most notably you can recover Elegant Egotist, preparing to make another Cyber Slash with Oracle as one of the materials. Harpie's Feather Rest is another good option since Oracle's Special Summoning condition lines up with the condition to maximize Rest.

Harpie Channeler
Harpie Channeler
WIND Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1300
Sign of Harpies [SR]
You can discard 1 "Harpie" card; Special Summon 1 "Harpie" monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position, except "Harpie Channeler". You can only use this effect of "Harpie Channeler" once per turn. While you control a Dragon-Type monster, this card's Level becomes 7. This card's name becomes "Harpie Lady" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard.

Channeler is an Extra Deck play enabler. Generally, you use her effect to Special Summon another Level-4 Harpie from the Deck then use both monsters to either Synchro Summon into Cyber Slash, or go into your Rank-4 toolbox.

Harpie Harpist
Harpie Harpist
WIND Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 600
Sign of Harpies [SR]
This card's name becomes "Harpie Lady" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard. You can only use each of these effects of "Harpie Harpist" once per turn.
● When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Winged Beast-Type monster you control (other than this card) and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; return them to the hand.
● During the End Phase, if this card is in the Graveyard because it was sent there this turn: You can add 1 Level 4 Winged Beast-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand.

Harpist is mostly used for her second effect. Specifically you Special Summon Harpist with Channeler's effect, then use both monsters to make Cyber Slash. Harpist's search effect will then activate during the End Phase.

The first effect can be used for on-demand removal in the right situation. This is assuming you have Harpist on hand and another Harpie on board, exactly when your opponent has a powerful monster you want to get rid of.

Harpie Perfumer
Harpie Perfumer
WIND Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1300
Sign of Harpies [SR]
This card's name becomes "Harpie Lady" while on the field or in the GY. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand that specifically lists the card "Harpie Lady Sisters" in its text. If you controlled a Level 5 or higher "Harpie" monster when you activated this effect, you can also add a second such card, with a different name from the first. You can only use this effect of "Harpie Perfumer" once per turn.

Perfumer has two search targets: Harpies Feather Rest and Elegant Egotist.

Perfumer can be an Extra Deck enabler when comboed with Elegant Egotist. First summon Perfumer then fetch Elegant Egotists. Activate Elegant Egotist to Special Summon Harpie Lady 1 from the Deck. With both monsters you can proceed to make Cyber Slash. So generally if you don't have Cyber Slash on the field yet, fetch Elegant Egotist with Perfumer.

If Cyber Slash is present on the field, Perfumer allows you to search both its search targets. This is especially good because Harpies Feather Rest works best if Cyber Slash is on the field.

Harpie Lady 1
Harpie Lady 1
WIND Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1300 / DEF 1400
Mai Valentine at level 35 [SR]
Card Trader [SR]
(This card's name is always treated as "Harpie Lady".)
All WIND monsters gain 300 ATK.

Harpie Lady 1 is the simplest of all Harpie monsters, because she just gives a slight ATK boost to all WIND monsters. But, it is also because of this simplicity that she is the Main Deck Harpie most worth keeping on the field. Additionally Harpie Lady 1 is the only monster in this Deck you can Special Summon with Elegant Egotist.

Cyber Harpie Lady
Cyber Harpie Lady
WIND Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 1300
Blades of Spirits [R]
Sign of Harpies [R]
(This card's name is always treated as "Harpie Lady".)

Cyber Harpie Lady is statwise the strongest Main Deck Harpie Lady. Basically she is the Harpie we run as a beater.

Harpie Support

Harpies Hunting Ground
Harpies Hunting Ground
Field Spell
Blackstorm Rising [SR]
All Winged Beast-Type monsters gain 200 ATK and DEF. When any "Harpie Lady" or "Harpie Lady Sisters" are Normal or Special Summoned: The player who conducted the Summon targets 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that target.

The archetype's Field Spell lets you pop enemy backrow for free when you summon a Harpie Lady. But it has the odd trait of forcing the destruction effect, so if no other backrow is present you'll be forced to destroy one of yours, or even destroy this card. Because of this, you should be careful to summon your Harpie first before activating this Field Spell if you go first.

Harpies Feather Rest
Harpies Feather Rest
Normal Spell
Special Pack Vol. 02 [R]
Duelist Chronicle: Battle City Showdown! [R]
Tag Duel Tournament [R]
Target 3 “Harpie Lady” and/or “Harpie Lady Sisters” in your GY; shuffle them into the Deck, then draw 1 card. If you controlled a Level 5 or higher “Harpie” monster when you activated this effect, draw 2 cards instead. For the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except WIND monsters. You can only activate 1 "Harpie's Feather Rest" per turn.

Harpies Feather Rest is your in-archetype draw engine; and if Cyber Slash is on board you effectively get a free card. Returning Harpie monsters to the Deck is good because you don't have any way of recycling the graveyard.

Elegant Egotist
Elegant Egotist
Normal Spell
Mai Valentine at Lvl 7 and 21 [R]
Mai Valentine's starter deck [R]
Ranked Rewards [R]
If "Harpie Lady" is on the field: Special Summon 1 "Harpie Lady" or "Harpie Lady Sisters" from your hand or Deck.

Elegant Egotist in this Deck only used to Special Summon Harpie Lady 1. Do this if you need another body on board to use as Synchro or Xyz material, or even if you just want Harpie Lady 1's ATK boost.

Swallow's Nest

Swallows Nest
Swallows Nest
Quick Spell
Aerial Assault [SR]
Tribute 1 face-up Winged Beast-Type monster; Special Summon 1 Winged Beast-Type monster from your Deck with the same Level the Tributed monster had on the field.

Swallow's Nest is a versatile card to mix into most Winged Beast Decks. Aside from the combo to summon Dark Simorgh mentioned in a previous section, Swallow's Nest also helps unbrick your hand or generally just help enable your Extra Deck combos. If Hapist or Harpie Lady 1 is the only monster you have on hand, you can summon it and then target it with Swallow's Nest to Special Summon Channeler.

Some more ways to use Swallow's Nest include:

  1. Special Summon Harpie Lady 1 from the Deck for a quick stat boost.
  2. Special Summon Perfumer from the Deck while you control Cyber Slash, to maximize her search effect.
  3. Activating Swallow's Nest during the Battle Phase to swap out a monster that has already attacked. Good for pushing damage.

Extra Decks

Cyber Slash Harpie Lady
Cyber Slash Harpie Lady
WIND Winged Beast ★8
ATK 2600 / DEF 1400
Sign of Harpies [UR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 "Harpie" monster you control as a Tuner. This card's name becomes "Harpie Lady" while on the field or in the GY. When a Spell/Trap Card or effect is activated (except during the Damage Step) (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster your opponent controls or 1 "Harpie" monster you control; return it to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Cyber Slash Harpie Lady" once per turn.

Cyber Slash has a unique Synchro Summoning condition that allows us to run no Tuners in this Deck. Additionally, since any Harpie Lady can act as the Tuner, summoning Cyber Slash is made much more consistent. Cyber Slash's stats are nothing special, but her effect lets you bounce one enemy monster if a Spell/Trap is activated. This can also be triggered when your Spell/Trap is activated; so best case you activate Harpie Feather Rest, draw two cards and bounce an enemy monster.

Abyss Dweller
Abyss Dweller
WATER Sea Serpent ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1400
Photons of Galaxy [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn.

Abyss Dweller is an anti-Graveyard interaction tech, intended to hinder Decks that activate a ton of effects from the graveyard. It's best to activate this at the start of the opponent's turn, so make sure to toggle Chain to "ON" and activate Abyss Dweller's effect during the opponent's Draw Phase.

Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger
Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger
WIND Dragon ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 2100
Infinite Ray [SR]
2 Level 7 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 5 or 6 Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.
Steelswarm Roach
Steelswarm Roach
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 0
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
During either player's turn, when a Level 5 or higher monster would be Special Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy it.

Roach is great for monster suppresion, much like a Trap Hole card. When your opponent summons a boss monster, use Roach's effect to immediately destroy it. This is an especially good counter against Synchro Decks. But most of the time, just Roach's presence on the field is enough to deter the opponent from making big monsters.

Number 91: Thunder Spark Dragon
Number 91: Thunder Spark Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 2000
Infinite Ray [SR]
3 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn, you can activate 1 of these effects.
● Detach 3 Xyz Materials from this card; destroy all other face-up monsters on the field.
● Detach 5 Xyz Materials from this card; destroy all cards your opponent controls.

Summon Thunder Spark Dragon and use its effect for a field wipe. Gets rid of your opponent's entire board set up, and especially punishing to opponents that overcommit their board.

Number 70: Malevolent Sin
Number 70: Malevolent Sin
DARK Insect ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 1200
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3.

Malevolent Sin is an anti-Xyz tech. Summon Malevolent Sin and use its effect to temporarily banish an enemy Xyz monster. The Xyz monster will return with no materials attached to it.

Digital Bug Corebage
Digital Bug Corebage
LIGHT Insect ★5
ATK 2200 / DEF 1800
Infinite Ray [R]
2 or more Level 5 LIGHT Insect-Type monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by detaching 2 Xyz Materials from a Rank 3 or 4 Insect-Type Xyz Monster you control, then using that Xyz Monster as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; shuffle it into the Deck. Once per turn, if the battle position of a monster(s) on the field is changed (except during the Damage Step): You can attach 1 Insect-Type monster from your Graveyard to this card as Xyz Material.
Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch
Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch
LIGHT Psychic ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 2200
Voltage of the Metal [R]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per Chain, during either player's turn, if 2 or more monsters with the same name are on the field: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; choose 1 monster among those with the same name, and destroy all other monsters with that name. While this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot Summon monsters with the same name as any of the monster(s) chosen for this card's effect. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can send 2 "Heraldic Beast" monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard.

Heraldry Patriarch is great against mirror matches. Harpies all change their name to "Harpie Lady" so Heraldry Patriarch's first effect can be used for removal, even during the opponent's turn. Then Heraldry Patriarch will prevent the opponent from reviving Harpies because they're all treated as "Harpie Lady" while in the Graveyard.

Other Useful Cards

Simorgh of Darkness

Simorgh of Darkness
Simorgh of Darkness
DARK Winged Beast ★8
ATK 2900 / DEF 2000
Infernity Destruction [UR]
While face-up on the field, this card is also WIND-Attribute. You can only use each of the following effects of "Simorgh of Darkness" once per turn.
● If you Tribute Summon a DARK or WIND monster: You can Special Summon this card from the GY (if it was there when the monster was Tribute Summoned) or hand (even if not).
● When a Spell/Trap Card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 WIND Winged Beast monster; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card.

Simorgh of Darkness acts as the high ATK boss monster this Deck lacks. Summon it by comboing Level Augmentation and Swallow's Nest; this method is very consistent because all your other Main Deck monsters are Level-4. First summon a Harpie monster then use Level Augmentation to increase its Level by 4. Then target it with Swallow's Nest to summon Dark Simorgh from the Deck.

Dark Simorgh will then sit on the field as your beater, and can also negate enemy backrow at the cost of tributing Harpies.

Harpies' Pet Dragon

Harpies Pet Dragon
Harpies Pet Dragon
WIND Dragon ★7
ATK 2000 / DEF 2500
Mai Valentine [SR]
Ranked Rewards [SR]
This card gains 300 ATK and DEF for each "Harpie Lady" on the field.

Glife the Phantom Bird

Glife the Phantom Bird
Glife the Phantom Bird
WIND Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1500 / DEF 1500
Dimension of the Wizards [SR]
You can discard this card; add 1 "Golden Castle of Stromberg" from your Deck to your hand. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 card in your opponent's Spell & Trap Zone; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Glife the Phantom Bird" once per turn.

Glife isn't part of this archetype but its effect works well with this Deck's playstyle. Being a WIND Winged-Beast means Glife will also benefit from most of the same support. The often comes to play when you Special Summon Glife from the Deck with Swallow's Nest for quick backrow removal.

Other Harpie Techs

Hysteric Sign
Hysteric Sign
Continuous Spell
Sign of Harpies [R]
When this card is activated: Add 1 "Elegant Egotist" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. During the End Phase of the turn this card was sent from the field or hand to the Graveyard: Add up to 3 "Harpie" cards with different names from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Hysteric Sign" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Activating Hysteric Sign to fetch Elegant Egotist can save you in a pinch, if you really need to make an Extra Deck play but don't have the enablers to do so. Such as when Harpist or Harpie Lady 1 is the only monster you have on hand.

Hysteric Sign also comes with a very powerful search effect. One way to trigger this is by destroying Hysteric Sign on your field with Harpie's Hunting Ground. Or you can discard it as cost for generic techs like Karma Cut.

Hysteric Party
Hysteric Party
Continuous Trap
Blackstorm Rising [R]
Selection Box Vol. 03 [R]
Sign of Harpies [R]
Activate this card by discarding 1 card; Special Summon as many copies of "Harpie Lady" as possible from your Graveyard. When this face-up card leaves the field, destroy those monsters.

Hysteric Party instantly swarms your field with monsters. Because most Harpie monsters are treated as Harpie Lady in the graveyard, you'll have a ton of revival targets. This Trap can revive multiple Harpie Ladies for you to use as Synchro material, or even directly revive Cyber Slash Harpie Lady.

Other Extra Decks

Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 2300
Shark Fang [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls; change it to face-down Defense Position. If a "Djinn" Xyz Monster you control would be destroyed, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from that monster instead.

Maestroke can change enemy monsters face-down which is a good way to turn off lasting effects and expose weak DEF stats. Maestroke also comes with an inherent protection effect to boost his own survivability.

Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

Diamond Dire Wolf gets rid of itself along with any enemy card. Use this as on-demand removal against a problematic card, or secure your attacks by getting rid of enemy backrow.

Daigusto Emeral
Daigusto Emeral
WIND Rock ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 800
Sign of Harpies [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then activate 1 of these effects.
● Target 3 monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle all 3 into the Deck, then draw 1 card.
● Target 1 non-Effect Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.

Emeral will only be used for its first effect. This effectively acts as a mini Harpie Feather Rest without the Special Summoning restriction.

Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack
Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack
WIND Machine ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 2200
Sign of Harpies [UR]
2 Level 7 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 2 "Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 3/ATK 0/DEF 0). While you control a Token, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 "Mecha Phantom Beast" monster, then target 1 card on the field; destroy that target. This card cannot attack during the turn you activate this effect.
Evilswarm Ouroboros
Evilswarm Ouroboros
DARK Dragon ★4
ATK 2750 / DEF 1950
Selection Box Vol.04 [SR]
3 Level 4 monstersOnce per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then activate 1 of these effects. Each effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.
● Target 1 card your opponent controls; return that target to the hand.
● Send 1 random card from your opponent's hand to the Graveyard.
● Target 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard; banish that target.

HarpieGorilonHarpie Gorilon2
IGN: Gorilon, Skill: Harpies' Hunting Ground, Date Submitted: May 20

Note by Gorilon:

Harpies Atmosphere: Standard harpie deck, with the addition of the atmosphere functioning as a trump card to deal with monsters you don't want to send back to the hand with cyber slash; like samurai head but specially fire king Avatar Garunix, as returning it to the hand grants the enemy to destroy it next turn with fire king island/Arvata. I found out to do so much better against fire kings with this card than without it. Also since i'm running a 23 card deck i found out that it doesn't brick very often, and its easy to special summon in a harpies deck. You just generally don't want it in your starting hand as it can interfere with the standard channeler/feather rest combo as it needs to banish the monsters used for its special summon. Also it's useful for OTK if the enemy summons a big monster like BEWD or galaxy eyes photon dragon. Head judging is used in this deck as its effect is game breaker 50% of the time. Lightning vortex is used to deal with sabre dancer as well as thunder spark dragon.

IGN: War.ior, Skill: Harpies' Hunting Ground, Date Submitted: May 26

Noted by War.ior:

It's easy to climb in the rank with harpies if they have forbidden lance and swallow's nest plus backrow removal of harpies hunting ground because they let harpies deal with backrow cards of the opponent which can disrupt this deck strategy. I played it at 30 cards version because the 20 cards don't have lots of ways to deal with other strong decks. Also monster negating cards such as head judging and forbidden chalice makes this deck even more competitive. I use harpies hunting ground skill instead of the tie that binds because I like to play it using mai valentine and mai skill already gives you a card advantage because hhg is face up at the start of duel, even if i own a copy of hhg i didn't included it in my deck since you got it on mai's skill which could make another room for others cards to be included in the deck. Oracle is really important in this deck to recycle cards such as hhg. Overall it's the most fun deck I ever played in duel links pvp.

This deck is a must ban. Why the 🔥 it can still allow to run everything without limit? I would have put at least 3 cards in into limit 2. Specifically limit all Feather Rest, Egotist & Perfumer!
