Evaluation

RatingA-

Pros

  • Banishes an opponent’s monster.
  • Banishes from your opponent’s graveyard.

Cons

  • Requires a discard cost.

Tips

  • Very useful against archetypes with monsters that change their name in the graveyard. For example Skull Servant, Cyber Dragon, and Dark Magician.

Raigeki Break

Karma Cut is generally a superior version of Raigeki Break because banishing is more powerful than simple destruction and because Karma Cut can disrupt your opponent’s graveyard.

Fabled

The discarding a Fabled monster as the cost of Karma Cut can trigger their effects.

Barely see this card anymore (except with blue eyes since it's the boss card of the deck)

I guess it's redundant if your skill already gives you free disruption and board presence just by tapping a yellow button

This is getting limited to 2 soon just think about it: very strong, the best of the discard bunch, they made it a SR when it could have been UR easily, it is on a minibox when this is mainbox material, why?

I'm getting bad vibes from this card I won't dig for more than 2 copies

Did you really compared this card to Raigeki? Are you rookie rank? This card can shutdown most decks that have cards with similar names in the gy. Banishing is too strong, Raigeki is only good to remove backrow ans thats it. Karma Cut is insane, as a Blue Eyes and DM player, getting Karma Cut on my Blue eyes/DM and seeing all cards getting banishes is just an insta loss.

"getting Karma Cut on my Blue eyes/DM and seeing all cards getting banishes is just an insta loss."

aren't there some cards that as a cost or effect can shuffle back those cards?

Just fueled against a D-Hero user. I have a question about the ruling:

I Synchro Summoned Azure-Eyes, and it’s effect activates. In response, my opponent chains Karma Cut. Because Azure-Eyes protects against targeting, which Karma Cut does, shouldn’t my Azure-Eyes have been protected?
<< Anonymous

Azure-Eyes effect didn't resolve yet, so...
<< Anonymous

Karma Cut resolved first in that chain link, then followed by Azure-Eyes' effect. The protection would still linger for other dragon-type monsters on your field but it was too late for Azure-Eyes itself.
Candend
This is frequently used in ranked now. The effect is basically dark core but why no one plays dark core. Dark core is spell so it can be activated faster. The cost also the same discarding 1 card.

Faruk Aksoy Reply
Exactly. Just as you said,Dark Core is also useful in Valkyrie deck. The best way to use Dark Core in Valkyrie deck is to replace it with Valkyrie's Embrace because Dritte can search it.

I wonder why normal spell card exist then, the new normal spell effect has speed spell 4 effect

Not KoG Reply
Traps are better than spells because you activate them anytime on the opponent's turn.

Not all opponents have MST or even CC mind you.

if only there were spells able to be activated in your opponet's turn bro
they'd be cool I'd call them quick play spells or something
Anonymous
Will they ever have the balls to limit this card? It shouldn't even hurt Blue-Eyes.

It's 🔥 when Harpies abuses this card to search when they're already hiding behind every staple in the game.

The limit system in duel links had the potential to finally achieve what everyone wanted: m€m€ decks able to run all staples necessary to compete while op decks get deprived from them without really destroying said decks

Alas their greediness got the best of them for nth time and the list is became a mechanism to push sales

Omg blue eyes boss monsters

nasty in blue eyes deck, or deck that use monster eff in GY, regular deck has trouble dealing with this trap

We still don't have any limit 1 staple. This should be the best card to fit into that status.

Drowning M.F. is a battle trap that can be taken out or removed.

Also, Konami usually (if not always) hits cards when the majority of users start using one or more broken card(s) and/or deck(s).

how? like this?
"Discard 1 card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; banish HALF of that target.."

That already reduces its power by 50%
<< Anonymous
MangakaJ96 Reply
Karma Cut is a necessary evil to take care of problematic monsters like ones that can use GY effects or the kind that can't be destroyed by card effects.
<< Anonymous(MangakaJ96)

That isn't a valid reason when Konami knowingly made said monsters broken enough just to give players a reason to buy this trap.

It's like the same company spreads the poison first so that you have to buy his cure.
