Naturia monsters can swarm the field quickly thanks to Naturia Pumpkin and Ties of the Brethren and then utilize Firm as the EARTH or Beatdown! to boost their ATK and overpower the opponent.
A deck that used to be almost as common as Fur Hire is nowadays recently received a new tool in Naturia Horneedle from the last Mini Box, Empire of Scarlet, making it viable again in the current meta.

Beatdown! Boosts the ATK of face-up attack position monsters you control by 300 per level 5 or more monsters you control. You can only use the skill once per turn. | Seto Kaiba |
Ties of the Brethren’s cost is quite high, but it does allow you to get a full board of Naturia monsters quickly. Ideally you want to get out a copy of Naturia Horneedle, if it’s not on the field already, especially if your opponent is playing Fur Hire.
Three Naturia monsters are not quite as threatening as three Geargia monsters, but, they can become quite powerful under Gaia Power.
Ties of the Brethren can only Special Summon monsters with a different name from the monster you targeted and they have to have the same Level, which is why there is no Naturia Hydrangea or Naturia Stag Beetle in this deck.
When your opponent Special Summons a monster, by tributing another Naturia monster you control, you can destroy the Special Summoned monster with Naturia Horneedle.
In the Fur Hire matchup this would leave the opponent with only the first monster they have summoned on the field, a Donpa, Marksman Fur Hire, a Recon, Scout Fur Hire, a Beat, Bladesman Fur Hire or a Seal, Strategist Fur Hire, which are definitely easier to deal with than a Dyna, Hero Fur Hire or a Wiz, Sage Fur Hire; if you have another monster to tribute, you can also stop a Mayhem Fur Hire.
Horneedle can prevent your opponent from summoning Amazoness Queen: it would end up being destroyed by its effect.
Floodgate Trap Hole can slow down Fur Hire by locking them face-down when they are summoned; it’s similar to Paleozoic Canadia, but its effect is permanent.
When Normal Summoned, Naturia Pumpkin can Special Summon another Naturia monster from your hand; you can use Pumpkin’s effect and then Special Summon Hydrangea from your hand with its own effect.
The previous version of the deck used to run Naturia Stag Beetle, but the risk of bricking was quite high.
After sending a Naturia monster to the GY with Horneedle’s effect, you can Normal Summon Marron, send another Naturia from the Deck to the GY and then activate its effect and draw a card. This will make it easier to draw into your backrow or backrow removal.
Amazoness can be difficult to deal with, it’s usually heavy in terms of backrow and Amazoness Onslaught can banish your monsters: running some quick removal, that can also be used during the Battle Step (Cosmic Cyclone), is necessary.
Naturia can easily get multiple monsters on the field, so Enemy Controller can be used offensively after Hey, Trunade! for an easy OTK.
The deck can really be completed by any other form of backrow of your choice: Wall of Disruption is great against any deck that focuses on swarming like Fur Hire and the new Vampire.
Card | Explanation |
---|---|
Naturia Stag Beetle | Having two high Level monsters is risky: current decks would leave you no time to recover, but Stag Beetle does offer some very high stats. |
Forbidden Chalice | Easy effect negation without destruction is great in the current meta and Chalice can be useful in other situations too, like negating the effect of a Lava Golem to buy a turn. |
Exterio's Fang | This card can negate an opponent’s Spell or Trap Card activation, which is great, but it does nothing for Monster Card effects. |
Treacherous Trap Hole | You can decide to decrease the number of Trap Cards or even take them all out for this one: Treacherous is one of the best cards in the game. You can run multiple copies and chain a Cosmic Cyclone to the first one to not send it to the GY. |
