It's not about getting good. Stall decks exploit the fact that most decks can't pack very much backrow removal because they need to use the limited deck space for combo cards to be able to compete with other meta decks. Not to mention traps are much more powerful than backrow removal in terms of advantage, so you often still lose out even if you try to counter it.
