Well the question gives you two options as to who can take the damage, so by responding "who the hell else" suggests a you can't read or b you're dumb af
The wording on the card is a bit confusing it should say "the controller of this card" but since it doesn't it's the person reading (IE:the controller not original owner)that takes the damage
