Ancient Gear Golem

Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem

Vellian Crowler is the head professor and department chair of techniques at duel academy. Initially started out as the antagonist of the show, Crowler wanted to expel Jaden from the academy, attempting several times. After losing the duel against Jaden, Crowler eventually had a change of heart, becoming more of a respectable teacher, as well as serving as a comedic relief.

Using the Ancient Gear archetype, which are mostly Machine-Type monsters, Crowler's playstyle revolves around trying to summon gear golem as soon as possible. This allows him to attack without without getting stopped by spell/trap cards, and difficult to go against since it also inflicts pierce damage.

Because the decks are about to take a huge nerf with the cyber angel ritual spell limitation coming in a few days.

Once that happens, he will appear in the hub world outside the gate. He will give you a lv 20 Ra Yellow challenge. Defeat Crowler’s Lv 20 challenge to unlock him (I hate how the game says absolutely nothing about this)

In Crowlers default deck is a 2* card "Ancient Gear" The card's effect says "If you control an Ancient Gear you can special summon this card from your hand" this effect . .could be powerful, but it doesn't work.

The description is sloppy on the developers end. What it means is if you have “ancient gear” on the field (the monster card, not the monster archetype), you can special summon another one. Unless you special summon a gear on the field through some other means (like magnet circle LV2), then the ability is worthless anyways.
