Tips, Related Cards, Rulings

Since Ancient Gear Soldier is among the weaker monsters in the Ancient Gear Archetype, it is recommended to summon him with Middle Age Mechs skill that will provide Ancient Gear Castle on the field, and then tribute it into either Ancient Gear Engineer or Ancient Gear Beast.
However, if you are looking for a quick assault format, this card has powerful properties to suppress your opponent’s Spell/Trap during Battle Phase, you just need to properly enhance its ATK stats to stay longer on the field.
Do take note that before/during attack declaration, your Ancient Gear monsters are still susceptible to cards like Forbidden Chalice, which will negate your Ancient Gear monsters suppression effect until your End Phase, in which this will allow your opponents to respond with their face-down Spell/Traps during your Damage step.

Seems bugged. Even if you use a card to stop it from being able to attack (mask of the accursed), traps like drain shield and magical arm shield cannot activate

.....You're trying to use a trap that requires opponent's monster to attack, against a monster that cannot attack?

Are you really that dumdum?

If only this had better stats? Nah. With his skill and Gaia Power field spell we will have a 2100 att monster with anti spell arrows.
