Evaluation

Rating10 / 10

One of the staple cards that works very well in any kinds of decks in current card pool due to capability of playing two roles: defending your monsters from being attacked and being a material for ritual summon when it is in the graveyard.

Pros

  • Can be used from your hand and it cannot be negated by most spell/trap cards.
  • Can be used to ritual summon from the graveyard.

Cons

Can be negated by Overwhelm

Tips, related cards, skills

Use it to block enemy monsters from destroying you and ritual summon Relinquished or special summon Dark Necrofear by banishing it from the graveyard.

If you think this is the worst, you should play the real life version of Yugioh.

We have various hand traps that when combined, they pretty much negate everything lol

How on earth does this trigger on hazy cards when this is an EFFECT and Hazy's are immune to card EFFECTS!!! Bad coding? Bad translation? Please someone explain this!

Its bad wording on Konami's part. By "Target" the game means effects that specifically say "target" or "select".

It's not bad wording, yugioh is very strict with wording. It's just people not knowing the rules.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
It doesnt target. It just changes the attacking monster into defense position like mirror force destroying attacking monsters.
It's konami making cards op cause they chose words like that beforehand and decided to just legalize it.

Read Sphere Kuriboh's effect. It doesn't have the words "Target" or "Select". It simply says "If... You can..." You should read the different types of Effect, a quick guide is on the Tutorial portion of the Settings tab.

Traps are likely to be limit, so maybe this card will become a bit more popular?

Definitely, there are some Very Old cards that are EVER lasting and totally competitive, a clear example of this would be cards such as: Mirror wall, super rush headlong, wall of disruption, floodgate traphole, canadia and yeah, sphere kuriboh as well.

Whoever invested his /her gems in this card back in the day when Ultimate Rising was released must be really pleased because pretty much all top tier decks have lots sphere kuribohs in them. Except blue eyes, 'cause totally aggressive decks don't need to stall ofc.

Stall? Sphere kuriboh is a protection against OTK and Anki basically

Blue-eyes doesn't need Sphere Kuriboh, that's what he probably meant
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
more like he's bragging he's better than everyone because he doesn't use sphere kuriboh in his 'totally agressive' blue eyes deck.

I got my first in my first pack opening in the game, and the second and third from UR sales (which seem rigged to prioritise certain tech cards imo)

Most 🔥 card. My opponents always get this 🔥 in their starting hand on first turn. when i check their deck, they only have ONE this card. Most time i could finish duel with OTK, but because of this 🔥 card i end up losing. RNG 🔥

I pulled my first SK on the 199th out of 200 packs.
I got the second one from the most recent UR Dream Ticket.
I could really use 3, though.
SK is never gonna stop being one of the best techs in this game. Best card against the multitude of OTK meta and cheese decks out there.
