Red-Eyes B. Dragon combo: deck recipe

update 05/06/2017

Overview

The objective of the deck is to summon Red-Eyes B. Dragon and control the board by Champion's Vigilance. Similar to Kaibaman deck, but with the added support of Red-Eyes Spirit available from Super Joey, this can revive any Red-Eyes monster from the graveyard.

How to use

Send REBD to the graveyard

  • Vanguard of the Dragon is a great UR card from the Card Trader. Using the effect of this monster, you can discard REBD from your hand whenever you want, and the monster gains additional 300 ATK.

  • Red-Eyes Insight is amazing in a REBD deck. With just this one card you can start a 3 card combo while also simultaneously milling up to 2 cards from your deck. The usual combo for this card is to send a high-leveled red-eyes monster from deck to graveyard, then add Red-Eyes Spirit to hand.

Special summon REBD

  • If you did not normal summon this turn you can remove Red-Eyes Wyvern in your graveyard from play to special summon another red-eyes monster in your graveyard.
  • If you have Red-Eyes Spirit, you can use it to revive a red-eyes monster for free, safest time to use this is during your opponent's end phase. And this card also combos very well with Red-Eyes Insight.

Control the board

  • Enemy Controller is a very versatile card that is usually used for defense. But can also be used to take your opponent's monster and finish the duel with a direct attack. Or if used properly can counter effects like Relinquished or Gravekeeper's Oracle.
  • Set a Champion's Vigilance once you get Red-Eyes B. Dragon on the field. It negates the activation of any spell/trap effect or a summon of a monster. If you think your opponent has Mirror Wall, you can wait till you get this card.

Set skill

Last Gamble
Can be used in your Main Phase, starting from the fifth turn. Upon activation, reduces your LP to 100 and discards 2 cards from your hand. You roll a die and draw that number of cards. This skill can only be used once per Duel.

Tips

Meteor B. Dragon and B. Skull Dragon are fusion monsters that require REBD as one of the fusion materials.

After fusion summonning those high ATK monsters, special summon REBD used as a fusion material from the graveyard using Red-Eyes Spirit.

No-pack-opening deck

This is another version of Red-Eyes Black Dragon deck. No SR or UR cards from the card boxes.

lol the obly thing i’m waiting for is for them to add the red eyes support that actually makes them viable in real life, like the red eyes fusions and burns.

Yeah, but in order to get red eyes darkness I guess Atticus needs to be a playable character first !

Red eyes darkness would through a fun wrench in the works for the current top tier decks and would bring back some good classics. And I wouldn’t mind playing against Atticus.

Replacing red eyes wyverns with kidmodo dragons works too

id say now that we have all the cards we have now. champ and spirit can definitely go to 2 and 3. like the crap we have now. red eyes cant compete.

The vanilla version of Red-Eyes is now worse with Spirit and Champion being hit.

High Lv Normals don't really have a "crapton of support cards". Most in-game Normal support, (OTC, Painful Decision, HotU, EFR, etc.) overwhelmingly favor low lv Normal decks.

The only real exceptions are revival cards like Birthright, which have potential, but can't make Vanillas top tier alone. That was where CV stepped in to make those decks worth playing, but now, they are worthless.

But not EVERYTHING has to be "Top Tier" to be playable. Can you see now why its not the cards fault its the way it is, but the player's/community's fault for rying to push it out of its current/mainstay..."tier"? I love RE and will always play it, but players like you only care for Meta bs.

So now, leave RE & its "worthlessness" alone, go make more Meta decks elsewhere.

Agree when some player makes the deck as burn - No fun/No counter. In Red-Eyes case it's counter Vanilla Red-Eyes. Those one side play style always welcome ban list

I like the red eyes deck because i love running dragons, blue eyes are good but i have been running those for years, i just wish to try something new plus i believe that the red eyes decks are OP because you have cards like "red eyes flare metal dragon" (correct me if i got the name wrong) has the ability to stay on the field with its first effect and helps summon red eyes monsters with the second. The main reason i am going with red eyes is because they have a more interesting set of extra deck cards.

CV and Spirit nerf only affect Vanilla Red-Eyes. REZD deck is almost as good as pre-nerf. That's Komoney. They obviously won't disappoint P2W player who spent their money on 3 Gozuki

Sadly, 100% correct. They wouldn't dare give P2W players the impression their money wasn't well spent, but will gladly waste the effort of F2P players who farm strong cards to combat them.

Hehehe enjoy your precious copypasta deck while it lasts

The deck you should complain about is Cyber Angel; instant tier 0 Ritual deck in an era that's supposed to promote FUSIONS.

Why 3 red-Eyes Insight, it will beacome a dead card when all red-eyes spirit is out of deck
<< Anonymous
Dauntless Reply
Insight is too good to not play in 3s when the goal of the deck is to open with Red-Eyes and/or Vigilance as consistently as possible. That said, the decks presented can certainly be improved.
.
This is the deck I've taken to Legend 3 this season, (thwarted at KoG rank up game!) I solve the problem with Jar of Avarice, but I've also seen people play Ultimate Providence
