Pros

Can choose which one to take from the top 2.
Flip effect, so you can manually flip summon if your opponent does not attack it.
Sending an unwanted card will ensure that you get your essential ones before your last turn.

Cons

Low attack and defense. Will not survive an attack.
The card that is not selected from the 2 shown will get sent to the bottom of the deck. If you don't have ways to search from, or shuffle the deck, the unselected card will stay on the bottom of the deck.
Your opponent can also see the 2 excavated cards.
If you set this card with no other monster and your opponent has at least 1, you will take damage on the next turn since crystal seer will not survive.

Tips, related cards, skills

Works well in many farming decks, including unhappy girl with holy guard skill. After locking all 3 monsters your opponent controls, you can flip summon crystal seer and attack into your opponent's monster to destroy it.
When you only have 2 cards left in your deck, you can flip summon to see what they are, and take the one that you need before you run out of cards.

When your deck has only 1 card, the flip effect of this card is activated but cannot be applied.

Magical Merchant is the better version of this gal, given how it will give you an outright spell card and milling your spellcasters.

This card helps me a lot for farming especially in quintet farm since she is spellcaster. Also the fact that you can place something on the bottom of the deck is useful too when I play cheap trap for farming because that trap is useless if you got it during your last draw.

Skelengel and Dark Mimic Level 1 are decent alternatives, however in the end it's still better to use Crystal Seer.

163 packs opened, still not a single one of these... Rare my ass, more like Double Ultra Rare. There's only 47 packs left in the damned box >.> I got all but one UR and at least 1 if not two of every SR but not this one R like wtf?
