Pros

Can choose which one to take from the top 2.
Flip effect, so you can manually flip summon if your opponent does not attack it.
Sending an unwanted card will ensure that you get your essential ones before your last turn.

Cons

Low attack and defense. Will not survive an attack.
The card that is not selected from the 2 shown will get sent to the bottom of the deck. If you don't have ways to search from, or shuffle the deck, the unselected card will stay on the bottom of the deck.
Your opponent can also see the 2 excavated cards.
If you set this card with no other monster and your opponent has at least 1, you will take damage on the next turn since crystal seer will not survive.

Tips, related cards, skills

Works well in many farming decks, including unhappy girl with holy guard skill. After locking all 3 monsters your opponent controls, you can flip summon crystal seer and attack into your opponent's monster to destroy it.
When you only have 2 cards left in your deck, you can flip summon to see what they are, and take the one that you need before you run out of cards.

When your deck has only 1 card, the flip effect of this card is activated but cannot be applied.

I got Master of Oz while I opened first 10 packs but.....I got 3 of these while just 73 pack left. What a waste.

I think this card rarity should be SR instead of R.

Opened so many pack, got almost all UR and SR but not this card and that 1750 *4 beater.

I don’t undertand how players can be so naïve about the gameplay… “This is better than…” Not at all! Not necessarily. For instance, Skelengel has its place in fairy decks, mainly that ones thas uses Cards from the Sky. Crystal Seer it’s speelcaster type, so, we cannot make such shallows comparisons. Dark Mimic, the same, it has its place in a demon deck...

Fairy decks really aren't a thing and neither are demon decks. Dark Mimic has some weird synergies, so it maybe has a place, but honestly, this card IS much better in most circumstances and all circumstances in the current meta and in all relevant PVE decks. Naivety in this situation is on your head for not seeing this. In the case that there is support for a light deck, a fairy deck or a...

No 🔥 other similar type of cards have their place in a deck that needs their archetype. In general Crystal Seer is a better card than Skelengel, Dark Mimic, and other similar cards, and that is obviously what people are talking about. Also saying "That's the reason when I arise all you will perish..." doesn't make you cool, it makes you sound like an edgelord

when playing Crystal Seer in a deck where you set the game to Auto, the AI does not prioritize placing this card in face down defense position at all. AI decides to use every other card first before placing Crystal Seer, even losing the duel because of it.
