How to beat/farm Arkana level 40 (Gate)

• The Setup you want on the field to stall is Zombie World and Labyrinth Wall.
• Zombie World must be activated very early before Arkana has a chance to summon Dark Magician.
• Use Planet Pathfinder to search out Zombie World.
• In case Arkana summons Dark Magician Before you have Zombie World, use Floodgate Trap Hole on him.
• Shard of Greed, Jar of Greed, and Legacy of Yata Garasu is used to deck out faster and draw the cards you need.
• On the final turn, put your Labyrinth Wall to attack position and special summon Machina Cannon in attack position then use Shield and Sword.

• Summon Gate Guardian immediately, he has a high enough attack for you to stall the entire duel.
• To protect your Gate Guardian from Thousand Knives use Ready for Intercepting, Magic Jammer, or Riryoku Field. Ready for Intercepting Works because Arkana cannot activate Thousand Knives if you flip Dark Magician face-down immediately after it is summoned.
• It might be safest to set 2 of your defensive cards at a time because Arkana is able to sometimes summon 2 Dark Magicians in one turn.
• Attack Arkana's face-down Dark Magician.
• Shard of Greed, Good Goblin Housekeeping, and Jar of Greed are used to draw into your defensive cards quicker and so that you can deck out quicker than Arkana.
• Remember to activate Last Day of Witch during the final turn if your opponent controls Dark Magician before you summon anything. This is to prevent Arkana From using Dark Renewal.

Basic Unhappy Girl Deck.

• If you do not start the duel with The Unhappy Girl on hand set Rai-Mei or Crystal Seer. When destroyed, Rai-Mei allows you to search your deck for The Unhappy Girl and Crystal Seer adds a card from the top of your deck to hand.
• Attack Arkana's monsters with The Unhappy Girl to lock them from attacking.
• It would always be best to have at least 2 The Unhappy Girl on the field, so that you have a backup in case Arkana uses Thousand Knives.
• If you have a 2 The Unhappy Girl on the field and a set monster, Arkana would choose to destroy the set monster with Thousand Knives instead of an The Unhappy Girl.
• It would be best to always have at least one Enchanted Javelin set on the field, Arkana would choose to attack The Unhappy Girl if his attacks would bring your life points down to zero, so having Enchanted Javelin set would most likely stop him after his first attack.
• On the final turn use Last Day of Witch to destroy all spellcasters on the field so Arkana doesn't activate Dark Renewal, and to clear your field of The Unhappy Girl. Remember to activate Temple of the Kings before summoning Mystical Beast of Serket with Celestial Transformation, then use Temple of the Kings to summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon from your extra deck before normal summoning Gravekeeper's Vassal from hand.
• Use Secret Pass to the Treasures on Gravekeeper's Vassal then use the 2 Union Attacks on him after. Direct Attack and achieve 9999+ damage assessment.

• You'll probably start without a Mythical Beast Cerberus in your hand. Let your opponent attack you until you can activate Draw Sense: Light so you can draw Mythical Beast Cerberus from your Deck. Use cards that can give you Life Points if necessary.
• Once you summon Mythical Beast Cerberus, you can start increasing its attack by using Spell Cards. Your target is to immediately increase its attack by more than 2500 so Dark Magician can't surpass it.
• Set Riryoku Field so you can have a protection against Thousand Knives. Use Magical Mallet to have a better chance of getting it from your Deck. You're in a safe position once you negated Thousand Knives.
• On your final turn, leave 1 slot at your back row, set 2 unusable Spell/Trap and put a Field Spell Card. You can then use Storm to destroy all of your opponent's back row cards. This prevents Arkana from using Dark Renewal when you summon Gravekeeper's Vassal.
• Once you summon Gravekeeper's Vassal, use Secret Pass to the Treasures on it so it can attack your opponent directly. Follow it up by using Union Attack to get over 9999 damage.
