You can only use each effect of "Temple of the Kings" once per turn.

Extremely useful ability to use traps the turn it was set, giving a lot of possibilities for combos.
Can get a fusion monster out without requiring the monster materials.

In case you didn't get the 2nd copy of your Union Attack this card might be useful in your farming decks along with the Temple of the Kings.

Celestial Transformation

After activating Temple of the Kings you can special summon Mystical Beast of Serket, and special summon any monster you desire from your deck or extra deck with the help of this card.

Mystical Beast of Serket

Even with the great ATK and DEF of this monster it's commonly used on most farming decks rather than PVP decks.

Can someone please explain why this used to be banned in tcg trap cards by nature sre defensive and therefore most likely to be used during your opponents turn so its 1st effect is useful but not op and its 2nd effect is kinda meh since it doesn't ignore summoning conditions plus you're going -2 at the minimum(-3 if you tribute or summon with another s/t)

In part because it's a HUGE speed summoning tool. It's designed to work with trap monsters like Apophis and the Tiki cards, and cards like Metalmorph and Kunai with Chain that equip to monsters, allowing you to use them right away. Think about it - you can summon a 5/6 star monster right away by activating a Trap Monster and Tributing it immediately.

Hell, draw the right starting hand (TotK, Serket, any Trap Monster) and bam, turn 1 BEUD. Or play and immediately activate Shapesister and Normal Summon any 4-star, bam, instant 6-star Synchro of your choice (I run this in my Rishid deck to quickly drop Flamvell Uruquizas). It's -extremely- useful.

Not bad, but that´s not the reason it was banned in the TCG by a long shot. Got shut down because back in the day, people used it along draw Traps to get all Exodia pieces. Since you can´t normally use Traps on your 1st turn, TotK gave you a chance to abuse them for that purpose on your very first turn. Also, before it got nerfed, you could activate ANY amount of Traps, not just 1.

The card itself does not say it ignore any summoning condition, that means it does not ignore summoning condition.

Which means any Fusion that must be Special Summoned by a Fusion Summon (or must be Fusion Summoned first from the extra deck), cannot be Special Summoned by this card.

I can't activate the special summon effect. I have Beast of Serket on the field, last turn no monster cards in my hand but 1 fusion in my deck. Do you need a monster card in your deck/hand to activate the card?

How were ya'll playing 1.7 and the app just said to update? ... some auto-update, but I'm glad it didn't & now pissed folk can't use Serket for a while. My last duel right before maintenance was lv 30 Mokuba and I actually ended the duel just b4 midnight (won~). This morning however, they made me reduel the whole thing & Serket was being a badly glitched boi. D: F'ing hell.

The exact same thing happened to me omg, like i finished possibly right at the reset and the game went into maintenance and when i logged in the next day I had to redo the whole duel with a glitched temple, so annoying.

I’m new to this thread don’t know how long it’s been here but, with my experience with TOK and mystical beast serket, You need a fusion card that doesn’t say it requires it to be fusion summoned. Like BEUD, As of the newest patch in June 2018 Konami fixed the bug. You can summon beud by activating temple of kings and sending mystical beast of serket to the graveyard.

I think this has been here for more than a month. If there isn't a time period next to the poster's name (like "latest", "X hours ago", or "X days ago"), then it is probably older than 30 days.

I think that things like Black Dragon Ninja or Five-Headed Dragon that say they can't be special summoned except in the written way can't be special summoned by this.
