Blue-Eyes: deck recipe [Mar 8]

Duel Links Blue-Eyes Synchro deck, Blue-Eyes Synchro in the current meta, how to use.
update 08/03/2023

Overview

Blue-Eyes White Dragon is quite a fan favorite deck and there are a number of ways to play the deck. Using the Stone of the Ancients, you can special summon a Spirit of White or a Blue Eyes White Dragon, ultimately to synchro into Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon which can negate cards that activate in the graveyard.

4th Anniversary Campaign [UR]
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by revealing "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in your hand. You can only Special Summon "Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon" once per turn this way. This card's name becomes "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy it. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is activated.

Alternative White Dragon is very powerful due to its high base stats and free removal effect. On top of that it can be put on the field for free, making it a very easy yet impactful offensive play. Requiring you to have a BEWD on hand isn't really a problem with the many ways you can search it. Melody of Awakening Dragon is even able to fetch Alternative White Dragon and BEWD at the same time.

Alternative White Dragon cannot attack the turn it activates its removal effect. Instead you can activate the effect, then use Alternative White Dragon as Synchro or Xyz material. Alternative White Dragon can then be recovered by White Stone of Ancients.

This legendary dragon is a powerful engine of destruction. Virtually invincible, very few have faced this awesome creature and lived to tell the tale.

Has no effect on its own, but depending on which skill you use for the deck, Blue-Eyes White Dragon can be used to turn into an Alternative White Dragon or Twin Burst Dragon.

Dragon Spirit of White

Dragon Spirit of White

LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
The White Dragon of Legend [SR]
(This card is always treated as a "Blue-Eyes" card.)
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while in the hand or Graveyard. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; banish it. During either player's turn, if your opponent controls a monster: You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your hand.

When Dragon Spirit of White is in the graveyard you have multiple ways of reviving it and when in the deck you can Special Summon it with Sage or White Stone of Ancients. But when in your hand, Dragon Spirit of White is pretty much stuck there and your only option is to use it as effect cost. Knowing this, you might want to prioritize its Special Summoning from the deck.

You can run Silver’s Cry and use it to Special Summon Dragon Spirit of White during your opponent’s turn. But keep in mind if you chain Silver's Cry to the activation of the Spell/Trap Card you intend to banish, the effect of Dragon Spirit of White will miss the timing. Another way you can make use of Dragon Spirit of White is by reviving it with Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon.

You can also discard Sage, target 1 Effect Monster you control and then send it to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 “Blue-Eyes” monster from your Deck. The usual combo is to discard Sage, target White Stone of Ancients, Special Summon a Blue-Eyes monster via Sage’s effect, and Special Summon another Blue-Eyes monster during the End Phase. You can target Maiden with Sage's effect, which will also get 2 Blue-Eyes monsters on the field.

A combo you can perform with Sage and Mausoleum of White is to first activate Mausoleum, Normal Summon Sage, search and then Normal Summon Maiden. Now you can target Maiden with Mausoleum’s effect, Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Synchro Summon Spirit Dragon.

The White Stones

You want to use the White Stone monsters in your graveyard as often as possible to activate their resource gaining effects. This includes milling them or using them as effect cost.

The White Stone of Ancients
The White Stone of Ancients
LIGHT Dragon ★1
ATK 600 / DEF 500
Lords of Shining [UR]
Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card is in the Graveyard because it was sent there this turn: You can Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes" monster from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Blue-Eyes" monster in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. You can only use this effect of "The White Stone of Ancients" once per turn.

Send White Stone of Ancients to the graveyard whenever possible so you get to summon a free Blue-Eyes from the deck during your End Phase. Notable ways of doing this include targeting White Stone of Ancients with Sage's effect, using it as effect cost, or using it as synchro material.

Selection Box Vol. 03 [SR]
Stardust Acceleration [SR]
If this card is sent to the Graveyard: Add 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your Deck to your hand.

White Stone of Legends has far less impact on the board when compared to White Stone of Ancients, but what it does have is a quicker search effect. This search effect gets you a Blue-Eyes White Dragon on hand, bringing you closer to activating your skill.

Another advantage White Stone of Legends has over White Stone of Ancients is its immediate search effect. The White Stone of Ancients only Special Summons during the End Phase, giving your opponent a window where they can banish White Stone of Ancients to stop its effect.

Cards of Consonance
Cards of Consonance
Normal Spell
Selection Box Vol. 03 [UR]
Blackstorm Rising [UR]
Discard 1 Dragon-Type Tuner monster with 1000 or less ATK; draw 2 cards.

Both of the White Stone monsters are great cards to use as cost for Cards of Consonance, netting you additional resources and, in the case of White Stone of Ancients, a powerful monster on the field.

Think of Dawn Knight as a way to extend into a White Stone monster in your deck. Have your opponent destroy Dawn Knight or use Dawn Knight as target for Sage. After that you can mill your White Stone monster to activate their effect.

Sage with Eyes of Blue

Sage with Eyes of Blue
Sage with Eyes of Blue
LIGHT Spellcaster ★1
ATK 0 / DEF 1500
Judgement Force [SR]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 Level 1 LIGHT Tuner monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Sage with Eyes of Blue". You can discard this card, then target 1 Effect Monster you control; send it to the Graveyard, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes" monster from your Deck. You can only use this effect of "Sage with Eyes of Blue" once per turn.

Maiden with Eyes of Blue & Mausoleum of White

Judgement Force [UR]
When this card is targeted for an attack: You can negate the attack, and if you do, change the battle position of this card, then you can Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that targets this face-up card (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon 1 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard. You can only use 1 "Maiden with Eyes of Blue" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
Mausoleum of White
Mausoleum of White
Field Spell
Stardust Acceleration [UR]
During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 Level 1 LIGHT Tuner monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster you control; send 1 Normal Monster from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard, and if you do, the targeted monster gains ATK and DEF equal to the Level of the monster sent to the Graveyard x 100, until the end of this turn (even if this card leaves the field). You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Burst Stream of Destruction" from your Deck to your hand.

Maiden can special summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from your deck, but it has to be targeted by a card, whether it's a spell, trap, or even an attack. Mausoleum of White is a good card to pair Maiden with since this lets you activate Maiden right away during your turn to perform a synchro.

The attack boost effect from the field spell is situationally useful to get over high attack monsters, and milling a Blue-Eyes from the deck helps prevent bricks.

The effect of being able to summon another level 1 LIGHT tuner is useful when you have Sage with Eyes of Blue. Normal summon Sage to search for Maiden, then normal summon Maiden and use the field spell's effect on Maiden to special summon a Blue-Eyes from the deck. Then synchro with the Sage since Sage has no protection effect.

Maiden's effect can also be activated through a chain by using Sage from hand to target Maiden on the field. This allows you to special summon 2 Blue-Eyes from your deck.

Discard 1 card; add up to 2 Dragon-Type monsters with 3000 or more ATK and 2500 or less DEF from your Deck to your hand.

Straight up the best way to use this card is to fetch Alternative White Dragon and BEWD at the same time. For cost, you can discard White Stone monsters to trigger their effects. Past turn three, you can fetch two BEWD to activate your skill and make Twin Burst Dragon.

Ancient Rules

Ranked Rewards [R]
Special Summon 1 Level 5 or higher Normal Monster from your hand.

Ancient Rules unbricks your hand. Running a lot of high-level monsters like BEWD and Dragon Spirit of White makes it easy to get a hand where you can't put monsters on board, so Ancient Rules is here to fix that.

Extra Decks

Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon
Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★10
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Ultimate Dragons (Skill) [UR]
Blue-Eyes Evolution [UR]
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon" + "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"Must be either Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned by sending the above monsters you control to the Graveyard (in which case you do not use "Polymerization"), and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Cannot be destroyed by battle. This card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, when this card attacks an opponent's monster, but the opponent's monster was not destroyed by the battle: You can banish that opponent's monster.

Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon is what you will commonly be making when you activate your skill. Twin Burst Dragon on the field gives you a non-targeting, non-destruction removal, banishing method of removal and, since it can't be destroyed by battle, you can use it to get rid of stronger monsters without cost.

The double attack effect lets you use the removal effect twice while also functioning to increase your damage output. However you cannot use the second attack to attack directly.

Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon
Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★9
ATK 2500 / DEF 3000
Judgement Force [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "Blue-Eyes" monsters
Neither player can Special Summon 2 or more monsters at the same time. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when an effect of a card in the Graveyard is activated: You can negate the activation. During either player's turn: You can Tribute this Synchro Summoned card; Special Summon 1 LIGHT Dragon-Type Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck in Defense Position, except "Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon", but destroy it during the End Phase of this turn.

Once per turn, Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon allows you to negate the activation of a card or effect that was activated in the Graveyard. You can use this effect of Spirit Dragon, just to make a few practical examples, to negate the activation of Magician Navigation’s, Kiteroid’s, or Shiranui Spectralsword’s Graveyard effects.

During either player’s turn, you can Tribute Spirit Dragon to Special Summon 1 LIGHT Dragon-Type Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck in Defense Position. That monster is destroyed during the End Phase, but you can get around this drawback by Special Summoning Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon or Stardust Spark Dragon. Use this effect of Spirit Dragon to “dodge” cards like Enemy Controller, Drowning Mirror Force, and Treacherous Trap Hole.

Vermillion Dragon Mech
Vermillion Dragon Mech
FIRE Machine ★9
ATK 2700 / DEF 1800
Blazing Rose [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn: You can banish 1 Tuner from your hand, field, or Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished Tuners; add it to your hand.

Vermillion Dragon Mech's removal effect uses cost from the graveyard, making it more cost efficient than other similar effects. Overall its a decent beater with a targeting removal effect.

Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn
Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn
LIGHT Dragon ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 2000
Judgement Force [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monsters
Once per turn: You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 card on the field; banish that target. When this card is destroyed: You can target any number of other "Lightsworn" monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle them into the Deck, and if you do, you gain 300 LP for each returned card. Once per turn, during your End Phase: Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

In this Deck, Michael can only be summoned by the effect of Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon. Do this if you want to replace Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon with a more offense-oriented monster. Michael comes with a powerful removal effect that banishes, and the cost doesn't even affect your card resources.

Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys
Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys
WATER Fish ★9
ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
Stars of Synchro [SR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
Gains 500 ATK/DEF for each card in your hand. You can only use each of the following effects of "Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys" once per turn.

● If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can draw cards equal to the number of non-Tuners used for its Synchro Summon.
● (Quick Effect): You can discard 2 cards, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it.
Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon
Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★9
ATK 2500 / DEF 300
Stardust Acceleration [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Normal Monsters
When this card is Special Summoned: Dragon-Type monsters you currently control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects until the end of the next turn. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: You can target 1 Normal Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.

If this card is Special Summoned, Dragon-Type monsters you currently control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects until the End of the next turn; Azure-Eyes essentially provides protection against a plethora of cards that are fairly common in the current meta such as Treacherous Trap Hole, Paleozoic Canadia.

Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, Azure-Eyes can Special Summon a Normal Monster from your Graveyard, meaning you get to revive for free the Dragon Spirit of White or Blue-Eyes White Dragon you used to Special Summon this card.

Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Heart of Xyz [UR]
3 Level 8 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, except "Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can target up to 2 Equip Cards equipped to this card; attach them to this card as Xyz Materials. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it.

Can be Xyz Summon using Cipher Dragon. Good for Face-up Card Destruction which is good for Monster Removal and Face-Up Backrow Removal for sometimes.

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Phantom of Rebellion [UR]
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; monsters you control cannot attack your opponent directly for the rest of this turn, except this card, also take control of the targeted monster until the End Phase, but while this effect is applied, it has its effects negated, its ATK becomes 3000, also its name becomes "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon".

A potential OTK card if your opponent controls 1 or 2 monsters. This almost works like Number 70: Malevolent Sin since it lets you direct attack if your opponent only controls 1 monster.

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★9
ATK 3200 / DEF 2800
Heart of Xyz [SR]
3 Level 9 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 8 "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. If this Xyz Summoned card is destroyed by your opponent's attack or card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can target 1 "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Can be Xyz Summon using Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon. Unlike Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon with Face-Up Card Removal limitation, Cipher Blade can remove any 1 card on the field which is good for getting rid of some backrow that will disrupt your combo or Big Boss monsters with bigger ATK stats than any of your monsters.

Number 46: Dragluon
Number 46: Dragluon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 3000
Darkness Gimmick [SR]
Selection Box Vol.04 [SR]
2 Level 8 Dragon-Type monstersOnce per turn, if you control no other monsters: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then activate 1 of these effects.
● Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand.
● Target 1 Dragon-Type monster your opponent controls; take control of that target.
● Dragon-Type monsters your opponent controls cannot activate their effects until the end of your opponent's turn.

Rank 8 Dragon-Type Xyz Monster allows you to special summon High-Level Blue-Eyes Dragon Monsters without tributing. This effect can be useful when Spirit of White (that has back row removal effect) is in your hand.

Other useful cards

Deep-Eyes White Dragon

Deep-Eyes White Dragon
Deep-Eyes White Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★10
ATK 0 / DEF 0
Seto Kaiba (DSOD) at Lvl 30 [UR]
When a face-up "Blue-Eyes" monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect, and you have a Dragon-Type monster in your Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, inflict 600 damage to your opponent for each Dragon-Type monster with different names in your Graveyard. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Target 1 Dragon-Type monster in your Graveyard; this card's ATK becomes equal to that monster's. If this card on the field is destroyed by a card effect: Destroy all monsters your opponent controls.

Deep-Eyes White Dragon serves as a protection for your Blue Eyes monsters. Since Blue-Eyes monsters are often summoned during the end phase through Stone of the Ancients, you will find that your Blue-Eyes are unlikely to survive your opponent's turn against strong decks. Having Deep-Eyes makes it so you won't be left with an open field, and also deal some damage as a bonus.

A rare and situational play that you can make in case your opponent also has a 3000 attack monster is to use your Blue-Eyes and crash into them. You'll be able to special summon Deep-Eyes and attack right away.

Dawn Knight

Dawn Knight
Dawn Knight
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1200
Selection Box Vol. 03 [SR]
Resonance of Contrast [SR]
If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can send 1 LIGHT monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. If this card is sent from your Deck to the Graveyard: Target 1 LIGHT monster in your Graveyard; place that target on the top of your Deck. You can only use 1 "Dawn Knight" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

A cheaper alternative if you don't have 3 copies of Stone of the Ancients, but you may find it difficult to use its effect since people will rarely attack set monsters against Blue-Eyes decks, which is not something that's hidden because of the character and skill that's used.

My Krawler deck usually strangles blue eyes white dragon. The opponents are careless with destruction or removal. It lets me swarm the board and leave the big dragons as nothing more than impotent beaters. Then you wipe them out with spine and jab then over and over till they run away or die.

Blue Eyes seriously need a nerf. This month I literally struggle to reach KOG with anything except Blue-Eyes. Stuck in Legend 3. Three hours ago, I changed to Blue-Eyes, and just now, I reached KOG.
