Overview

The White Dragon of Legend, the next EX Structure Deck, is going to feature—to everyone’s surprise—more Blue-Eyes support; from the looks of it, Stardust Acceleration wasn’t enough to bring back to life the legendary dragon, but these new additions might be able to do it.

The deck is still pretty much the same, the main strategy is to Special Summon Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon using Blue-Eyes White Dragon and a Level 1 Tuner as Synchro Materials, Dragon Spirit of White just adds some backrow removal.

How to Use

Protector with Eyes of Blue

When Normal Summoned, Protector with Eyes of Blue can Special Summon a Level 1 LIGHT Tuner from your hand, meaning The White Stone of Legend or another Protector.

Once per turn, you can target an Effect Monster you control with this card and send it to the Graveyard to Special Summon a “Blue-Eyes” monster from your hand; you can send Protector with Eyes Blue itself to the Graveyard with this effect and Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Dragon Spirit of White, since it is always treated as a “Blue-Eyes” monster.

Protector with Eyes of Blue is essentially the easiest way you have to get your high Level monsters on the field, you can target Priestess with Eyes of Blue with its effect, if you decide to run it, to add up a copy of Blue-Eyes White Dragon and/or Dragon Spirit of White from your Deck to the hand or send White Stone of Legend to the Graveyard to add 2 Blue-Eyes White Dragon to your hand.

The White Stone of Legend

The White Stone of Legend can add Blue-Eyes White Dragon from your Deck to your hand; you can trigger its effect by either setting it and waiting for your opponent to destroy it or send it to the Graveyard yourself with Protector with Eyes of Blue. White Stone is a Level 1 Tuner, which means that you can Special Summon Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon with it too.

You could technically just discard White Stone to trigger its effect, but the best way to do that would be to use The Melody of Awakening Dragon, which would leave you with no Blue-Eyes in the Deck; if there were other suitable targets for the Normal Spell, aside from Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon and Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon then it would be a better card to use.

Ancient Rules & Silver’s Cry

Another way to Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dragon Spirit of White is to use Ancient Rules or Silver's Cry since the latter is treated as a Normal Monster while in the hand or Graveyard.

You can send Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Dragon Spirit of White to the Graveyard with Majesty with Eyes of Blue and then Special Summon the one you chose with Silver’s Cry.

Dragon Spirit of White

Dragon Spirit of White is here to fix one of the main issues this deck previously had: the Amazoness matchup. When Dragon Spirit of White is Normal or Special Summoned, you can target a Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls and banish it; you can use this effect to get rid of Amazoness Onslaught pretty much permanently since even Endless Trap Hell won’t be able to get it back.

Dragon Spirit of White’s secondary effect allows you to Special Summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from your Deck by tributing it, but your opponent must control a monster in order to activate it; you can use this effect to get around Treacherous Trap Hole or Vampire Kingdom or just to get the Level 8 Normal Monster on the field for a Synchro Summon.

Dragon Spirit of White is unfortunately not treated as a Normal Monster while on the field, which means that you can’t use it as material for Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon and its ATK is less 3000, which means it can’t be searched by The Melody of Awakening Dragon, but it’s still a great card to run because of its effect and the synergy with the rest of the deck.

Treacherous Trap Hole

With no other Trap Cards in the deck, Treacherous can be used freely. You can target and destroy two monsters on the opponent’s side of the field or target just one and White Stone to get trigger its effect.

Azure- Eyes Silver Dragon

If this card is Special Summoned, Dragon-Type monsters you currently control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects until the End of the next turn; Azure-Eyes essentially provides protection against a plethora of cards that are fairly common in the current meta such as Treacherous Trap Hole, Paleozoic Canadia, Vampire Kingdom and Donpa, Marksman Fur Hire.

Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, Azure-Eyes can Special Summon a Normal Monster from your Graveyard, meaning Dragon Spirit of White or the Blue-Eyes White Dragon that you have likely used to Special Summon this card.

Giganticastle

This monster that has been recently added to the Card Trader is a decent option for any deck that can Special Summon Level 9 Synchros; Giganticastle is going to have 3100 ATK in this deck, which might still turn out to be useful in certain scenarios.

Skills

Beatdown!
This turn, the Atk of all Level 5 or higher face-up monsters on your field increases by the number of monsters of Level 5 or higher on your field times 300.
Seto Kaiba
Seto Kaiba

This Skill boosts Azure-Eyes, Dragon Spirit of White and Blue-Eyes’ already high ATK even further; after Beatdown! there really isn’t much that could withstand an attack from one of these two monsters.

The raw power that Beatdown! provides might be sacrificed for a Skill that boosts the consistency of the deck in the near future.

[Skill] descriptionUser
Cyber Style
Can be used each time your Life Points are at 3000 or below. Play 1 "Proto-Cyber Dragon" on from outside of your Deck for every 1000 Life Points below 4000. This skill can nly be used once per Duel.
Zane Truesdale
Zane Truesdale

Cyberstyle can give you up to three monsters that you can then offer as a Tribute for a Spirit Dragon of White or a Blue-Eyes that is stuck in your hand; the main problem in this case is that you need to take at least 2000 Life Points worth of damage or use Cosmic Cyclone twice in order to get something that you can then use this way, which is not always going to be possible.

Matchups

Fur Hire Matchup

Surprisingly Fur Hires are not the biggest threat for this deck as Azure-Eyes can provide protection from both Donpa, Marksman Fur Hire and Treacherous Trap Hole, making it quite difficult to get rid of it without Dyna, Hero Fur Hire.

Wiz, Sage Fur Hire can still negate Mausoleum and Silver’s Cry, preventing you from Special Summoning Azure-Eyes and most decks now run three copies of it, but Fur Hires are by no means unbeatable for Blue-Eyes.

Amazoness Matchup

Amazons and their Continuous Trap are a nightmare for this deck as they can essentially bypass Azure-Eyes’ protection, Amazoness Swords Woman can attack freely into your higher Level monster and cause substantial damage and cards like Paleozoic Canadia and Floodgate Trap Hole can prevent you from Synchro Summoning.

Dragon Spirit of White is crucial for this matchup as it can banish Amazoness Onslaught with its effect; if Amazoness decks are still an issue, you could consider running Cosmic Cyclone or Galaxy Cyclone.

Vampire Matchup

Vampires have targeting removal in the form of Vampire Kingdom and Treacherous Trap Hole, against which Azure-Eyes provides protection, and they tend to reduce their Life Points early to set up, which could turn out to be fatal for them.

Masked HERO Matchup

Masked HEROes are realistically too fast for this deck to handle; in order to be more consistent Blue-Eyes kind of has to sacrifice backrow, leaving them wide open against those multiple Mask Change plays and Masked HERO Anki’s direct attacks.

U.A Matchup

If Azure-Eyes is on the field, U.A. will have a hard time getting rid of your higher Level monsters, but U.A. Penalty Box can still banish them and U.A. Dreadnought Dunker can even get over them with enough boosts from U.A. Stadium; Dragon Spirit of White is again pretty important for its backrow removal effect.

Silent Spellbook Matchup

Spellbook of Fate doesn’t target, which means that Azure-Eyes can do nothing against it, making it pretty much worthless; Silent Magician can negate a Spell Card per turn (Silver’s Cry, Mausoleum, Ancient Rules, et cetera) and the Silent Magician LV8 version has enough ATK to get over Blue-Eyes naturally.

Hello. I just built this and am having a hard time deciding what to do about some of these cards. Is 3 ancient rules or bingo machines better than 2? I would also like to swap birthright out for swing of memories eventually since I don't want to try for another silver's cry. Extra deck is 3 azure and 2 castles from the card trader.

p2w? one-time real purchase + 1000 gems is p2w for you? I bet more than 60% of the playerbase have this deck, and remaining 40% bought the pack once with gems. either way BEWD is so cheap even in terms of time investment, you don't even have to farm a character all the way to lvl 45 to get some core cards. stop being whiney and get real

I actually bought this 3 times with just cash. But after I fixed it up a bit, I only use it in casual duel now because I'm afraid that it will never get KOG without the Arkana skill. I didn't know it would be all about that... lol At least I'm still having fun with it.

lol you realise that spirit of white it is not yet released?

In addition, it is crazy to demand real money only for making the deck competitive and not to lose on the second turn.

Not even one day later after that comment is made, spirit of white is released.

I find that rather amusing.

Are you a developer? This game is still shit

If it's Tier 2 then it means it can take you to KOG during the first 3-5 days of the new season.
Totally worthy if you are a fan of Blue-Eyes archtypes; on the other hand, they can't just simply make it stronger, remember that some folks miight actually say the game is P2W and that's not true at all.

the game is slowly moving to P2W.

b/c UR cards are the core of each archetype deck and gems are hard to farm.

also, this blue-eyes deck is Tier 1~2. it has potential of OTK.

1st hand experienced, opponent destroy my monster and wipe out my backrow with card effects; special summon blue-eyes for OTK. (opponent go 2nd with with total 4500 damage deal)

The only thing I feel like I am struggling with here is deciding how many protection cards to include. If anyone has any recommendations about the count and would like to share it, I would appreciate it.
bewd
Is stardust dragon bad or what.. why does no one include it in their deck and choose this azure eyes over it everywhere.
<< Anonymous(bewd)
Anonymous Reply
Stardust Dragon is not bad, it's just not suitable for this deck.

I mean, how are you going to bring out Stardust when your non-Tuner is Level 8?
<< Anonymous(bewd)
Anonymous Reply
Stardust is a level 8 monster, which means that the total combined level stars of the materials has to be 8. Additionally, the requirement on Stardust says "1 tuner + 1 or more non-tuners", so the materials must fulfill that requirement too. The reason Stardust isn't in this deck is because there's no way to make him when the only monsters in this deck are level 8 monsters and level 1 tuners.
<< Anonymous(bewd)
Anonymous No. 2 Reply
The reason is actually even more profound than the earlier comments suggest.
Stardust is a 2500 ATK monster and is easily behind the current Duel Links meta with monsters regularly topping ATK in the range between 2800 and 3000, making it a sitting duck.
Even if you manage to utilize it by negating destruction (e.g. a Treacherous or a Donpa), you will still probably get OTKed during that turn.

this website seems to commonly forget the usefulness of cards like champion's vigilance (despite it being limit 1), melody of awakening dragon, and arkbrave dragon

This is not an information site or something similar, it's actually a chat community site, or like when you hang out at a cafe. Sometimes it's a hyper advertising site, other times it's a hangout for mentally-challenged persons, and so on.

Think it's safe to say Blue Eyes has much more support than Dark Magician at the moment.. dont see a skill really being needed

blue eyes needs a skill because it needs to be better better and better
Evil Rick
Add 1 or 2 Hyosanryus to the deck to easely summon Stardust Dragon as well.

maybe red eyes still better than hyuozanru since he can fast be special summon (e.g red eyes spirit)
<< Anonymous
Evil Rick Reply
Red-Eyes lacks synergy with the other cards since most of them require a Normal LIGHT Dragon type

Red-Eyes is DARK
Brickyboi
This has only been bricking... I swear the rng is fked up. I put 13 ways of low levels and summoning blue eyes in the deck and my starting hand its always 2blue eyes or spirits plus bingo and silvers cry
<< Anonymous(Brickyboi)
Anonymous Reply
use arkana then. his skill helps this deck from not bricking as much at least.
'a trick up the sleeve' :)
<< Anonymous(Brickyboi)
Anonymous Reply
It is a shade bricky on my beatdown version, but it often comes right in my next turn, if I get one.

As mentioned you can use Arkana, and trick up the sleeve and bricking is far less of a thing as you'll always have a cosmo brain to use.
