Red-Eyes B. Dragon combo: deck recipe

update 05/06/2017

Overview

The objective of the deck is to summon Red-Eyes B. Dragon and control the board by Champion's Vigilance. Similar to Kaibaman deck, but with the added support of Red-Eyes Spirit available from Super Joey, this can revive any Red-Eyes monster from the graveyard.

Beatdown!
Boosts the ATK of face-up attack position monsters you control by 300 per level 5 or more monsters you control. You can only use the skill once per turn.

How to use

Send REBD to the graveyard

  • Vanguard of the Dragon is a great UR card from the Card Trader. Using the effect of this monster, you can discard REBD from your hand whenever you want, and the monster gains additional 300 ATK.

  • Red-Eyes Insight is amazing in a REBD deck. With just this one card you can start a 3 card combo while also simultaneously milling up to 2 cards from your deck. The usual combo for this card is to send a high-leveled red-eyes monster from deck to graveyard, then add Red-Eyes Spirit to hand.

Special summon REBD

  • If you did not normal summon this turn you can remove Red-Eyes Wyvern in your graveyard from play to special summon another red-eyes monster in your graveyard.
  • If you have Red-Eyes Spirit, you can use it to revive a red-eyes monster for free, safest time to use this is during your opponent's end phase. And this card also combos very well with Red-Eyes Insight.

Control the board

  • Enemy Controller is a very versatile card that is usually used for defense. But can also be used to take your opponent's monster and finish the duel with a direct attack. Or if used properly can counter effects like Relinquished or Gravekeeper's Oracle.
  • Set a Champion's Vigilance once you get Red-Eyes B. Dragon on the field. It negates the activation of any spell/trap effect or a summon of a monster. If you think your opponent has Mirror Wall, you can wait till you get this card.

Set skill

Last Gamble
Can be used in your Main Phase, starting from the fifth turn. Upon activation, reduces your LP to 100 and discards 2 cards from your hand. You roll a die and draw that number of cards. This skill can only be used once per Duel.

Tips

Meteor B. Dragon and B. Skull Dragon are fusion monsters that require REBD as one of the fusion materials.

After fusion summonning those high ATK monsters, special summon REBD used as a fusion material from the graveyard using Red-Eyes Spirit.

No-pack-opening deck

This is another version of Red-Eyes Black Dragon deck. No SR or UR cards from the card boxes.

Maybe it's just me, but it feels so wrong to me that REBD is most commonly used by Kaiba because of Beatdown and BEWD is most commonly used by Joey with Last Gamble...

There's a very good reason to play beat down! Increasing the atk of your monsters helps you to get over pretty much anything...

Hey need some advice since red eyes spirit and insight has been added to the pvp rewards and i have neither, what would be my best options on how many to get i was thinking 2 spirit and a insight would be good what do you guys think

I think, and I want to be honest to you here, that if you have 0 of both, getting 3 out of the 2 is simply not enough, you can make one(2 spirit and 1 insight) , but it will not be as strong and consistent as those that have 3 of each, but you can definitely go and get it, so in the future you can have a chance to get 3 of each,bc I think red eyes will be a strong deck for a long time

I run that too, although for me the red-eyes cards are just an addon to my dragon deck, which is a mess of dragons summoned with Kidmodo and Totem. Still gets me out of pinches when I do not have Kidmodo or Totem to summon despite being only 5 cards (2 Red-eyes, 2 Spirit, 1 insight). But you will need something to discard redeyes into the graveyard in the event you draw all the Spirit you have.

Alright thanks guys i do have that vanguard dragon so hopefully i can pull something out of what i can get

Only one Red Eyes Spirit and one Insight... I tried to replace the two others Spirit by Soul Resurrection but it lost consistency...

Any idea? I'm a big fan of REBD...

i use 2 spirits and one soul res i have 3 spirits but i wanted to try out soul res because i have 2 that are glossy i find it works well

This deck (with Balance) is the most consistent and OP thing that has ever appeared in DuelLink so far.

You are guaranteed a win if you got your Insight and ChampVigil on turn 1. Heck, even the quote unquote "Anti-Red Eyes MILL" deck can also often struggle against this deck.

This deck simply has no bad matchup at all and runs over everything in current meta.

Try Running over a turn 1 Dark Paladin!

When Dark Paladin can negate any spell card you play!

In addition, Your CV is completely useless because you can't negate a monster already summoned on turn 1.

You will have to pray you can get REBD on the field!

Than you will have to pray the Dark Paladin player slips up and allows you to negate him!

Too bad that Dark Paladin deck is just another bricky inconsistent deck that many players are shunning. The REBD player would probably be at a 10 game winning streak already before he is even unlucky enough to see a turn 1 Dark Paladin at Lengend/Platinum.

budget? its expensive deck bcos 3 wyverns.
<< Anonymous

There's a budget version used by silentlofd in WCS that uses only 1 wyvern. GameA should include that imo
