あれ。 | N. DO ZAP |
---|---|
Endless Trap Hell | Switcheroo |
Standard opening for N. DO ZAP: he summons Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, sets up his Graveyard for a Spellbook of Fate with a few searches and then gets a Spellbook of Eternity for his next turn (2:07:05);
N. DO ZAP decides to set three cards, one of which will end up being just a Spellbook of Secrets, possibly bluffing a Treacherous Trap Hole;
あれ。opens with both Amazoness Princess and a copy of Amazoness Onslaught (Duel Replay): N. DO ZAP will have to get rid of both if he wants to get Silent Magician out on the field safely;
N. DO ZAP doesn’t waste any time: he banishes Amazoness Princess right at the beginning of the Battle Phase, preventing the opponent from activating her effect;
N. DO ZAP’s Graveyard is ready for another Spellbook of Fate: he Special Summons Silent Magician by tributing Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, then gets another Spellbook Magician of Prophecy on field and searches for a Spellbook of Eternity for the his next turn (2:10:17);
あれ。reveals his first Amazoness Onslaught (2:11:15) and Special Summons an Amazoness Swords Woman;
N. DO ZAP ends his Battle Phase: he decided to set the Spellbook of Fate during his Main Phase and his opponent still has two other cards in the Spell and Trap Zone;
N. DO ZAP still doesn’t know about the second Amazoness Onslaught and is probably being cautious: even if he gets rid of the Amazoness Onslaught, a Paleozoic Canadia or a Treacherous Trap Hole could be very problematic.
あれ。summons Amazoness Princess and searches for Amazoness Willpower (2:11:40): this should tell N. DO ZAP that there are no more Amazoness Onslaught in the deck;
N. DO ZAP banishes the first Amazoness Onslaught with Spellbook of Fate (2:12:23), but the opponent shows the second one and clears the field;
N. DO ZAP activates Switcheroo and then summons Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, but あれ。 reveals his last face-down: a Treacherous Trap Hole (2:13:49).
Even without the second Amazoness Onslaught, あれ。would have been able to deal with a Silent Magician LV8 by either destroying it or just crashing into it with Amazoness Swords Woman. |

Fusion Reserves - Roids | Endless Trap Hell |
あれ。had clearly an advantage with this matchup: Geargias are able to clear the opponent’s backrow quite easily and also get around Amazoness Queen’s battle protection; in addition to this Drillroid can destroy Defense Position monsters without coming in contact with them, making Amazoness Onslaught ineffective in that case.
Seemingly strong opening for あれ。: Ties of the Brethren creates some good field advantage at the cost of 2000 Life Points (2:17:04), but, by checking the Replay, we can see that the had no back row and the card that he set was just another Ties of the Brethren;
あれ。activates his skill, Fusion Reserves - Roids, gets a Drillroid in his hand and ends his turn;
N. DO ZAP opens with an Amazoness Princess and, after searching an Amazoness Onslaught, decides to get an Amazoness Queen on the field by attacking with Princess and activating her effect (2:17:35);
Kind of risky play: あれ。’s backrow was sending no response, so it could have been a Wall of Disruption.
あれ。finally draws some backrow (Replay): Curse of Anubis is extremely effective against Amazoness;
あれ。shows how well Geargias can control the field: he gets rid of part of the opponent’s backrow and then goes for his monsters (2:17:59);
N. DO ZAP manages to protect his Life Points by Special Summoning Amazoness Queen from the Graveyard with Amazoness Willpower (2:18:52);
あれ。stops his opponent right away with Curse of Anubis, preventing him from getting rid of Geargiattacker (2:19:27);
あれ。clears the opponent’s side of the field and attacks for game.

Show of Nightmares | Balance |
あれ。’s starting hand is actually quite unlucky: no Spellbook of Secrets or Spellbook Magician of Prophecy and only a Treacherous Trap Hole to protect his Life Points (Replay), but luckily he is going second so he’ll have a 33% chance of drawing either of those cards in his Draw Phase;
N. DO ZAP summons Noble Knight Drystan, sets a face-down card and ends his turn (2:22:45);
あれ。manages to draw Spellbook of Secrets and starts the standard search (2:22:58);
N. DO ZAP decides to Floodgate Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, but あれ。can still get the search off and tribute it for Silent Magician (2:23:15);
Silent Magician can negate a Spell once per turn, this, together with the face-down Spellbook of Fate is too much for N. DO ZAP (2:24:48), the duel is over.
