Jesse Unlock Event is back again! And this time, as well as new Reward Cards, you will be able to obtain Jesse's new Skill as a Reward!

How to Play

  1. Collect Crystal Fruits by defeating Duelist in Duel World and Ranked Duels!
  2. Use Crystal Fruits at the Gate to Duel Jesse Anderson!
  3. Duel Jesse Anderson to accumulate tons of Duel Energy!
  4. Collect Duel Energy to obtain exclusive Rewards!

Crystal Fruits

Crystal Fruits can be obtained by Dueling the following:

  • Legendary Duelists (Duelists at the Gate not included)
  • Standard Duelists
  • The Vagabond

  • Ranked Duels

  • You obtain more Crystal Fruit when you win Duels

  • You do not get Crystal Fruits when you surrender
  • You can obtain Crystal Fruits 5 times per day by winning Ranked Duels. (Resets 12:00)
  • When you obtain Crystal Fruits, you will receive additional Crystal Fruits up to twice per day!

Duel Energy

Duel Energy can be obtained by Dueling the following characters.

  • Event exclusive, Jesse Anderson
  • Event exclusive, Zane Truesdale
  • Legendary Duelists (Duelists at the Gate not included)
  • Standard Duelists
  • The Vagabond

You do not obtain Duel Energy if you surrender

Zane Truesdale

Zane Truesdale Lvl.40 will appear in Duel World(GX) when you accumulate 100,000 Duel Energy! Defeat Zane and obtain tons of Duel Energy! Cards are not included in Duel Rewards against Zane Truesdale.

Notes

  • Use Cards of the Soul and Different Dimension Capsule to search out Rainbow Dragon. You can also use Different Dimension Capsule to search out other useful cards.
  • Summon Sapphire Pegasus to search out Crystal Beasts from your deck.
  • The skill Trancendent Crystal is also for searching out Crystal Beasts from your deck. It is best not to discard or add Sapphire Pegasus to your spell/trap zone with this skill.
  • Remember to always leave 1 space open so you could use your spell cards.
  • Rare Value helps you draw cards and unclog your backrow.
  • Use Wingbeat of Giant Dragon to return Rainbow Dragon to your hand and destroy all spell/trap cards on the field. Remember there is no limit to the number of times you can summon Rainbow Dragon, so you can keep resummoning him from your hand.
  • After searching Rainbow Dragon and having your LP somehow decreased, you can still use Card of the Soul to try and search out a monster.
  • If you are dueling casual against random duellist, it is best to only use Different Dimension Capsule to search Card of the Soul to eliminate the risk of permanently banishing an important card if your opponent destroys Different Dimension Capsule.

They completely removed Emerald Tortoise's battle position switching effect. I think that's the first time any card has had an effect completely removed or changed for Duel Links

It's an effect that would normally trigger during Main Phase 2, but they could've just made it happen at the end of the battle phase instead of completely removing it. Dang, they neutered the poor turtle

The royal curse a trap card, also has the text changed.
According to the Wikia, it should affect magic jammer. But your text in Duel Links prevents it from affecting magical jammer and other similar text.

I'm surprised they removed it rather than just leaving it there. But removing it is better than editing it to function.

As for Curse of Royal... While my faith in my Google Translate interpretation skills is low, I THINK the newer (mid-2017) Japanese text of Curse says it only negates targeting effects. (I'd guess we'll get it soon in the TCG, probably the next tournament pack if I had to guess.)

It's always interesting when we get updated text in Duel Links that hasn't happened yet in the TCG. Masked Beast Des Gardius, for instance, has PSCT, even though it's never been reprinted in the TCG. And we got the name changes for Big Core and Muko/Null and Void before the TCG did, too. I still wonder where they source their text from since it's not the official database.

Starting with Rainbow Dragon in your hand (unless it was a free card, not taking up one of your opening hand) would be TERRIBLE. It's useless early game, unless we get Rainbow Neos, which I doubt. The best you could hope for is something like Para & Dox's Elements Unite!. Aside from that, I don't think there's much that could make Rainbow Dragon worthwhile.

TONS of cards that will likely never exist in Duel Links have voice lines. Jesse has a line for Crystal Abundance (which you can't even use without Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude) and quite a few anime-only cards, for example.
