Paradox Brothers: Guardian of the Gate is an event in Duel Links to unlock the Paradox Brothers. It is similar to the other unlockable character events, collect Maze Keys by dueling the duelists that appear in your duel world to duel Paradox Brothers at the gate and get event points to get exclusive rewards.

What makes this event different than the others is the choosing of a door. The Paradox Brothers will sometimes appear in your duel world, asking you which door you want to choose from 2 different doors. One leads to a high level of 50/40 with an added bonus to score, but also comes with a decrease if you lose the duel.

Event flow

1Collect Maze Keys by winning duels against Standard Duelists, Legendary Duelists, and the Vagabond.
2Challenge the Paradox Brothers at the Gate once you obtain required amount of Maze Keys.
3Earn "Points" after duels against Paradox Brothers based on Duel Assessment to unlock them and get exclusive event rewards.

The amount of event points that you get is not the Duel Assessment from dueling against the Paradox Brothers, it is instead a multiplication of that DA score depending on what level you are dueling.

Door Challenge

Paradox Brothers may spawn outside the gate, duelists may challenge them as they bring new challenges not just by having a LVL 50, but also challenges like "Smaller Monster Zone", "Smaller Trap/Spell Zone" "No Monster Effect Activation", etc, offering a higher score or duel assessment upon winning, but it can also decrease your score if you lose.

Event exclusive skill

Paradox Brothers in this event uses exclusive skills, which are different from what players can obtain when using them as playable characters.

At level 20, he will start the duel with Shadow Ghoul on the field.

At level 30, he will start the duel with Labyrinth Tank on the field.

At level 40, he will start the duel with Labyrinth Wall on the field.

At level 50, he will start the duel with Gate Guardian on the field.

Sigh... I am really only dueling them just to get the rare jewels and gems. I don't even want to use any of their cards. I hope that the next event has more cards that I actually like. (Like the Yami Marik and Mokuba events). And I'm getting tired of bringing out Blue-Eyes to eat their Labyrinth Wall for lunch.

You must be lying man... The first two duels against lvl40 I could get two SRs, although they were 🔥ty DNA Checkup they still are SRs... Try buying some of their rewards from Card Trader using EX Jewels and try farming them again, this somehow worked for me to get 3 Dimension Gates.

If your current farm decks does not make them to drop SRs, consider to switch to another deck. I did that for Marik and right after I switched my farm deck to another, he dropped tons of SRs.

im at about 3.2mil points and i have at least 3 copies of every card with 6 labyrinth walls. you're either very unlucky, full of 🔥, or aren't getting 8000 points per victory

even though I have most cards from last time... this is right. With marik I was farming him with para bros for the first 2.8 mil without 1 sr. after I switched I finally started to receive sr cards. So many quirks about this game.

I know newer players are constantly coming to the game but for an older player like me these events are getting really boring. I have an idea - Konami should start releasing more often all the characters from the original anime they want as playable, then at the end of the year(or why not sooner) have a HUGE event, where players can unlock all the characters they don't have. Then start fresh - with GX or whatever they want, just stop repeating these events every month. I guess it would be difficult, to design more characters with skills which don't brake the game(like 3SD) but it's bad that a game like Yu-Gi-Oh, with so many cards and possibilities, gets stale and boring so quickly.

lol so you're telling me you dont think the events in this game are insanely repetitive? they are literally all the same event, just reskined. the only differences between events in this game is whether or not they appear at the gate or spawn randomly. a game being free to play doesnt suddenly mean every decision they ever make is perfect lol. you should 🔥 because i dont agree with you!!! XD

so how is asking for any kind of diversity at all asking for too much? is it my fault that im getting bored of reskined events that have been going on since the release of the game, almost a year ago? good games dont just repeat the same event constantly, they actually try different things over time. i dont get how you can try to act like this game isnt lazily made lmao.

Well, I've been 6 months on the game but due to satanic RNG, I could not get any SR besides 17 Labyrinth Walls from consistent 8k assessments from this event before. This is a very welcome event for old players, usable farming cards and free gems are always welcome.

The moment you tried summon gate. Then realize it's a card limiter, on a game that only have three monsters zones. This event is garbo.

Problems? let's check out your deck first, there would be too many monsters and there would be no spell or trap cards. try adding more spells to make your monsters stronger...and here i got a time wizard, it should help you especially on tight spots..

I'm leaving a second comment, just because I think that GameA really needs to find someone better to do the rankings on the cards. It seems like they just looked at them, and were like: "Hmm... Dimension Gate, a highly useful protection enemy controlled, and which is often used in Storm decks... eh. Give it a 5. Damage Gate, which can summon a dead Relinquished, and combo with Golden Apples? Eh, looks like a five to me. DNA CHECKUP? THAT THING OP GIVE IT A 6." I mean for real. I get that you technically have a better chance getting the draw than you would using Cup of Ace, if the opponent guesses randomly, but if you activate in any other time than the first turn, they probably know what Attribute(s) your deck mainly uses.
