Pros

Can special summon monsters from the graveyard.
Many high defense monsters have low attack.

Cons

Needs to take battle damage to activate.
Can only special summon monsters from the graveyard.
Summoning high defense monsters with low attack can be dangerous since cards like Windstorm of Etaqua or Enemy Controller are common, while taking a lot of damage to summon a decent attack monster can lead to low LP.

Tips, related cards, skills

You can use attack increasing cards to your opponent's monster so you take more damage.

Labyrinth Wall

A monster that can be easily summon with Damage Gate for having 0 ATK. (must be in the graveyard).

Cocoon of Evolution

Another card that can be easily summon with Damage Gate from the graveyard for having 0 ATK.

Extra Gate

You can guess an incorrect level to send Labyrinth Wall to the graveyard to set up a special summon.

Half Shut

Lowers your attack so you take more damage and prevents your monster from destroyed by battle.
