Gadgets are like a swarming engine that can be used in certain decks. They have floating effects and good swarming potential, making it pretty easy to make some XYZ monsters. However, how good/effective they pretty much depend on the XYZ cards that are available.

ZEXAL - Zexal Weapon Activates at the beginning of your turn if your Life Points are 2000 or below. Yuma and Astral build the Overlay Network! ZEXAL Morph! After transforming to ZEXAL, add 1 "Number C39: Utopia Ray" to your Extra Deck. Each turn, you can look at the top card of your Deck before drawing a card. In addition, you can use each of the following effects once per turn. - Before conducting your normal draw, change the top card in your Deck to a “ZW” monster. - Can be used at the beginning of your Main Phase. Play 1 “ZW” monster from your hand. | Yuma and Astral |
Gold and Silver pretty much have the same effect, while the colored ones are similar in a sense that they can search each other.
Gold and Silver are the starter cards since they can essentially be treated as a 1 card XYZ. Just keep in mind that they can only activate 1 of their effects per turn. If you think your opponent will destroy them during the turn you summon them, don't activate their first effect so you can float into another Silver/Gold.
Red, Green, and Yellow search each other out. Their main purpose is to replenish resources and be used for XYZ. They can be special summoned when Silver/Gold is destroyed, or use cards like Super Team Buddy Force Unite! Keep in mind that they CAN miss their timing. If you chain STBFU to a card, you won't get their search effect.
Gold Gadget | LIGHT Machine ★4 ATK 1700 / DEF 800 |
Selection Box Vol.04 [UR]
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 Machine-Type monster from your hand. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Gadget" monster from your Deck, except "Gold Gadget". You can only use 1 "Gold Gadget" effect per turn, and only once that turn. |
Silver Gadget | LIGHT Machine ★4 ATK 1500 / DEF 1000 |
Selection Box Vol.04 [SR]
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 Machine-Type monster from your hand. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Gadget" monster from your Deck, except "Silver Gadget". You can only use 1 "Silver Gadget" effect per turn, and only once that turn. |
Green Gadget | EARTH Machine ★4 ATK 1400 / DEF 600 |
Dark Dimension [SR] Selection Box Vol.04 [SR]
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Red Gadget" from your Deck to your hand. |
Red Gadget | EARTH Machine ★4 ATK 1300 / DEF 1500 |
Dark Dimension [SR] Selection Box Vol.04 [SR]
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Yellow Gadget" from your Deck to your hand. |
Yellow Gadget | EARTH Machine ★4 ATK 1200 / DEF 1200 |
Dark Dimension [SR] Selection Box Vol.04 [SR] [SR]
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Green Gadget" from your Deck to your hand. |
You can put in some pendulum monsters in the deck to make special summoning multiple monsters more easily. The pendulum normal monsters are used in the deck because they are more easily searchable through Painful Decision + Tenki.
Performapal Odd-Eyes Minitaurus | DARK Beast-Warrior ★4 ATK 1200 / DEF 1600 |
Pendulum Genesis [N] | |
Pendulum Effect If your "Performapal" or "Odd-Eyes" monster attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. Monster Effect During damage calculation, if your Pendulum Monster attacks an opponent's monster: You can make that opponent's monster lose 100 ATK for each "Performapal" and "Odd-Eyes" card you control, during damage calculation only. |
Dragonpulse Magician | EARTH Spellcaster ★4 ATK 1800 / DEF 900 |
Magicians Arc [UR] | |
Pendulum Effect Once per turn, if you have a "Magician" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can discard 1 Pendulum Monster, then target 1 face-up monster on the field; destroy it. Monster Effect This boy magician has the gift of seeing the natural lines of energy that run through the earth, which his people call the Pulse of the Dragon. His exuberance and skill put him in high regard with his mentor, the "Dragonpit Magician". |
Dragoons of Draconia | EARTH Beast-Warrior ★4 ATK 1800 / DEF 200 |
Pendulum Genesis [R] | |
Pendulum Effect Once per turn, if a Normal Monster you control destroys an opponent's monster by battle, after damage calculation: You can add 1 Level 4 or higher Normal Monster from your Deck to your hand. Monster Effect Armed with muskets and iron spears, these mounted land troops of the Draconia Empire are feared by the Reptier Kingdom and other bordering nations. |
Sea Dragoons of Draconia | WATER Sea Serpent ★3 ATK 200 / DEF 2100 |
Pendulum Genesis [R] | |
Pendulum Effect When a monster is destroyed by battle: You can Special Summon 1 Normal Monster from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Sea Dragoons of Draconia" once per turn. Monster Effect Silently creeping in from the deep sea, elite black ops marine troops of the Draconia Empire wage an endless battle against the hated Principality of Dinon on the sea's opposite shores. |
Machina Fortress | EARTH Machine ★7 ATK 2500 / DEF 1600 |
Fortress of Gears [UR] | |
You can discard Machine-Type monster(s) whose total Levels equal 8 or more, then Special Summon this card (from your hand or Graveyard). If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy that target. Before resolving an opponent's monster effect that targets this face-up card, look at your opponent's hand and discard 1 card from their hand. |
Tin Goldfish | WATER Machine ★4 ATK 800 / DEF 2000 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your hand. |
Its effect is similar to a Silver/Gold Gadget's first effect to help with making a rank 4 XYZ. Main difference is that this has to be normal summoned, while the Silver/Gold Gadgets can activate even if they are special summoned.
This means you'll always want to start with summoning this, then bring out a Silver/Gold to also bring out another Gadget monster to end up with 3 monsters on the field.
Aether, the Evil Empowering Dragon | DARK Dragon ★6 ATK 2300 / DEF 1600 |
Selection Box Vol.01 Super Mini [SR]
Pendulum Effect Once per turn: You can banish 1 "Empowered Warrior" monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. Monster Effect When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 monster on the field; banish it. |
Only to be used for the monster effect, not the pendulum effect. Worst case scenario, it's basically another Caius the Shadow Monarch. But since it's a pendulum monster, you can bring this back every time it goes to the extra deck for multiple uses.
Archfiend Eccentrick | LIGHT Fiend ★3 ATK 800 / DEF 1000 |
Selection Box Vol.01 Super Mini [UR]
Pendulum Effect You can target 1 other Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy both it and this card. You can only use this effect of "Archfiend Eccentrick" once per turn. Monster Effect You can Tribute this card, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Archfiend Eccentrick" once per turn. |
Simply a spell/trap removal through its pendulum effect. It has more value if you use a deck that can pendulum summon, which lets you bring back Eccentrick for a quick and easy monster removal every turn.
Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon | EARTH Machine ★8 ATK 3000 / DEF 3000 |
Ancient Gear Awakening [UR]
If this card was Tribute Summoned by Tributing an "Ancient Gear" monster, if it attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. If this card was Tribute Summoned by Tributing a "Gadget" monster, it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase. If this card attacks, until the end of the Damage Step, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards, also monsters in your opponent's possession cannot activate their effects. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can destroy 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field. |
Has a small synergy with the Gadgets because it gains an effect, but there aren't ways to special summon this easily compared to focused Ancient Gear decks.
It can act as a pretty good boss monster since your opponent can't respond when it's attacking, and can also destroy spell/trap after the attack.
Super Polymerization | Quick Spell |
Skills [UR] | |
Discard 1 card; Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from either field as Fusion Material. Neither player can activate cards or effects in response to this card's activation. |
Only obtainable via the "Ultimate Fusion!" skill. Its effect is one of the strongest forms of removal in the game since it can bypass a lot of protection effects.
You can control the amount of damage that you take by using Kiteroid, or with Solemn Scolding.
If you are using this version of the deck, you'll want to prioritize getting Zombie World to your field/hand. This is the easiest way to ensure that you can use Super Poly on 2 of your opponent's monsters.
Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon | DARK Dragon ★8 ATK 3000 / DEF 0 |
Soul of Resurrection [UR]
2 Zombie-Type monsters Must first be Fusion Summoned. Monsters cannot be destroyed by battle with this card. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card battled a monster that has an original Level: That monster's ATK becomes 0, also, if that monster is still face-up on the field, Special Summon 1 "Dark Soul Token" (Zombie-Type/DARK/Level ?/ATK ?/DEF 0). (When Summoned, its Level and ATK become equal to the original Level and ATK of that monster.) You can only control 1 "Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon". |
While you can pretty much bring common fusion monsters in the meta to prepare when going against them, having Dragonecro and Zombie World instead makes it easier to ensure that you'll be able to use Super Poly against any deck, even if they have no fusion monster. This also only takes up 1 extra deck slot compared to bringing 1 of each commonly used fusion monster. Alternatively, you can bring Mudragon of the Swamp instead.
Dragonecro's effect is pretty good to deal some damage, regardless of their ATK. The effect will even work if you crash into your opponent's monster with higher ATK and Dragonecro is destroyed.
Schuberta the Melodious Maestra | LIGHT Fairy ★6 ATK 2400 / DEF 2000 |
Masters of Shadow [UR] Selection Box Vol.01 Super Mini [UR]
2 "Melodious" monsters During either player's turn: You can target up to 3 cards in any Graveyard(s); banish them, and if you do, this card gains 200 ATK for each. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field. |
Only bring this if Melodius are currently common in the meta. This is only usable when going against a Melodius deck, but it's strong enough to be worth it to bring.
It has a good effect of being able to banish 3 cards in your opponent's graveyard, and also makes it easier to remove multiple monsters your opponent controls, es[ecially Bloom Diva. Removing multiple monsters like this is really good so that you don't have to risk attacking your opponent's monster since they have a pretty strong handtrap that can reduce your ATK to 0.
Planet Pathfinder | EARTH Machine ★4 ATK 1000 / DEF 1000 |
Chaotic Compliance [N]
You can Tribute this card; add 1 Field Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. |
This is to help get to your field spells much faster. It's searchable with Gear Gigant X's effect, which is pretty easy to make. Planet Pathfinder is also a level 4 machine, so you can special summon this with Gold/Silver Gadget's effect.
Use Planet Pathfinder to search for Necrovalley to stop potential combos, or Zombie World if you are able to use Super Polymerization.
Kiteroid | WIND Machine ★1 ATK 200 / DEF 400 |
Card Trader [SR] | |
Activate when you discard this card from your hand during damage calculation after a direct attack. Any Battle Damage you would receive from that direct attack becomes 0. Only once, if you remove this card from the game when it is in your Graveyard, any Battle Damage you would receive from a direct attack becomes 0. |
Searchable with Gear Gigant X's effect. This helps prevent some OTKs and manage some damage taken so you can use certain skills.
Zombie World | Field Spell |
Bonz Lvl 23 Reward [SR] Duel Quest Event [SR] Ranked Rewards [SR]
All monsters on the field and in every Graveyard become Zombie-Type monsters. Neither player can Tribute Summon monsters, except Zombie-Type monsters. |
Only for the super polymerization version of the deck. This is mainly to ensure that you can use 2 of your opponent's monsters, regardless of their type or levels, to become a Dragonecro.
Necrovalley | Field Spell |
Selection Box Vol. 02 [UR] Dark Dimension [UR]
All "Gravekeeper's" monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF. Cards in the Graveyard cannot be banished. Negate any card effect that would move a card in the Graveyard to a different place. Negate any card effect that changes Types or Attributes in the Graveyard. |
It stops plenty of decks that rely on the graveyard effects to continue certain plays. Not a bad card to use in general if the deck that you use barely uses the graveyard.
Super Polymerization version of the deck uses Planet Pathfinder, which makes it more consistently easier to fetch this from the deck.
Fire Formation - Tenki | Continuous Spell |
Eternal Stream [SR] | |
When this card is activated: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. All Beast-Warrior-Type monsters you control gain 100 ATK. You can only activate 1 "Fire Formation - Tenki" per turn. |
For deck thinning so you can fetch either Dragoons of Draconia (low scale) or Minitaurus (high scale). Use this together with Painful Decision to search for the other scale so you can pendulum summon.
Painful Decision | Normal Spell |
Servants of Kings [SR] | |
Send 1 Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, and if you do, add 1 monster with the same name as that card from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Painful Decision" per turn. |
To search for the pendulum normal monsters and thin the deck. Together with Tenki, you can get a low-scale and high-scale pendulum monster pretty quickly.
Super Team Buddy Force Unite! | Normal Trap |
Spirit of the Beast [SR] Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [SR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or GY, with the same original Type as that monster's, but with a different original name. If this card in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Set 1 "Super Team Buddy Force Unite!" directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone. |
Special summon the Gadgets to help replenish resources and to make an XYZ. The effect of being able to get another copy from the deck is also quite helpful since spell/trap destruction cards or effects are pretty common. You can chain it to destruction effects but Gadget monster's effects will miss the timing.

The skill saves you an extra deck slot since you don't have to put Utopia Ray, and it also gives the deck an OTK potential if you get below 1000 LP.
The last part of the skill helps with putting a level 4 monster on the field without having to use your normal summon. If you don't have a handtrap like Kiteroid, then there aren't good ways to control LP loss, so it's more of a situationally useful skill that's good when it's available.
Number C39: Utopia Ray | LIGHT Warrior ★4 ATK 2500 / DEF 2000 |
Infinite Ray [UR] | |
3 Level 4 LIGHT monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Number 39: Utopia" you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; it gains 500 ATK and 1 monster your opponent controls loses 1000 ATK, until the End Phase. You must have 1000 Life Points or less to activate and to resolve this effect. |
Available via the skill without having to own a copy of it. If your LP is below 1000 and your opponent has a 3000 ATK monster or lower, then you can already get an OTK by making a Utopia Ray and activate its effect 3 times.
Number 39: Utopia | LIGHT Warrior ★4 ATK 2500 / DEF 2000 |
Shining Hope [UR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack. When this card is targeted for an attack, while it has no Xyz Materials: Destroy this card. |
Only go into this if you're planning to go into Utopia Ray. This can be useful as a stall card if you're desperate, but if your opponent still has 4000 LP, then you'll want the 3 Xyz materials from Utopia Ray in order to get an OTK.
Abyss Dweller | WATER Sea Serpent ★4 ATK 1700 / DEF 1400 |
Photons of Galaxy [UR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn. |
Generally useful since it can disrupt certain combos that relies on graveyard effects.
