How to Play

Magician Girls

The Magician Girls are good at two things, deck cycling during your turn and swarming during the opponent's turn. These two qualities work separately to let you set up both of your boss monsters' summoning.

Kiwi Magician Girl
Kiwi Magician Girl
WIND Spellcaster ★5
ATK 1800 / DEF 1200
Dark Dimension [R]
During either player's turn: You can discard this card; "Magician Girl" monsters you currently control gain 300 ATK and DEF for each "Magician Girl" monster with different names on the field and in the Graveyards, until the end of this turn. Spellcaster-Type monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects, and your opponent cannot target them with card effects.

Keep Kiwi in your hand to use as an ATK boost when your Magician Girls battle. This can be done during your turn, making use of your deck's swarming ability for significant damage. Or you can discard Kiwi as a battle trap when your opponent declares battle.

When you Normal Summon Berry, your opponent is likely to Fiendish Chain her to negate the search. When this happens you can use Berry's effect to Special Summon Kiwi from the deck and allow your search effect to go through. And from that point all your Spellcasters will be protected from targeting and destruction effects.

Chocolate Magician Girl
Chocolate Magician Girl
WATER Spellcaster ★4
ATK 1600 / DEF 1000
Dark Dimension [UR]
Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spellcaster-Type monster; draw 1 card. Once per turn, if this card is targeted for an attack: You can target 1 Spellcaster-Type monster in your Graveyard, except "Chocolate Magician Girl"; Special Summon it, then change the attack target to it, and if you do, the attacking monster's ATK becomes half its current ATK.

Chocolate has the standard "if attacked Special Summon a Spellcaster" effect, but hers is unique because it Special Summons from the graveyard. With this you can revive a Kiwi you previously discarded. You can also revive Berry to Special Summon more Magician Girls from your deck if your opponent doesn't cancel their attack.

Chocolate's first effect is good for cycling through your deck and loading Spellcasters into your graveyard. Spellcasters in your graveyard can later be revived by Chocolate or used as fusion material with Magicalized Fusion.

Apple Magician Girl
Apple Magician Girl
FIRE Spellcaster ★3
ATK 1200 / DEF 800
Dark Dimension [R]
Once per turn, if this card is targeted for an attack: You can Special Summon 1 Level 5 or lower Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand, then change the attack target to it, and if you do, the attacking monster's ATK becomes half its current ATK. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target up to 3 other "Magician Girl" monsters with different names in your Graveyard; add them to your hand.

When destroyed, Apple lets you recover Magician Girls from the graveyard. You would want to prioritize recovering Chocolate and Berry for their deck cycling ability, and then you want to recover Kiwi for her ATK boost effect. If you have Eye of Timaeus onhand you can recover DMG if you have the means to summon her, otherwise leave her in the graveyaard to revive with Chocolate's effect.

The downside of Apple in a standard build is her inablity to Special Summon DMG from your hand. So too many copies of Apple can hinder you from making DMG the Dragon Knight.

Berry Magician Girl
Berry Magician Girl
EARTH Spellcaster ★1
ATK 400 / DEF 400
Dark Dimension [SR]
If this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Magician Girl" monster from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when your opponent activates a card or effect that targets this card, or targets this card for an attack: You can change this card's battle position, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Magician Girl" monster from your Deck, except "Berry Magician Girl".

Berry essentially searches two Magician Girls from your deck. One search upon summoning, and one search when she is targeted by your opponent. This makes her great for thinning your deck and setting up Magicalized Fusion. You can also use her effect to search/Special Summon DMG from your deck to use with Eye of Timaeus.

When Chocolated is targeted for an attack, revive Berry. your opponent's attack will be redirected at Berry letting you Special Summon a Magician Girl from the deck. And at this point you're all setup for Magicalized Fusion.

Super Team Buddy Force Unite!

Super Team Buddy Force Unite!
Super Team Buddy Force Unite!
Normal Trap
Spirit of the Beast [SR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or GY, with the same original Type as that monster's, but with a different original name. If this card in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Set 1 "Super Team Buddy Force Unite!" directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone.

Since all your monsters are Spellcasters, Super Team Buddy Force lets you revive any monster for free. Generally the best monster to revive would be Chocolate to let you cycle the deck, you can also revive Lemon for this purpose but Chocolate is an overall better choice. If you have Eye of Timaeus onhand, revive DMG.

You can use Super Team Buddy Force in response to your opponent's destruction effect to revive Kiwi and protect your Spellcaster monsters.

(Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; shuffle it into the Deck. Once per turn, if the battle position of a monster(s) on the field is changed (except during the Damage Step): You can attach 1 Insect-Type monster from your Graveyard to this card as Xyz Material.

Note By Drustan:

Same decklist as the one I used for KOG this season except for one card: I swapped Chain Disappearance for Needle Ceiling. Both cards are in the backrow "bombs" category, but CD is mich more of a going 1st card which has more limited usefullness in the middle and endgame. NC on the other hand is more versatile, it is useful in the early game vs karakuri/blackwings/DM but can also save you in lost middle/endgame positions where your opponent has a full board. Finally, I've tested a 21card variant of this deck adding a Reserve Fusion, as Aleister is your win conditions enabler. What I found is that although the card helps in early/middle game, it reduces your probability of opening a starter + 2 defensive backrows (39% vs 44%), which is what you need either going first (either apple or aleister, apple is preferred most of the time unless you can go straight into a cocytus) or second.

Noted by Tristan:

Standard Invoked MG list with the addition of Debunk which gives value against most meta decks (noble, water, desperado, onomat, thunder, blue-eyes, darklords).

Invoked Engine

Aleister the Invoker
Aleister the Invoker
DARK Spellcaster ★4
ATK 1000 / DEF 1800
Dark Dimension [UR]
(Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY, then target 1 Fusion Monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK/DEF until the end of this turn. If this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: You can add 1 "Invocation" from your Deck to your hand.
Invocation
Invocation
Normal Spell
Dark Dimension [UR]
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand as Fusion Material. If Summoning an "Invoked" Fusion Monster this way, you can also banish monsters from your field and/or either player's GY as Fusion Material. If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 of your banished "Aleister the Invoker"; shuffle this card into the Deck, and if you do, add that card to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Invocation" once per turn.

Aleister and Invocation are a recyclable versatile 2-card fusion engine allowing you to splash them in multiple decks. Normal summon Aleister to search Invocation and then make a Fusion monster using the Aleister on your field as material. Return Invocation to the deck and recover Aliester to your hand. Aliester can then be discarded for a stat boost if needed or Normal Summoned during your next turn for another Fusion combo.

The varied attributes of your Magician Girls gives you access to all your Invoked Fusions no matter the match up.

Ritual Beast Engine

Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda
Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda
WIND Psychic ★4
ATK 1600 / DEF 1800
Spirit of the Beast [UR]
If this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card (by battle or card effect): You can Special Summon 1 "Ritual Beast" monster from your Deck or Extra Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions. You can only Special Summon "Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda(s)" once per turn.

The Ritual Beast Engine is another Extra Deck engine to fill up Extra Deck space. Basically you crash Winda into enemy monsters to get Ritual Beast Ulti monsters onboard. It doesn't really synergize with anything else in the deck, but straight up gives your deck an easy way of getting powerful monsters onboard.

Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio
Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio
WIND Pyro ★6
ATK 2600 / DEF 400
Spirit of the Beast [UR]
1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster + 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster
Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by banishing the above cards you control, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. (You do not use "Polymerization".) If this card attacks, it is unaffected by other cards' effects until the end of the Damage Step. During either player's turn: You can return this card you control to the Extra Deck, then target 2 of your banished monsters (1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster and 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster); Special Summon them in Defense Position.

Ulti-Apelio is basically the Ritual Beast Engine's counterpart to the Invoked Engine's Purgatrio. While Purgatrio is much more effective at dealing damage, Ulti-Apelio is less likely to be disrupted. Both monsters are good at offense but for differing reasons.

Ritual Beast Ulti-Pettlephin
Ritual Beast Ulti-Pettlephin
WIND Aqua ★6
ATK 200 / DEF 2800
Spirit of the Beast [R]
1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster + 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster
Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by banishing the above cards you control, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. (You do not use "Polymerization".) Cannot be destroyed by card effects. During either player's turn: You can return this card you control to the Extra Deck, then target 2 of your banished monsters (1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster and 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster); Special Summon them in Defense Position.

Ulti-Pettlephin is the Ritual Beast Engine's counter part to Invoked Engine's Cocytus. But with Cocytus currently banned, Pettlephin is your only defensive option. Set Winda and let your opponent destroy it by battle, then Special Summon Pettlephin to wall all subsequent attacks. It will also be somewhat annoying to remove because of its immunity to effect destruction.

Other Magician Girls

Dark Magician Girl
Dark Magician Girl
DARK Spellcaster ★6
ATK 2000 / DEF 1700
Tea Gardner Lv30 or more [UR]
Special Pack Vol. 02 [UR]
Tea's starter deck [UR]
Ranked Rewards [UR]
WCS 2018 Support Campaign [UR]
This card gains 300 ATK for every "Dark Magician" or "Magician of Black Chaos" in either player's Graveyard.

DMG is an important combo piece in a standard Magician Girl build. You want to get her on the field to target with Eye of Timaeus and make DMG the Dragon Knight. You also get access to Dark Burning Attack, which essentially destroys all your opponent's monsters.

Being the strongest Magician Girl, she is the ideal monster to summon when Chocolate or Lemon is targeted for an attack. Forcing the opponent to cancel the attack unless they battle with a monster having more than 4000 ATK. And when your turn comes around, you can use DMG for Eye of Timaeus.

Lemon Magician Girl
Lemon Magician Girl
LIGHT Spellcaster ★2
ATK 800 / DEF
Dark Dimension [N]
Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 "Magician Girl" monster, except "Lemon Magician Girl"; add 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, if this card is targeted for an attack: You can Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand, but its effects (if any) are negated, then change the attack target to it, and if you do, the attacking monster's ATK becomes half its current ATK.

Lemon's first effect is useful for cycling your deck if you have another Magician Girl to use as tribute. Use this search effect to get DMG onhand and later Special Summon when Lemon is attacked. Or you can search Kiwi for an ATK boost if you already have DMG onhand.

Lemon's second effect is only useful for summoning DMG, whose effect doesn't really matter in this deck. Special Summoning something like Chocolate or Kiwi would be a waste of their good effects.

Dark Burning Attack

Dark Burning Attack
Dark Burning Attack
Normal Spell
Tea Gardner Lvl 38 [SR]
Duelist Challenges [SR]
If you control a "Dark Magician Girl" monster: Destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls.

Can be activated if you control DMG or DMG the Dragon Knight. Since it is rare for your opponent to put significant monsters face-down, Dark Burning Attack will usually clear your opponent's monster zones, unless you're going against a deck like Subterror.

Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight

Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight
Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight
DARK Dragon ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 1700
Witchs Sorcery [UR]
"Dark Magician Girl" + 1 Dragon-Type monster
Must be Fusion Summoned with the above Fusion Materials or with "The Eye of Timaeus", and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard, then target 1 face-up card on the field; destroy that target.
The Eye of Timaeus
The Eye of Timaeus
Normal Spell
Guardians of Rock [R]
(This card is also always treated as "Legendary Dragon Timaeus".)
Target 1 "Dark Magician" monster you control; Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck that lists that monster on the field as a Fusion Material, using it as the Fusion Material. You can only activate 1 "The Eye of Timaeus" per turn.

DMG the Dragon Knight is the easier boss monster to summon in this deck. Get DMG on the field with any of your Magician Girls' effects, and then target that DMG with Eye of Timaeus. You can also get DMG on the field by purposefully taking 2000 or more damage during the opponent's turn and then using your Skill.

DMG the Dragon Knight's removal effect is good for getting rid of problem cards. The ability to activate it during your opponent's turn makes it great for disrupting Synchro combo pieces like Shiranui Squire and Dragunity Senatus. You can also remove problem cards, like Dark Magical Circle and Vision HERO Adoration, immediately after your opponent puts them on the field.

Apple can provide the costs to use for DMG the Dragon Knight's effect. You can even trigger Apple's recovery effect by destroying her yourself.

Quintet Magician

Quintet Magician
Quintet Magician
DARK Spellcaster ★12
ATK 4500 / DEF 4500
Dark Dimension [SR]
5 Spellcaster monsters
Must be Fusion Summoned. If this card is Fusion Summoned using 5 Spellcaster monsters with different names: You can destroy all cards your opponent controls. This face-up card on the field cannot be Tributed, nor used as Fusion Material, also it cannot be destroyed by card effects.
Magicalized Fusion
Magicalized Fusion
Normal Spell
Dark Dimension [R]
Fusion Summon 1 Spellcaster Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your field or GY. You can only activate 1 "Magicalized Fusion" per turn.

With only one copy and no way to search Magicalized Fusion, it can be somewhat unreliable. But it's still worth running with the Magician Girls' quick graveyard setup. Additionally the Magician Girls ability to quickly thin your deck, and the additional draw with Chocolate's effect lets you draw into Magicalized Fusion more consistently.

Summoning Quintet Magician will usually win you the Duel. The field wipe usually lets you attack directly with Quintet Magician. Even if your opponent has monsters that survive the field wipe, it is unlikely they can attack over Quintet Magician. Quintet Magician doesn't have to worry about Sphere Kuriboh because of his high DEF, and Bacon Saver/Kiteroid only stall him. Quintet Magician is also especially difficult to remove being immune to Lava Golem, Predaplant Chlamydosundew, and all destruction effects.

It certainly is one of the more mind-numbing decks to fight. If they're not summoning Quintet, it's Invoked Purgatorio. Definitely not the most interesting duel you could have.

would this deck be viable with silent magician involved?
<< Anonymous

I'll be honest with you: In this specific case the trap are the ones that carry the whole deck. You can add silent magician but you'll have to ditch either some magician girls or some traps (that you shouldn't since they are the real win condition)

ditch invoker maybe?
<< Anonymous

Could work, but Invoked gives you an extra win condition, without it it would just be silent magician smacking everything by herself.
Magician girls have close to no aggro capabilities (only with kiwi but it's a brick)

I've heard talk of Silent Magician in Fortune Ladies, but Magician Girls are better off with Aleister or Quintet since they're better at pushing for damage than Silent Magician is.

Rogue deck doesnt beat Shiras, Karakuris and Blackwings. The decklist of Hypershadow is Rogue because not optimal at all. the Invoked is top. Stay a copycat its not my problem. If Elementsaber was good the MG version has few advantages more, deck cycling and Quintet, with stall abilities.

An other point is Invoked Elementsaber needs the Field sPell to stall with Molehu, each time u want to use his Effect u have to discard a Elementsaber. Which is not the case with MGs who can stall for FREE, until Aleister comes.MG cycling effects allow to draw Aleister much quicker and to kick the opp. Believe what u want whatever guys
