This monster comes with a good attack stats that allows you to play around dangerous traps such as Mirror Wall and Wall of Disruption, if you attack into your opponent’s monsters that are in defense position.
This card’s effect can only be activated when this card is Normal Summoned, and only for 1 time. After that, it remains on your field as a 1800 beater, so it is better if we can enhance its ATK to make it useful as an attacking monster instead.
By flipping your opponent’s monster to face-up defense mode, you can decide whether to attack into it, this move allows you to play around monsters such as Yomi Ship, Warm Worm, Exploder Dragon, D.D Warrior which has destructive effects when being destroyed.
If you control these flip monsters, you can use Black Brachios to flip them face-up and use their effects. Except for Man Eater Bug, Medusa Worm and Guardian Statue can choose to flip themselves face-down, and be flipped face-up again, during the same turn. This way you can target multiple monsters from your opponent’s field to either destroy them or return them to hand.
Together with these position switching cards, Black Brachios can effectively combo with Tragedy in order to decimate your opponent’s monsters that are in Defense position. These position switching cards also function to protect Black Brachios and other monsters on your field.
Black Brachios is able to benefit from Dino-type support. Jurassic World to increase its attack and defense by 300 points, Fossil Excavation to return Black Brachios from the Graveyard to the field, and Hunting Instinct can be used to Special Summon Black Brachios, should your opponent Special Summons a monster. Fossil Dig can be used to search out Black Brachios from your deck.
