Yubel, a monster card that Jaden owned when he was still young, appears in the third season of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX as the main antagonist. It exists as a real Yu-Gi-Oh card as well. She's the guardian of Jaden's Ancestor, and Jaden is the reincarnation of his ancestor so she protected him as well. Until she was exposed to the Light of Destruction in outer space which drives her to insanity.
When Jaden was young, the card spirit Yubel was his dear friend. But Jaden sent Yubel into space, wishing the light of the universe would clear the darkness in Yubel's heart. Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect. But that doesn't change the fact that Jaden and Yubel have a deep connection that transcends time.
