How to Play

Revendread Slayer

Revendread Slayer
Revendread Slayer
DARK Zombie ★6
ATK 2400 / DEF 0
Curse of Dread [UR]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Vendread" Ritual Spell. Once per battle, if this card battles an opponent's monster, during damage calculation (Quick Effect): You can banish 1 Zombie monster from your GY; this card gains 300 ATK. If this Ritual Summoned card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand, and if you do, send 1 "Vendread" monster from your Deck to the GY. You can only use this effect of "Revendread Slayer" once per turn.

In order to fully take advantage of Revendread Evolution, you can use it to Summon Revendread Slayer. Revendread Slayer is a Level 6 Ritual Monster that, if sent to the Graveyard, allows you to add a Ritual Spell from your Deck to your hand and then send a “Vendread” monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. You can use Slayer’s effect to add Revendread Origin or Revendread Evolution to your hand and then send a “Vendread” Ritual Monster, Vendread Houndhorde, Vendread Strikes, Vendread Core or Vendread Anima to the Graveyard.

Once per battle, if Revendread Slayer battles an opponent’s monster, you can banish a Zombie monster from your Graveyard to increase its ATK by 300. Revendread Slayer will not lose this ATK boost unless it’s flipped face-down, and you can activate this effect multiple times during the same Battle Phase.

Revendread Executor

Revendread Executor
Revendread Executor
DARK Zombie ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 0
Curse of Dread [R]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Vendread" Ritual Spell. This card's name becomes "Revendread Slayer" while on the field. While this Ritual Summoned card is on the field, your opponent cannot target cards you control with card effects, except this card. If this Ritual Summoned card is destroyed by battle, or is destroyed by an opponent's card effect while in its owner's Monster Zone: You can add 1 "Vendread" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Revendread Executor" once per turn.

It's not ideal to make Executor with Revendread Evolution because his effect won't be triggered after self-destructing. Instead, make Executor using Revendread Origin because you want him to stay on the field.

Vendread Battlelord

Vendread Battlelord
Vendread Battlelord
DARK Zombie ★7
ATK 2700 / DEF 0
Curse of Dread [R]
Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [R]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Vendread" Ritual Spell. You can banish 1 "Vendread" card from your GY and declare 1 type of card (Monster, Spell, or Trap); for the rest of this turn, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects of that type. If this Ritual Summoned card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand, and if you do, send 1 "Vendread" monster from your Deck to the GY. You can only use each effect of "Vendread Battlelord" once per turn.

Battlelord allows you to lock your opponent out of activating either monster, spell or trap effects for the remainder of the turn at the cost of banishing a Vendread card from Graveyard while on the field. Also, you can add any Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand when this Ritual Summoned card is sent to the Graveyard.

Vendread Effect Monsters

Vendread Revenants
Vendread Revenants
DARK Zombie ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 200
Curse of Dread [SR]
If this card in your possession is destroyed by an opponent's card (by battle or card effect) and sent to your GY: You can Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. A "Vendread" monster Ritual Summoned using this card on the field gains this effect. You can only use the preceding effect of "Vendread Revenants" once per turn.
● Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 Special Summoned monster your opponent controls; banish it.

If a “Vendread” monster is Ritual Summoned using a face-up Vendread Revenants, it gains the ability to target a Special Summoned monster your opponent controls and banish it. Works great against practically any deck due to the popularity of Extra Deck toolboxes. Counters the Invoked Engine, Ritual Beast Engine, Elemental HERO Brave Neos, and Desperado Barrel Dragon.

Vendread Houndhorde
Vendread Houndhorde
DARK Zombie ★3
ATK 0 / DEF 2100
Curse of Dread [R]
If this card is in your GY: You can discard 1 "Vendread" card; Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. A "Vendread" monster Ritual Summoned using this card on the field gains the following effect. You can only use each of the preceding effects of "Vendread Houndhorde" once per turn.
● Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; banish it.

If a “Vendread” monster is Ritual Summoned using a face-up Vendread Houndhorde, it gains the ability that similars to Cosmic Cyclone's effect which targets a Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls and banish it without LP Cost. This is a quick effect so it can be used in response to the card's activation, even before the opponent is able to make use of its effect.

Vendread Striges
Vendread Striges
DARK Zombie ★2
ATK 500 / DEF 2000
Curse of Dread [R]
If this card is sent to the GY: You can reveal 1 "Vendread" card in your hand; Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. A "Vendread" monster Ritual Summoned using this card on the field gains the following effect. You can only use each of the preceding effects of "Vendread Striges" once per turn.
● After damage calculation, if this card battled an opponent's monster: You can draw 1 card, then discard 1 card.

Vendread Striges allows you to Special Summon it from the graveyard by revealing a Vendread card in your hand. This can help you quickly build a field of monsters to use for Vendread Ritual Summoning. In addition, any Vendread monster Ritual Summoned using this card gains an effect that allows you to draw a card and then discard a card after it battles an opponent's monster. This can be a useful effect for gaining card advantage and setting up your graveyard for future plays.

Vendread Anima
Vendread Anima
DARK Zombie ★1
ATK 0 / DEF 0
Curse of Dread [N]
You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 of your banished "Vendread" monsters, except "Vendread Anima"; Special Summon it, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Zombie monsters. A "Vendread" monster Ritual Summoned using this card on the field gains the following effect. You can only use each of the preceding effects of "Vendread Anima" once per turn.
● Banish any monster destroyed by battle with this card.

Vendread Anima, on the other hand, can be a good card to have in your graveyard, as it can be removed to bring back a banished Vendread monster (except Vendread Anima). This can help you to recycle key monsters and continue your Ritual Summoning strategy. In addition, any Vendread monster Ritual Summoned using this card gains an effect that allows you to banish any monster destroyed by battle with it. This can be a useful effect for removing threats from your opponent's field and disrupting their strategy.

Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands

Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands
Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands
LIGHT Fairy ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1000
Maximum Gustav [SR]
When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: You can add 1 Ritual Monster or 1 Ritual Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

To help get a Vendread Ritual Spell or Monster from the deck.

Samurai Skull

Samurai Skull
Samurai Skull
DARK Zombie ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 0
Generation Next [R]
Selection Box Vol. 01 Mini [R]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 Zombie monster from your Deck to the GY. If this face-up card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Zombie monster from your Deck, except "Samurai Skull".

As opposed to Gozuki, Samurai Skull only lets you mill once upon Normal Summon, this will allow you to dump 1 Vendread Monster for activating its effect.

However, one aspect where this card is better than Gozuki is its floating effect. This means your field won't be left defenseless after Samurai Skull is removed via card effect.

Revendread Evolution

Revendread Evolution
Revendread Evolution
Ritual Spell
Curse of Dread [R]
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Vendread" Ritual Monster from your hand or GY. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or send 1 "Vendread" monster from your Deck to the GY, whose total Levels equal the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. The Ritual Summoned monster is destroyed during the End Phase of the next turn. You can only activate 1 "Revendread Evolution" per turn.

For the ritual cost, milling is always the best option in terms of cost-effectiveness. Make Slayer; At the end of the opponent's turn he will be destroyed by Evolution's effect, triggering his search effect.

Revendread Origin

Revendread Origin
Revendread Origin
Ritual Spell
Curse of Dread [SR]
Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [SR]
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Vendread" Ritual Monster from your hand or GY. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or banish Zombie monsters from your GY, whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. If "Revendread Slayer(s)" you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.

Revendread Origin is another Ritual Spell that can be used to Ritual Summon any “Vendread” Ritual Monster from your hand or Graveyard. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or banish Zombie monsters from your Graveyard, whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you intend to Summon.

The graveyard effect is good for giving your boss monsters some staying power. Since Revendread Executor’s name becomes “Revendread Slayer” while it’s on the field, you can use Revendread Origin to protect it. It’s also notable that you can use Origin’s effect to protect multiple copies of Revendread Slayer, which is relevant against Desperado Barrel Dragon and Treacherous Trap Hole.

Vendread Nights

Vendread Nights
Vendread Nights
Field Spell
Curse of Dread [N]
You can discard 1 card; add 1 "Vendread" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Vendread Nights" once per turn. When your "Vendread" monster destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can banish 1 "Vendread" monster from your GY; it can attack an opponent's monster again in a row.

Vendread Nights is a great Field Spell, acting as both a searcher and a damage enabler. The search effect can occur once per turn so this can be a reliable way of fetching the resources you need.

It’s unfortunate that Vendread Nights cannot search Revendread Evolution and Revendread Origin, but it does allow you to add any “Vendread” Ritual Monster to your hand without expending your Normal Summon and it can also be used to search non-Ritual “Vendread” monsters you will use for ritual cost.

Aside from giving you access to any monster of the archetype, Vendread Nights also allows your “Vendread” monsters to attack multiple times during the same Battle Phase. You do need to banish a “Vendread” monster from your Graveyard in order to activate this effect and you can only do it if your opponent controls another monster that you can attack, but it’s still a nice addition to what would already be an undeniable inclusion to the deck.

Burning Abyss Extra Decks

Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss
Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss
LIGHT Spellcaster ★6
ATK 2500 / DEF 1000
Fantastic Arc [SR]
Selection Box Vol.06 [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
You can only control 1 "Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss". Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Burning Abyss" card, then target 1 card your opponent controls or in their Graveyard; shuffle it into the Deck. If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Virgil, Rock Star of the Burning Abyss" once per turn.

Has a 2500 base ATK and Virgil's floating effect when he is destroyed and sent to the grave, you will get to use the draw effect.

Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal
Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal
LIGHT Fairy ★6
ATK 2500 / DEF 2800
Heart of Xyz [SR]
Selection Box Vol.06 [SR]
2 Level 6 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by sending 1 "Burning Abyss" monster from your hand to the Graveyard, then using 1 "Dante" monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If Summoned this way, the following effect cannot be activated this turn. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; send 1 card from your Deck to the Graveyard. If this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Burning Abyss" monster from your Extra Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

Act as a Graveyard Setup Combo Enabler in this Deck. Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal (Speed 2 effect) works great and can allow you to send Vendread monsters like Vendread Striges, Vendread Anima, or Vendread Houndhorde to the Graveyard during your opponent's turn which can let you set up the board easier and faster.

Galaxy Xyz Monsters

Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Heart of Xyz [UR]
3 Level 8 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, except "Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can target up to 2 Equip Cards equipped to this card; attach them to this card as Xyz Materials. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy it.

Can be Xyz Summon using Cipher Dragon. Good for Face-up Card Destruction which is good for Monster Removal and Face-Up Backrow Removal for sometimes.

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Phantom of Rebellion [UR]
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; monsters you control cannot attack your opponent directly for the rest of this turn, except this card, also take control of the targeted monster until the End Phase, but while this effect is applied, it has its effects negated, its ATK becomes 3000, also its name becomes "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon".

A potential OTK card if your opponent controls 1 or 2 monsters. This almost works like Number 70: Malevolent Sin since it lets you direct attack if your opponent only controls 1 monster.

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★9
ATK 3200 / DEF 2800
Heart of Xyz [SR]
3 Level 9 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 8 "Galaxy-Eyes" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. If this Xyz Summoned card is destroyed by your opponent's attack or card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can target 1 "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Can be Xyz Summon using Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon. Unlike Galaxy-Eyes Full Armor Photon Dragon with Face-Up Card Removal limitation, Cipher Blade can remove any 1 card on the field which is good for getting rid of some backrow that will disrupt your combo or Big Boss monsters with bigger ATK stats than any of your monsters.

LINK Monsters

Knightmare Unicorn
Knightmare Unicorn
DARK Fiend
ATK 2200 / LINK 3
Future Circuit [UR]
2+ monsters with different names
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 card on the field; shuffle it into the Deck, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Unicorn" once per turn. While any co-linked "Knightmare" monsters are on the field, for your normal draw in your Draw Phase, draw 1 card for each different card name among those co-linked "Knightmare" monsters, instead of drawing just 1 card.

This Link 3 Knightmare Monster not only allows you to shuffle 1 card on either player's board back into Deck (this effect will prevent some card effect trigger action for Graveyard/Floating effect) when it is Link Summoned. Unicorn's co-linked effect will allow you to have 1 Card Draw.

Avendread Savior
Avendread Savior
DARK Zombie
ATK 1600 / LINK 2
Lord of Borrel [SR]
2 Zombie monsters
This card's name becomes "Revendread Slayer" while on the field. You can only use each of the following effects of "Avendread Savior" once per turn.
● You can target 1 "Vendread" card in your GY; add it to your hand.
● During damage calculation, if this card battles an opponent's monster (Quick Effect): You can send 1 Zombie monster from your Deck to the GY; that opponent's monster loses ATK equal to the Level of the monster sent to the GY x 200, until the end of this turn.

A Link 2 Vendread monster provides immense support for the deck, which can allow you to add any Vendread card from the grave to hand. This effect can help you to recycle ritual spells or any Vendread monsters for next combo.

Knightmare Cerberus
Knightmare Cerberus
EARTH Fiend
ATK 1600 / DEF 2
Selection Box Vol.06 [SR]
2 monsters with different names
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Special Summoned monster in your opponent's Main Monster Zone; destroy it, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Cerberus" once per turn. Co-linked monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects.

A Link 2 Knightmare Monster owns Special Summoned Monster Removal Effect by discarding 1 card. Cerberus's co-linked effect will allow you to have 1 Card Draw and Card Effect Destruction Protection.

Knightmare Phoenix
Knightmare Phoenix
FIRE Fiend
ATK 1900 / DEF 2
Future Circuit [SR]
2 monsters with different names
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy it, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Phoenix" once per turn. Co-linked monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle.

Similars to Knightmare Cerberus but Backrow Removal Effect by discarding 1 card (this effect can combo with Joker's Straight). Phoenix's co-linked effect will allow you to have 1 Card Draw and Battle Destruction Protection.

Link Disciple
Link Disciple
LIGHT Cyberse
ATK 500 / DEF 1
Link Revolution [R]
1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster
You can Tribute 1 monster this card points to; draw 1 card, then place 1 card from your hand on the bottom of the Deck. You can only use this effect of "Link Disciple" once per turn.

Used as Filter Draw by tributing 1 monster this card points to; usually used to get rid of Knightmare Corruptor Iblee that was special summoned to your field by the opponent.

Other Cards Option

Djinn Demolisher of Rituals

Djinn Demolisher of Rituals
Djinn Demolisher of Rituals
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1500 / DEF 600
PvP Duel: Turbo Duel Grand Prix [SR]
Duelist Chronicles GX: Society of Light [SR]
Tabletop RPG: Monster World Event [SR]
New Week Campaign! [SR]
When you Ritual Summon a monster, you can banish this card from your Graveyard as 1 of the monsters required for the Ritual Summon. If a player Ritual Summons using this card, that Ritual Summoned monster cannot be targeted by the card effects of the other player.

Djinn Demolisher being a Level-3 monster works well with Houndhorde as exact tributes for Slayer. Demolisher also has the added benefit of giving the summoned Ritual monster protection from enemy targeting effects; which is good because targeting effects are quite common.

Vendread Core

Vendread Core
Vendread Core
DARK Zombie ★1
ATK 0 / DEF 500
Curse of Dread [N]
If this card is in your GY: You can banish 1 other Zombie monster from your GY; Special Summon this card, but banish it when it leaves the field. A "Vendread" monster Ritual Summoned using this card on the field gains the following effect. You can only use each of the preceding effects of "Vendread Core" once per turn.
● Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects.

If Vendread Core is in your Graveyard, you can banish another Zombie monster from your Graveyard to Special Summon it. All non-Ritual “Vendread” monsters can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, but, when they leave the field, if they were Special Summoned by their own effect, they are banished.

Having these monsters face-up on the field is really important because, if they are used to Ritual Summon a “Vendread” monster, that monster gains an additional effect. If a “Vendread” monster is Ritual Summoned using a face-up Vendread Core, your opponent cannot target that monster with card effects. Note that, if your Ritual Monster is flipped face-down or is banished via World Legacy Clash, it’s going to lose any additional effect.

Tuner

Glow-Up Bloom
Glow-Up Bloom
DARK Zombie ★1
ATK 0 / DEF 0
Curse of Dread [UR]
If this card is sent to the GY: You can banish this card from your GY; add 1 Level 5 or higher Zombie monster from your Deck to your hand, or, if "Zombie World" is in a Field Zone, you can Special Summon it from your Deck instead, also, in either case, you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except Zombie monsters. You can only use this effect of "Glow-Up Bloom" once per turn.

For the Synchro Version, you can simply mix Glow-Up Bloom into the Deck for a Tuner. Normal Summon Glow-Up Bloom and pair it with any of your monsters, even your Ritual monsters, to make a Synchro. Glow-Up Bloom also has extra utility in the graveyard, letting you search your Ritual monsters.

Mr.K
Stegocyber actually doing very well in vendread deck. 1. Stegocyber is a level 6 monster, which fulfill the tribute for revendead slayer.
2. Your slayer get caught in trap hole, and cant even flip it? Just tribute it if this card in your hand. You got the eff, and secure the spell card.
3. For consistency purpose, some players use Master of rites I instead of Master of rites II. This card cost eff trigger Master of Rites I. You also got level 6 monster to be tributed on the top of it.
4. If you use glow up bulb zombie, tou can use stegocyber ( after it summoned ) to synchro summon black rose dragon. Considering you pay the cost earlier, you also secure a ritual spell with skill, along with ritual monster from glow up bulb with a clear field.

Now we should wait patiently for shiranui to make this deck able to synchro summon from GY

That’s bs, this deck is high tiered. Players just don’t use it as often because it’s harder to put together due to it being expensive.

It's less expensive than a good chunk of the top decks, so that's clearly not the reason why...

I started building this deck when I started playing again during the fall KCC. As soon as a I finished it, I named it V for Vendreadda. My deck varies from this list a bit, but hey, it got me KoG, so I think it’s fine.

this fell off the tier list quickly

Easy to build.
However, I hate that movie called V for Vull🔥.

it's controlled opposition financed by the UK government.

There's ALWAYS gonna be a future content, so you'll just gonna ends up never using your gems for anything.

Anyway, to the OP, if you like Ritual, then go for it. Otherwise, go for something else you actually like instead.

This deck is 1 month old (or a bit more) I think the best box is Valhalla Calling. Decks from main boxes stay as meta pretty much FOREVER and I don't give a single f* if another random dude says the opposite. I won't change my opinion.

Not sure why people say Darklords always beat Vendreads. I usually ending up banishing their spells/monsters before they get a chance to set up their board. Funny story, my opponent managed to set up their graveyard with all their DLord monsters, but since I had V-Nights played, I just keep using its effect to make continuous attacks every time they revieved their monster, until they ran out of LP. Attacked directly for game lol.

I’m just happy this deck claps on Yubel. Saw that deck a bunch in the KC cup, but luckily, ritual cage ruins their day. Along with all the other protections that Vendreads have. Just keep banishing all their 🔥.

I see no problems with this deck and beat it many times with my Blue eyes deck, except when the opponent summoned some monster and started to banish my cards twice a turn (during my phase and his). I do not know what to do after that.

I don't agree. It is not that difficult to summon Vendread ritual monster using either Houndhorde or Revenants. The key is that you can discard all the rituals mosnters to the graveyard (and still summon them later) to add cards you want to the hand. Yeah, still it sometimes bricks if you get 3x Slayer and 2x Battlelord in the starting hand, but hey which deck doesn't brick from time to time.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
You just usually have to chose between banishing monsters and backrow removal (whether to use revenants or houndhorde) but you decide based on the deck you face and you're fine
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
For example you can discard Houndhorde with Vendread Nights and search Revenants from the deck, then special summon Houndhorde from the graveyard by discarding Slayer and normall summon Revenants. Then you ritual summon Slayer using both Revenants and Houndhorde. All in one turn

is this deck still good after the new box?

It is. But got down in the tier list since new Darklord can easily beat Vendread
