KOG Magician Girl Deck by BlueDelta

Introduction

This Invoker version was inspired by Dkayed, which I modified to match my personal preferences.

Skill

[Skill] descriptionUser
Mind Scan
From the third turn and onward, you can see the opponents card as long as your Life Points are 3000 or Higher.
Maximillion Pegasus
Maximillion Pegasus

Since this Deck features quite a lot of search and draw power I completely forgo skills to draw specific cards like Destiny Draw or Draw Sense: DARK.

Having no options for backrow removal can sometimes be a hindrance, but various popular decks like Lightsworns or Thunder Dragons don’t even use backrow.

Additionally, Mind Scan allows you to see the backrow and Set Monsters once you make it to the 3rd turn of the duel. This way, you can play around certain cards. Since my version contains no Cosmic Cyclone or other cards to trigger the aforementioned skills, depending on loss of life points, Mind Scan also falls in line with the theme of the deck, aka establishing a strong board presence.

Opening Strategy

Berry Magician Girl allows for a good opening move on your first turn as it is virtually impossible to get off a non-targeting card removal for the opponent during turn 2.

It is still a viable play if you go second versus Dark Magician, as you can summon another Magician Girl from the deck when the effect of Dark Magical Circle triggers after using Magician Navigation.

Avoid it versus Cyber Dragon due to Cybernetic Overflow featuring non-targeting destruction. Another option for your first turn play is to open up with Invoked Cocytus (also guarantees it won’t get hit by Floodgate Trap Hole). In most cases, the best Pick-up with the search effect of Berry Magician Girl is another one, since it cannot Special Summon itself.

Berry Magician Girl
Berry Magician Girl
EARTH Spellcaster ★1
ATK 400 / DEF 400
Dark Dimension [SR]
If this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Magician Girl" monster from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when your opponent activates a card or effect that targets this card, or targets this card for an attack: You can change this card's battle position, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Magician Girl" monster from your Deck, except "Berry Magician Girl".
Invoked Cocytus
Invoked Cocytus
WATER Dragon ★6
ATK 1800 / DEF 2900
Dark Dimension [R]
"Aleister the Invoker" + 1 WATER monster
Cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects. Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects. This card can attack while in face-up Defense Position. If it does, apply its ATK for damage calculation.

Apple Magician Girl

Apple Magician Girl
Apple Magician Girl
FIRE Spellcaster
ATK 1200 / DEF 800
Dark Dimension [R]
Once per turn, if this card is targeted for an attack: You can Special Summon 1 Level 5 or lower Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand, then change the attack target to it, and if you do, the attacking monster's ATK becomes half its current ATK. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target up to 3 other "Magician Girl" monsters with different names in your Graveyard; add them to your hand.

Apple mainly serves the purposed of initiating your Purgatrio plays but can come in handy sometimes to Special Summon more monsters.

Tech Cards

Backrow

Flood Gate Trap Hole and Paleozoic Canadia are responsible for switching Monster with weak DEF values into DEF position, permanently or temporarily.

Floodgate Trap Hole
Floodgate Trap Hole
Normal Trap
Generation Next [UR]
When your opponent Summons a monster(s): Change that monster(s) to face-down Defense Position. Monsters changed to face-down Defense Position by this effect cannot change their battle positions.

Flood Gate Trap Hole is especially effective versus Shiranui Synchro as they do not feature Monster with levels above 4 in their main deck, their only way to get it off the field is with Shiranui Solitaire.

Paleozoic Canadia
Paleozoic Canadia
Normal Trap
Valiant Souls [UR]
Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change it to face-down Defense Position. Once per Chain, when a Trap Card is activated while this card is in your Graveyard: Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (Aqua-Type/WATER/Level 2/ATK 1200/DEF 0). (This card is NOT treated as a Trap Card.) If Summoned this way, this card is unaffected by monster effects, also banish it when it leaves the field.

Paleozoic Canadia is more flexible than Flood Gate Trap Hole, but since it targets it can be countered more easily. Once it is Special Summoned onto the field, it can be used as Fusion Material for Invoked Cocytus. Both traps have the additional purpose of disrupting Synchro plays.

Draw Engine

Wonder Wand
Wonder Wand
Equip Spell
Card Trader [SR]
Equip only to a Spellcaster-Type monster. It gains 500 ATK. If you control the equipped monster and this card: You can send both to the Graveyard; draw 2 cards.

Wonder Wand can be safely used on Aleister the Invoker, as banishing him from the GY works just as well as executing banishment off the field with the added bonus of drawing 2 cards. In rare instances, Wonder Wand can be used on Chocolate Magician Girl to get over weak Level 4 or lower Monsters.

Beater

Invoked Purgatrio
Invoked Purgatrio
FIRE Fiend ★8
ATK 2300 / DEF 2000
Aerial Assault [UR]
"Aleister the Invoker" + 1 FIRE monster
This card gains 200 ATK for each card your opponent controls. This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.

Purgatrio presents your main striking power with its inherent ATK buff, piercing damage and attacks on all enemy monsters, but features no self protection. Use it with caution.

Notable Cards

Aleister the Invoker [UR]

Aleister the Invoker
Aleister the Invoker
DARK Spellcaster ★4
ATK 1000 / DEF 1800
Dark Dimension [UR]
(Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY, then target 1 Fusion Monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK/DEF until the end of this turn. If this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: You can add 1 "Invocation" from your Deck to your hand.

Invocation [UR]

Dark Dimension [UR]
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand as Fusion Material. If Summoning an "Invoked" Fusion Monster this way, you can also banish monsters from your field and/or either player's GY as Fusion Material. If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 of your banished "Aleister the Invoker"; shuffle this card into the Deck, and if you do, add that card to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Invocation" once per turn.

I don't know. But people need to be watch it. If they just keep putting endless trap hell as the default skill for everything like it seems to be lately then it could end up being next on the banlist.

Even if ETH never gets to be that popular it should be nerfed, it is a +1 for doing absolutely nothing

This deck is completely walled off by anything that is immune to destruction by battle, among a host of other monsters that would cause it problems. Personally, I'd suggest using Quintet.

Yeah with Quintet is better.
