Overview

Bonz appeared as one of the antagonists in the original series of Yu-Gi-Oh! First seen in Duelist Kingdom tournament as one of Bandit Keith's servants. Bandit Keith just used him to extract his revenge against Pegasus. Later in the series, he was seen in a cemetery before the Battle City finals. He's tricking people to gain their cards.

Description in the game

Bonz puts the fright in his foes with a Ghost Deck full of Zombies. Though he faithfully served Bandit Keith during Duelist Kingdom, his loyalty was rewarded with betrayal when Bandit Keith ditched Bonz after losing to Joey Wheeler. Bonz also entered in the Battle City Tournament, but Yami Bakura quickly spooked him out of the prelims.

This effect continues until your 4th turn after the card is activated.

At first I wanted to say: "That's his drop list, not his Starter Deck. His Starter Deck will surely have CotH"

But then seeing that Pumpking is a UR (ROFLMAO!!!): yeah, seems we won't get CotH, seems Pumpking's his UR.

Not sure as for the first gx event the news outright states obtain a new legendary duelist for what we can assume his event is the news doesn't say we can obtain him

Hey! Skill leaks y'all! Looks to me like Bonz will be unlockable, due to the fact there is a Wasteland skill and a Zombie World skill leaked, along with what I assume is a Draw Sense: Zombie. Oh, and a "posthumous legion" skill, which sounds like it could be really good. So yeah. Even though he comes at the time of the month when it's usually just a roaming duelist, if I anticipate the skills correctly, then he'll be unlockable.

I read the announcement that this event comes along with boring-ass yugi muto unlock event. I'm not sure if they're going to put 2 unlock events on the same week.

Yes, this bit of news seems to indicate that, regardless of Zombie-focused skills being uncovered, Bonz is going to be roaming. Shame too---I was looking forward to using him.

Oozy imagine the animation if his signature IS Pumpking...
Graveyard at night, some creepy fog starts to roll in and the ground trembles then BOOM BOOM BOOM! Vines start shooting upward from underground then slam back down onto the surface, then up rises Pumpking with bits of dirt falling off

Yes I'm aware pumpkins don't grow underground, but I think all this would be AWESOME

I don't think it'll be an unlockable character. It doesn't say anywhere that it's a new unlockable character coming to Duel Links.

I disagree. If it said duel him for treats or something like that then I might believe it. I feel in an effort to keep it short yet word it to imply he is tied into the overall Halloween theme and likely will represent the holiday season for Duel Links similar to the way the main NPC of a holiday event hosts said event in other online games, they likely didn't use the word obtainable.

Obviously they could simply not have him unlockable, but they xould have made it more obvious by adding a line of text telling you to duel him for trick or treats. They did not but rather hinted at and implied his holiday tie in. That changed the sentence structure and I believe they fekt it was extra to add, "and he will be obtainable." Usually we are told to duel for rewards or something similar

I mean, he's really kind of forgettable. He doesn't have a real deck, we just know he likes the Cyber Commander, a lvl 2 normal DARK Machine monster with 750 attack. Not much else to say. It would be nice to see him, but I don't think he'd be that good as a playable character.
