NOTES

The GameA Tier List is primarily based on King of Games decks submitted by users and performance in Tournament.

Tier list

Decks in Tier 1 and 2 are ones that are known to have achieved good success against other decks/players.

Meta decks

Meta decks are decks that are often commonly used by players in PvP. Meta decks will often change depending on newer cards or strategies, so we will keep updating this page often to keep everyone informed of newer decks.

Tier 0

Tier 0 decks are decks that completely dominate a meta and you either play the same deck or a deck that completely counters it (but loses to almost any other deck).

There are currently no Tier 0 decks

Tier 1

These decks are very well rounded. They have ways to deal with almost every deck and have very few weaknesses themselves.

I really don't understand what's going on in ranked now. I can't get out of gold 1 with the exact same deck i used last season to get to legend 2. I just don't understand this..

I just started running a standard relinquished deck again and it's beating alot of the new decks no problem.

omg don't run relinquished, there's too many counters. I smile every time I see a relinquished deck, I know I'm going to win

Just saying he's still awesome. Just carry lost of flip sideways cards to protect him. Everyone in the game runs 3 econ cuz it's brutally op so u just need to be ready for it. I'm finding my fiend Farwell relinquished deck to be almost unstoppable. Relinquished being a level 1 is ridiculous and should be changed.

I'm in the same boat. Hoping the pvp season will chill out a bit by the middle of the month.

Can someone please explain to me the idea behind the meta not being diverse?
Looking at the tier 1 list alone there are 14 of 15 decks that are being played competitively.
The idea that the meta isn't competitive must be put in relation to something, generally the tcg, as the tcg is the most relatable card game to duel links.
So, assuming we relate it to duel links because, the two are the most relatable comparitively to other card games, we can look at the list of top meta decks, then we can look at the number of players that play the aforementioned decks.
In the tcg there are only 5 notable decks payed within tournaments: Zoodiac (337 players), True Draco(86), Paleozoic (30), Windwitch (29), and True King Dino (28). (The next closest being a mere 9 people)
Duel links on the other hand has a more even spread of players(not to say there isn't a skew). On the ranked ladder you will find Red Eyes, Ninja, naturia, Phoenix, control, invader, hammer shark, toon, mill, etc.( this list not including any rogue decks or tier 2 decks)
So in comparison duel links is truly diverse, and while some decks are played more than others, it is undisputable that the duel links has, in some compacting, diversity. Id like to note a discrepancy in my own argument, the comparison made to the tcg. The tcg might not be the most compatible partner but to my knowledge it is.

no it's just people who have never played a game with any sort of competitive form before complaining about nothing
<< Anonymous

You won't see people complain about meta much in games like dota, as they made rapid updates and changes to balance for the better. Its very hard for yugioh because of its relationship with the physical game. They cannot reprint a whole set of cards to balance to some cards, thats a major problem.
<< Anonymous(J)
Anonymous Reply
Tier lists in yugioh are different than tiers lists in a fighting games. In yugioh tiers lists really are just literally guides. You could still potentially come up with a deck that no one else has thought of and destroy people. Additionally, even with decks of a certain archtype it's unlikely for multiple players to have identical decks.

And that's why I stopped playing the tcg, and starting playing duel links. The tcg meta is just stupid.

I swear gold is just the hardest tier right now. I.m only facin guys who made it to kog and legend last season. I swear legend was nowhere near as tough as is gold right now. fml. And everyone is using red eyes and phoenix. 0 creativity gg

Probably the best to wait til mid-late season. The people who tryhard their way to KoG in the first few weeks are gone and the people who wait til the very end also aren't there
<< Anonymous

Agreed. Platinum is a hell zone. I play red eyes balance but since everyone else does too its impossible to get out. And im plat 4. not playing ranked that much but still would like to get to legend at least.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Pretty sure legend is basically the same decks as platinum it's just ppl who have played more and got luckier. Card games always come to luck when skilled players play them. Only way to change that would be allowing people to chose their deck card order. But that would be a mess.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
legend is slightly harder because ppl get more serious and sometimes you face legend2or3 players, it's probably the legend 1 ppl that take a break there that makes u think it's same as plat
Betrayal4Life
I find it funny that not only do they not have the best deck listed under tier1, they don't even have it listed at all. Invader mausoleum with destiny draw skill is the best deck ATM if you have the skill to play the deck that is

I think is time to update the list, some decks are falling behind with the new cards added with the Yugi Muto event.

I really want to see a good insect deck
<< Anonymous
Anonyboy Reply
Worm Bait can help you pull off an Insect Uprising. The best method I can think of to pull off Insect Uprising with a buff monster (unless you ALREADY have all the pieces of Ultimate Insect) is to summon Pinch Hopper, use Worm Bait, Insect Uprising, ram into an enemy (if the enemy is still too big), and summon Metal Armored Bug. Also set cards like Stanch Defender, which can be surprisingly OP.
<< Anonymous(Anonyboy)
Parasite Reply
I am running an (ultimate)insect uprising deck atm. It is really strong if the opponent doesn't run target removal.

ps. You can't summon Pinch Hopper and activate Worm Bait in the same turn.
<< Anonymous(Parasite)
SureThingHD Reply
I have an insect deck and I tried to use worm bait to tribute summon the tokens and summon Metal Armored Bug and it would not let me. Now I use insect multiplication but i'm not sure if that's a better alternative. Anyone got some advice?
<< Anonymous(SureThingHD)
Anonyboy Reply
Problem with Insect Multiplication is that you cannot use the tokens for a tribute summon. Worm Bait has been the most effective method I've seen so far. I personally believe that Ultimate Insects are going to be a significant help to Insect Uprising Decks.

I've used this deck to get from rookie to legend in 2 days. If you have any suggestions on how to make this deck any better, I'm open for it^^

Why do you run Knight of the Red Lotus if you only have 2 normal monsters in your deck?? Replace it and one of you Unicorn spell with 2 Goka

<< Anonymous

Since the 2 gemini Monsters are treated as normal monsters, i have 4 normals in my deck ^^
