Deck tier list

NOTES

The GameA Tier List is primarily based on King of Games decks submitted by users.

Tier list

Decks in Tier 1 and 2 are ones that are known to have achieved good success against other decks/players.

Meta decks

Meta decks are decks that are often commonly used by players in PvP. Meta decks will often change depending on newer cards or strategies, so we will keep updating this page often to keep everyone informed of newer decks.

Tier 0

Tier 0 decks are decks that completely dominate a meta and you either play the same deck or a deck that completely counters it (but loses to almost any other deck).

No deck can currently be classified as Tier 0

Tier 1

These decks are very well rounded. They have ways to deal with almost every deck and have very few weaknesses themselves.

Koa'ki Meiru is a very explosive and aggressive deck that can usually OTK most opponents on Turn 2. The fact that this deck is so popular right now should come as no surprise: the ability to end games so quickly and its overall consistency makes it a perfect pick for climbing in PvP. The deck can struggle to put up a decent board on Turn 1, which makes it an easy target for other aggressive decks.

Dino Survival's End

Tier
1
Cost
Budget

This Control Deck has completely monopolized PvP lately, boasting, quite frankly, amazing results and carrying an incredible amount of people to KoG. Being so accessible and easy to build is certainly a big part of the appeal of this Deck, but that’s not to say that its spot on the Tier List is not deserved.

Geartown Turbo

Tier
1
Cost
Expensive

Geartown Turbo is a relatively recent addition to the game. This deck is able to Summon multiple 3000 ATK monsters with the ability to disable the opponent’s backrow on attack declaration in a single turn, quickly overwhelming the opponent and ending games.

Quick chart

Geartown Turbo
Expensive1

Tier 2

Tier 2 decks have a bit more weaknesses than tier 1 decks but your opponent needs to draw them early on.

Karakuri Synchro

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

Karakuri Synchro is a remarkably powerful and consistent Deck. Karakuri Anatomy allows you to replenish the resources spent on Synchro Summoning and draw through your Deck.

Koa'ki Meiru

Tier
1
Cost
Expensive

Since both Koa'ki Meiru Urnight and the now Limited Koa'ki Meiru Maximus require Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru in order to function, it would be impossible to run less than two copies of it, which pretty much means that this deck doesn’t have access to Enemy Controller, Hey, Trunade! and Treacherous Trap Hole anymore.

Sure, Koa'ki Meiru Maximus can still be added to the hand via Diamond Core of Koa'ki Meiru, but, if you don’t have Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru, you can’t Special Summon it and, due to the fact that you only have two copies of that Spell Card in your entire Deck, you are not that likely to open with it. Consistency has definitely dropped, but Diamond Core alone can keep everything together.

Masked HERO

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

Masked HERO is another deck that didn’t really get any worse: Mask Change and Masked HERO Anki are able to generate early OTKs and Destiny HERO - Decider is a fantastic card against Geartown Turbo and even Buster Blader. Destiny HERO - Celestial’s presence in the Semi-Limited List makes this Deck unable to run cards such as Hey, Trunade! and Enemy Controller freely.

Tier 3

These decks are very strong but have either one big, or a lot of weaknesses.

Buster Blader DNA Surgery

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

Buster Blader is able to directly counter any Deck that revolves around Dragon-Type monsters thanks to Destruction Swordsman Fusion. DNA Surgery also allows this Deck to significantly hinder, if not completely shut down, Silent Spellbook, Silent Swordsman, Karakuri Synchro and even Dino Survival’s End.

Silent Spellbook

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

Silent Spellbook is one of the few Decks that really doesn’t mind going first. Silent Magician and Spellbook of Fate are an incredibly solid combination to open with and Silent Magician LV8 can be a quite problematic card to deal with due to its extremely high ATK. When the Deck doesn’t open with Silent Magician, it is notably weaker and going second can actually be detrimental in certain matchups.

Vampire

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

Samurai Skull’s addition to the Semi-Limited List essentially forces this Deck to run three copies of Gozuki in order to be consistent while also making Enemy Controller less of an obvious inclusion. Vampire is still a really strong Deck, it’s just not as consistent and versatile.

And so, Komoney hits two free decks right out of Tier 1, and what takes its place? Ancient P2W Gears. This is why they're called Komoney. RIP Koa'kis and Vampires, you were too good for this game.

I also love the "These decks (Spellbooks and Vampires) have been viable too long, so we hit them to freshen up the PvP" excuse Komoney spewed, and yet Masked Hero FTK still remains alive, well, and untouched.

Masked Hero has been hit twice already. They first hit Vyon and then hit Celestial next.

But yeah, the hits are largely useless as the deck can still function well even with no Vyon at all and just 2 Celestial.

And they don't want to hit Heroes too much, because Japanese players love them.

Yeah you have no idea how crazy the japs are when it comes to heroes

I wonder why people really fail to understand almost ANY deck can reach King of Games during this last week of the month. Hazy flames, Ice Barrier, Psychics, Morphtronics, Flying Fish, X sabers, Aromages, plenty of non-meta decks.

People here are dumb. They aren’t willing to improve and call every deck they lost to broken.

I have all but the undying nightmare card but I use Typhoon and Wild Tornado as replacements which are less useful sometimes lol. I’m stuck in Leg 1 and can barely get a 2-3 win streak going. Let alone 5 to rank up. Is the meta unhealthy? You could say it may seem that way to F2P players. Even the casual spenders, but not everyone will hit KoG every season sadly. I’m sure AG and Yubel will be suggested to get hit on the ban list, but only time will tell after the next KC Cup I’d guess at this point. Just my personal opinion on the meta.
Anonymous 2days ago
I wonder if spellbook will remain as tier 3 after the banlist, probably not. Anyway, that deck has been budget and competitive for technically 1 year, not bad

It will be pretty much out of the meta, but it was viable for so long as you just said. So, its not really a problem
Madolche tier 0 2days ago
I made it to Kog with Madolche
lol I know it's kinda late in the season but I actually misplayed sometimes. I guess the deck is more than capable

It seems like Sartorius is bringing another META deck
Anonymous 2days ago
Does anybody know when are they gonna enable the "limited to 3 card feature"?
I'd say that's gonna improve duel links a lot and will make every single card crucial
Anonymous 2days ago
So what happened lol
Are they gonna release a new box or something? lol
Anonymous 2days ago
Ive seen like 8-9 king of games decks featuring Madolche @Duel Links Meta. Weird there are not many listed here

No way is AG tier 1! It loses hard to Yubel Nephthys and that is all people are playing on the ladder atm, especially at Legend. Every cuck and their dogs are playing Yubel, lockdown, no skill bs imo
