NOTES

The GameA Tier List is primarily based on King of Games decks submitted by users.

Tier list

Decks in Tier 1 and 2 are ones that are known to have achieved good success against other decks/players.

Meta decks

Meta decks are decks that are often commonly used by players in PvP. Meta decks will often change depending on newer cards or strategies, so we will keep updating this page often to keep everyone informed of newer decks.

Tier 0

Tier 0 decks are decks that completely dominate a meta and you either play the same deck or a deck that completely counters it (but loses to almost any other deck).

No deck can currently be classified as Tier 0

Tier 1

These decks are very well rounded. They have ways to deal with almost every deck and have very few weaknesses themselves.

Blue-Eyes Cosmo

Tier
1
Cost
Expensive

After A Trick Up the Sleeve was changed, Blue-Eyes Cosmo Brain lost its incredible consistency together with its competitive viability, but the introduction of The White Stone of Ancients has brought this deck back to life. Snipe Hunter can enable quick OTKs on Turn 2, Dawn Knight can send The White Stone of Ancients to the Graveyard directly from the Deck and Beatdown! allows you to overwhelm pretty much any opponent.

Red-Eyes Fusion

Tier
1
Cost
Premium

Six Samurai Synchro

Tier
1
Cost
Expensive

Shien's Dojo being added to the Semi-Limited List has certainly hindered this deck, but not nearly enough to completely kill it. With its ability to, once per turn, negate the activation of a Spell/Trap Card, Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En is still an incredibly powerful monster that can disrupt your plays and that this deck is able to bring out with almost unparalleled consistency.

While it’s true that Treacherous Trap Hole is a lot more difficult to implement, the “Six Samurai” archetype can always fall back on its own version of the Trap Card: a Trap Card that you always need to keep in mind whenever you are facing this deck.

Subterror

Tier
1
Cost
Moderate

Masked Tribute has definitely played a big role when it comes to the success of this deck and, while it’s true that similar situations haven’t lasted so long in the past, that’s not enough of a reason to dismiss Subterrors from the Tier List.

Subterror decks can be quite threatening, but they are also quite fragile whenever their Trap Card, Subterror Final Battle, is not available: they are unable to interact with the opponent and can easily get OTKed by aggressive decks such as Blue-Eyes and Koa'ki Meiru. Besides of that, Subterror may not be Top Tier Deck after the latest Duel Links Forbidden & Limited card implemented on 26 July 2019.

Tier 2

Tier 2 decks have a bit more weaknesses than tier 1 decks but your opponent needs to draw them early on.

Geartown Turbo

Tier
2
Cost
Expensive

Geartown Turbo’s popularity is definitely tied to the steady rise “Control” decks have seen lately. Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon’s ability to shut down the opponent’s back row on attack declaration makes potentially devastating Trap Cards such as Drowning Mirror Force and Wall of Disruption completely useless.

Koa'ki Meiru (Neos Fusion)

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

Since both Koa'ki Meiru Urnight and the now Limited Koa'ki Meiru Maximus require Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru in order to function, it would be impossible to run less than two copies of it, which pretty much means that this deck doesn’t have access to Enemy Controller, Hey, Trunade! and Treacherous Trap Hole anymore.

Sure, Maximus can still be added to the hand via Diamond Core of Koa'ki Meiru, but, if you don’t have Iron Core, you can’t Special Summon it and, due to the fact that you only have two copies of that Spell Card in your entire Deck, you are not that likely to open with it. Consistency has definitely dropped, but Diamond Core alone can keep everything together.

However, the consistency of Koa'ki Meiru Deck might be getting lower after the latest Duel Links Forbidden & Limited card implemented on 26 July 2019.

Metaphys

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

Metaphys Daedalus’s ability to banish all other face-up Special Summoned monsters on the field and Metaphys Tyrant Dragon’s immunity to Trap Cards make Metaphys a quite powerful deck that can easily stand up to Tier 1 and Tier 2 decks like Six Samurai and Blue-Eyes. Consistency is pretty good, but, even with Metaphys Dimension, the deck lacks ways of interacting with the opponent during their turn.

Silent Spellbook

Tier
3
Cost
Expensive

The increased consistency granted by the new Skill Light and Dark, which pretty much doubles the chances of having a Silent Magician in the opening hand, Silent Magician’s ability to negate the activation of Spell Cards like Neos Fusion and Red-Eyes Fusion and Spellbook of Fate still being an incredibly powerful card are all factors that certainly contributed to the return of this deck. Silent Spellbook is now more relevant and, thanks to the WCS 2019 Support Campaign’s UR Dream Ticket, more accessible.

Agreed. I think Mushroom man and Raigeki are on the same level. All cards are created equal!

What? I was agreeing with you. A truly skilled duelist will be able to get just as much value out of Mushroom Man as Raigeki! It's all about how you use the cards!

Sooo guys..after playing for 9 months, today I decided to delete this game. I was already thinking about it for a while but this week's event covinced me the game isn't worth playing . I've built a great deck, and was super excited about it. I went from plat 1 to plat 5 with 16 wins in 18 games. I had a win streak of 14 and only lost to toons. I t looked like I came up with an own deck that will wasily take me to kog. The next 3 days tho my win rate dropped to like 40%, and I went back to plat 1(I had a win streak of 8 in this period too tho). So that made me realise how stupid the ranked system is. Skill doesn't matter almost at all. It.s almost only about luck. Your starting hand, the cards you draw, Your opponent's cards, your opponent's starting hand. I even think now, kog is for those players that are lucky enough to get good matchups and starting hands. I don't believe it's because they play well. You can reach kog or be stuck in plat 1 with the exact same deck. Luck plays a way bigger factor in this game than it should in my opinion. And this weakness of the game is even more emphasised by the ranked duel system. Getting 5 wins in a row requires a fckin lot of luck, no matter how good your deck is. You can have the godliest deck and may still not be able to get to kog just because of how much luck kog requires. I really think the current format needs some serious change. it should be rather like win 4 games outta the last 5 and promote. This consecutive win thing is bullshit. Win rate should be the thing that matters, not the luck that is required to win 5 games in a row

Lmao you probably just played his deck badly. Technical play is super important for getting kog. It's so easy if you understand how to play the game well lmao.

What about doing a magic approach? Where you can sack your whole hand once for a redraw and if you decide to sack your hand again you loose a card? It would relieve a bit of the starting hand problem and gives you a fairer shot of not getting a trash hand
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I'm sorry but how didn't you realise this game is heavily shaped around luck at the very start? Like it's a card game... hello?
The whole point of kog is to be difficult to reach it. Why would it be easy?

Wow masked hero is in the meta for almost 7 months. Nicely done Konami, glad I bought the deck back in the day and Zero regrets so far. I won't really bother if you limit it soon or whatsoever, I already have my Buster Blader deck (purchased it with gems!). But this deck will remain forever as one of my very favorites.

Interesting...
Strange, people usually hate the most popular deck... or should I say: "Those who plan to boycott duel links always hate the most popular deck while claiming to be "the general public"(?),

Promoting hate against the most popular decks makes the boycott easy, that's how they plan to get rid of a competitor in the market and push their own game.

It has happened to Microsoft as well.
Do you Remember that: "XBOX has no games rant"?. It was created to deceive the general public and boycott Microsoft, so they can push the sales of their HUGE multinational corporations such as Sony.

Lol this is by far the best meta we've had. I'm seeing a lot of different decks lately: Subterrors, Metaphys, Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes, Koa'ki Meiru, buster blader, amazoness, U.A. and even fur hires. The game has improved a lot.

I stopped playing for a couple of months and came back about 1 week ago.

- Easy King of Games
- Easy DLV MAX

• No trick up the Sleeve
• No canadia
• No Breaker the Magical Warrior
• Bought it with gems (Purchase history shown at the end of the video)
• You can get a third copy of Dragon Spirit of White with Tickets.

• This of course means, the game is not 'Time demanding' at all. Decks who were released months ago can be 100% competitive.

Almost all my duels are shown here:
https://youtu.be/RvYVAPWGUvc

• Hope the video entertains you. (Before you say something funny, I upload videos like... every 2 months, I'm not a content creator.)

Koaki is the first tier 0 deck
far more dangerous than fure hire or sylvans before their nerf
staples like fth canadia dmf wod wr cc do nothing against koakis
you have to play spellbooks to negate diamond core but even so you will lose most of the games

Cyber Angels were introduced way too early and as a result were completely OP for their time, but not so much anymore since they are so vulnerable to backrow. At this point Koa'kis are better. They are probably some of the most annoying decks to face, right next to Anki OTK and Silvans. Fur hires were never as bad as this, and amazoness was pretty much f2p. Shouldn't have been nerfed imo.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
The only deck worse than Koa'ki to face are annoying wevil parasyte garbage and, god forbid, bamboo OTK back in the day.
<< Anonymous(A)

I'm hesitating to buy packs to make a Koa'ki deck because I know it'll be inevitable that Konami will nerf that deck to shit next month. That's how it always happens. Happened to me with CA, Silvans, fur hire and SSA, and will happen to Koakis too, you just know it. What even is the point in trying to build a meta deck as f2p when it'll be nerfed next month :/
Dave
I think I have a serious question for the haters of this deck. What is the point of releasing new decks if you are not going to play with them?, sylvans came out, you didn't play them, amazoness were released, you didn't play them either, and now these cats "fur hire" arrived and you still complain. What do you want?, perhaps you want a very exclusive deck, highly expensive, but then you'll have the excuse to call duel links "pay to win". It seems to me, that the most noob among noobs want to condition people's opinion, our opinion. The deck is cool and fun to play and also not very expensive.
<< Anonymous(Dave)
DF-Gi-Oh Reply
Because EVERYONE uses it. And is not like the deck is fair, if you encounter someone using the deck, just surrender because you can't do ANYTHING against it. The worst part is that is a deck of furries.
<< Anonymous(Dave)
ReviveAllMetas Reply
^ K, so guys this is the conclusion.
New Meta --> complaint --> nerf --> new meta --> complaint --> nerf --> and so on till we dont have enough gems to spend unless we pay $$$ for it.
This is what konami wants, and they are laughing right NOW !
<< Anonymous(Dave)
Anonymous Reply
well, there are plenty of free to play decks in duel links, you don't really need the last deck to win as long as you know how to play.
If you don't know this fact, well, maybe you are not a player :o

The thing is, Konami treats Anti-Meta players with wanton disregard, and tell others they try to make a diverse meta...
