The Main Event: Gouki
At the beginning of the Duel, add 1 "Gouki Suprex", 1 "Gouki Twistcobra", and 1 "Gouki Riscorpio" to your Deck, unless you already have 3 copies of the respective card. Then, add 1 "Gouki The Great Ogre" to your Extra Deck.
The following effect can be used once per Duel: Select 1 "Gouki The Great Ogre" you control. Until the end of your opponent's next turn, that monster will not be destroyed in battle. Also, during your opponent's next turn, your opponent cannot select another monster as an attack target while that monster is face-up on the field.

How to Play

Gouki Monsters

These Gouki Monsters are essential cards in the Gouki deck. Their effect to add a "Gouki" card from your deck to your hand upon being sent to the GY also helps with maintaining resources and searching for key cards.

Gouki Suprex
Gouki Suprex
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 0
Flames of the Heart [UR]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Gouki" monster from your hand. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Gouki" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Gouki Suprex". You can only use this effect of "Gouki Suprex" once per turn.

Gouki Suprex can special summon another "Gouki" monster from your hand upon normal summon, which helps with setting up your board and combos.

Gouki Riscorpio
Gouki Riscorpio
EARTH Warrior ★5
ATK 2300 / DEF 0
Flames of the Heart [SR]
If you control no monsters, or all monsters you control are "Gouki" monsters, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Gouki" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Gouki Riscorpio". You can only use this effect of "Gouki Riscorpio" once per turn.

Gouki Riscorpio has the potential to be normal summoned without tributes if you control no monsters or only "Gouki" monsters. This allows for quick setup and plays, and its search effect when sent to the GY also helps with consistency.

Gouki Twistcobra
Gouki Twistcobra
EARTH Warrior ★3
ATK 1600 / DEF 0
Flames of the Heart [SR]
(Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 "Gouki" monster, then target 1 "Gouki" monster you control; it gains ATK equal to the original ATK of the Tributed monster until the end of this turn. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Gouki" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Gouki Twistcobra". You can only use each effect of "Gouki Twistcobra" once per turn.

Twistcobra is a good monster to Special Summon with Suprex to prepare its effect. Twistcobra can tribute Suprex to boost his own ATK above most monsters. As a quick effect, this can be done during your opponent's turn to disrupt an opponent's attack, and can also be done to make use of a Gouki targeted by your opponent's effect. Twistcobra's effect can be used to trigger Goukis' search effect, so it can be worth keeping him on the field.

Gouki Headbatt
Gouki Headbatt
EARTH Warrior ★2
ATK 800 / DEF 0
Flames of the Heart [R]
Selection Box Vol.02 Super Mini [R]
If this card is in your hand: You can send 1 other "Gouki" monster from your hand to the GY, then target 1 "Gouki" monster you control; Special Summon this card in Defense Position, and if you do, the targeted monster gains 800 ATK until the end of this turn. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Gouki" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Gouki Headbatt". You can only use each effect of "Gouki Headbatt" once per turn.

Gouki Headbatt's Discard Effect gives the Targeted Gouki Monster 800 ATK Boost and also swarms himself on the field for an Extra LINK Material.

Gouki Octostretch
Gouki Octostretch
EARTH Warrior ★1
ATK 0 / DEF 0
Flames of the Heart [R]
Selection Box Vol.02 Super Mini [R]
If your opponent's monster attacks, during damage calculation (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; the damage you take from that battle is halved. When your opponent activates an effect that would inflict damage to you (even during the Damage Step) (Quick Effect): You can discard this card; the damage you take from that effect is halved. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Gouki" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Gouki Octostretch". You can only use this effect of "Gouki Octostretch" once per turn.

Gouki Octostretch will save you from OTK or Effect Damage Kill by the Opponent.

Reinforcement of the Army

Reinforcement of the Army
Reinforcement of the Army
Normal Spell
Starter/Special Set Bundle Sale [UR]
Add 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior monster from your Deck to your hand.

Reinforcement of the Army gives a big advantage to Gouki Deck which can allow you to search out 1 Gouki Monster from your Deck for combo setup board as soon as possible.

Gouki Re-Match

Gouki Re-Match
Gouki Re-Match
Normal Spell
The Gore at Lvl 21 [UR]
Target 2 "Gouki" monsters in your GY with different Levels; Special Summon them in Defense Position. You can only activate 1 "Gouki Re-Match" per turn.

Re-Match allows you to get enough Fodder on board to go for the Extra LINK Plays.

Gouki Finishing Move

Gouki Finishing Move
Gouki Finishing Move
Normal Spell
The Gore [SR]
Target 1 "Gouki" Link Monster you control; it gains ATK equal to its Link Rating x 1000 until the end of this turn, also if it attacks a Defense Position monster this turn, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. For the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot declare attacks, except with "Gouki" monsters. You can only activate 1 "Gouki Finishing Move" per turn.

Gouki Finishing Move will make your Gouki LINK 3 (Great Ogre and Thunder Ogre) or 4 (Master Ogre) monster have over 5000-6000 ATK or 7000-8000 ATK if you control Twistcobra plus Pierce Damage Inflict when it comes to attacking a monster in DEF Position.

Techs

Mystical Space Typhoon
Mystical Space Typhoon
Quick Spell
Antinomic Theory [UR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [UR]
Target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that target.

A Quick-Play Back-row Removal that deals with your opponent's back-rows so that you can more safely summon your monsters or attack.

Book of Moon
Book of Moon
Quick Spell
Chaotic Soldiers [UR]
Selection Box Vol.04 [UR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; change that target to face-down Defense Position.

Book of Moon is an extremely versatile card that fits the control aspect of this deck. Flipping a monster face-down exposes weak DEF stats and is a good way of turning off continuous effects. Additionally, combos that involve Synchros and Xyz require the monster to be face up so this is a good way to disrupt them. Against Noble Knights, you can use this to get rid of their equips.

Dark Hole
Dark Hole
Normal Spell
Future Circuit [SR]
Destroy all monsters on the field.

Act as Monster Removal. Don't worry about destroying your Gouki Main Deck Monsters since their Floating Effect will help you to get certain sources for combo setup.

Expendable Dai
Expendable Dai
Normal Trap
Future Circuit [SR]
Tribute 1 Warrior monster, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it, and if you do, draw 1 card.

Similar effect to Ballista Squad but gives an Extra 1 Draw and Warrior-Type monster required which makes this card works pretty well in this Deck since Gouki monsters are Warrior-Type.

Link Extra Decks

Borreload Dragon
Borreload Dragon
DARK Dragon
ATK 3000 / DEF 4
Lord of Borrel [UR]
3+ Effect Monsters
Neither player can target this card with monster effects. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; it loses 500 ATK/DEF. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this effect's activation. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card attacks an opponent's monster: You can place that opponent's monster in a zone this card points to and take control of it, but send it to the GY during the End Phase of the next turn.

Borreload Dragon is a powerful card and its ability to avoid being targeted by monster effects can make it difficult for opponents to get rid of it. Its Quick Effect to reduce the ATK/DEF of a face-up monster on the field can weaken an opponent's monster, making it easier to destroy. Additionally, its ability to take control of an opponent's monster can be a game-changer and allow for more damage to be dealt to the opponent.

Knightmare Unicorn
Knightmare Unicorn
DARK Fiend
ATK 2200 / DEF 3
Future Circuit [UR]
2+ monsters with different names
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 card on the field; shuffle it into the Deck, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Unicorn" once per turn. While any co-linked "Knightmare" monsters are on the field, for your normal draw in your Draw Phase, draw 1 card for each different card name among those co-linked "Knightmare" monsters, instead of drawing just 1 card.

This Link 3 Knightmare Monster not only allows you to shuffle 1 card on either player's board back into Deck (this effect will prevent some card effect trigger action for Graveyard/Floating effect) when it is Link Summoned. Unicorn's co-linked effect will allow you to have 1 Card Draw.

Knightmare Mermaid
Knightmare Mermaid
WATER Fiend
ATK 1000 / DEF 1
Card Trader [UR]
1 "Knightmare" monster, except "Knightmare Mermaid"
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card; Special Summon 1 "Knightmare" monster from your Deck, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Mermaid" once per turn. Monsters on the field lose 1000 ATK/DEF, unless they are co-linked.

Used as LINK Summon Tech by using Knightmare Corruptor Iblee that is special summoned by the opponent to your field due to her own effect.

Gouki The Master Ogre
Gouki The Master Ogre
EARTH Warrior
ATK 2800 / DEF 4
Future Circuit [SR]
2+ "Gouki" monsters
Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can return to the hand any number of "Gouki" monsters you control that this card points to, then target the same number of face-up cards your opponent controls; they have their effects negated until the end of this turn. This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. If your opponent controls a face-up monster(s), this card can only target their monster with the highest ATK for attacks (your choice, if tied).

A LINK 4 Gouki Monster's effect is good for disrupting your opponent's strategy by negating the effects of the opponent's key cards moreover this effect is a Quick Effect which means you can activate it during the opponent's turn.

Gouki Thunder Ogre
Gouki Thunder Ogre
EARTH Warrior
ATK 2200 / LINK 3
The Gore [UR]
2+ "Gouki" monsters
If a monster(s) this card points to is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can make this card gain 400 ATK. The turn player applies the following effect while this monster is on the field.
● During their Main Phase, they can Normal Summon 1 monster from their hand to their zone this card points to, in addition to their Normal Summon/Set. (They can only gain this effect once per turn.)

Thunder Ogre's first effect allows it to gain 400 ATK whenever a monster that it points to is destroyed by battle or card effect, making it a potentially strong attacker. It also makes you gain an additional normal summon of 1 Gouki Monster to this card points to, this will let you can quickly swarm the field with multiple monsters for powerful Link Summons.

Gouki The Great Ogre
Gouki The Great Ogre
EARTH Warrior
ATK 2600 / LINK 3
Link Revolution [SR]
2+ "Gouki" monsters
All monsters on the field lose ATK equal to their original DEF. If this card would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can destroy 1 of your monsters this card points to instead.

Great Ogre's effect can make All monsters on the field lose ATK equal to their DEF. This is a huge impact if you face against Galaxy-Eyes as they have solid high ATK and DEF, so Great Ogre can reduce them to a more manageable size, making it easier for your Gouki monsters to take them out.

Knightmare Phoenix
Knightmare Phoenix
FIRE Fiend
ATK 1900 / DEF 2
Future Circuit [SR]
2 monsters with different names
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy it, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Phoenix" once per turn. Co-linked monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle.

Similars to Knightmare Cerberus but Backrow Removal Effect by discarding 1 card. Phoenix's co-linked effect will allow you to have 1 Card Draw and Battle Destruction Protection.

Gouki Jet Ogre
Gouki Jet Ogre
EARTH Warrior
ATK 2000 / LINK 2
The Gore at Lvl 3, 14, and 25 [SR]
2 "Gouki" monsters
Once per turn: You can target 1 "Gouki" card you control; destroy it, and if you do, change all monsters on the field to face-up Attack Position. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can make all "Gouki" monsters you currently control gain 500 ATK until the end of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Gouki Jet Ogre" once per turn.

The first effect of Gouki Jet Ogre allows you to change all monsters on the field to face-up Attack Position. This can be useful for several reasons, such as getting over monsters with higher DEF, activating certain effects that require Attack Position, or simply increasing the amount of damage you can deal to your opponent.

The Floating Effect also can be a nice boost to your monsters' ATK and can help you deal more damage to your opponent.

Other Useful Cards

Hand Effect

Gouki Iron Claw
Gouki Iron Claw
EARTH Warrior ★2
ATK 1000 / DEF 0
Flames of the Heart [R]
During the Damage Step, when your "Gouki" monster battles an opponent's monster (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY; until the end of this turn, your monster gains 500 ATK, and if it does, it is unaffected by your opponent's card effects. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 "Gouki" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Gouki Iron Claw". You can only use each effect of "Gouki Iron Claw" once per turn.

Gouki Iron Claw is different from other Gouki because you do not want him on the field, instead you want to keep him in your hand where he can make use of his effect. The ATK boost is good for attacking over slightly stronger monsters, but the effect immunity is much more useful because it allows you to ignore battle traps such as Sea Stealth Attack.

Other Techs

Cosmic Cyclone
Cosmic Cyclone
Quick Spell
Galactic Origin [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 01 Mini [UR]
Special Set Bundle Sale [UR]
Pay 1000 LP, then target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; banish it.

There has always been a need for back row removal in Duel Links, and the option to do it at Spell Speed 2 and non-destruction tech effect can shut down those back rows with destruction protection.

Necrovalley
Necrovalley
Field Spell
Dark Dimension [UR]
All "Gravekeeper's" monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF. Cards in the Graveyard cannot be banished. Negate any card effect that would move a card in the Graveyard to a different place. Negate any card effect that changes Types or Attributes in the Graveyard.

This Gouki deck has a very straightforward beatdown play style. To compliment this play style we also use control cards that hinder your opponent from using their effects.

This deck doesn't interact with the graveyard in any way, so Necrovalley will only serve to prevent your opponent from interacting with their graveyard.

Fiendish Chain shuts down monster effects which helps deal with your opponent's combo starter and boss monster. It also prevents your opponent's monster from attacking if you want to use Fiendish Chain as a battle trap.
This Gouki deck is also very susceptible to Fiendish Chain, but that can be dealt with by Cosmic Cyclone and Ballista Squad.

Warning Point
Warning Point
Normal Trap
Link Revolution [UR]
When a monster(s) is Summoned: This turn, that face-up monster(s) cannot attack, its effects are negated, also it cannot be used as material for a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summon.

Great Discruptive Trap by negating 1 face-up monster's effect with block attack while it is Summoned, also prevent it from being using as Extra Deck Summon material.

Ballista Squad
Ballista Squad
Normal Trap
Fortress of Gears [UR]
Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it.

Ballista Squad removes an opponent's card from the field while also activating your Gouki search effect. Use a Gouki about to be removed by your opponent's effect as tribute to waste their removal. Ballista Squad is also one of the ways this Gouki deck can deal with your opponent's backrow.

Fiendish Chain
Fiendish Chain
Continuous Trap
Selection Box Vol. 03 [UR]
Shining Hope [UR]
Activate this card by targeting 1 Effect Monster on the field; negate that face-up monster's effects, also that face-up monster cannot attack. When it is destroyed, destroy this card.

Fiendish Chain is a great counter against monster effect reliant Decks. You can use this to negate the effects of monsters that Special Summon other monsters preventing your opponent from going into their Synchro and Xyz plays.

Super Team Buddy Force Unite!
Super Team Buddy Force Unite!
Normal Trap
Spirit of the Beast [SR]
Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [SR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or GY, with the same original Type as that monster's, but with a different original name. If this card in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Set 1 "Super Team Buddy Force Unite!" directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone.

This is a great revival card for any deck with monsters of a single type. You essentially get to revive a monster for free as long as it is not a duplicate of the one you targeted. This card has no restriction on the level of monster you revive so you can use it to put Riscorpio on the field. And putting any Gouki on the field sets you up to use Twistcobra's effect. It even replenishes itself when destroyed.

Light-Imprisoning Mirror
Light-Imprisoning Mirror
Continuous Trap
Umbra & Lumis [SR]
Negate all LIGHT monster effects activated on the field or in the Graveyard.

Light-Imprisoning Mirror is used as an anti-meta tech against prevalent LIGHT decks that heavily rely on monster effects, such as Galaxy Deck.

Xyz Extra Decks

Gouki decks do have the swarming ability, but their varying levels prevents them from becoming a truly efficient Xyz spam deck. Regardless, it is worth running Xyz in your otherwise empty Extra Deck in case you do get an opportunity to make them.

This is another broken deck that rely on broken traps. Traps must be nerfed.

Konami Reply
Dear Customer,
As long as 3 copies of a UR or SR Trap card aren't purchased by at least 80% of our player base we can't limit it as this will lower our revenue.
However, if you manage to convince enough players to buy 3 copies of a card we can find an arrangement.

Have a fun time struggling against our powerful trap cards.

Best regards.

Nothing wrong with Gouki, the problem is with all the broken traps.

Respect the KOG and hear me when I tell you, you only need two things:

1) RoTAx1 is a must. MSTx2, BoMx1. A Void Trap Hole, or a warning point, or a Breakthrough Skill. Your greatest enemy and only threat are those set spells/traps and monster effects. You don't need CompEvac at all and Expendable Dai is just too slow, it will get MST'd.

2) Thunder Ogre is a free Double Summon. Great Ogre is a free WightPrincess of sorts. Supreme Ogre is the Flame High King Ghengis of this deck.

All in all, Gouki is just D/D/D without the nerfs.

Traps you mention basically the same with CompEvac and Expend. Dai. I think you should put at least 2 osto to prevent otk'ed. 1 Forb. Lance to protect link material especially suprex if opp. somehow activate warning point or bottomless th. Play with 20-22 instead of 24 kinda brick and slow.
If Treacherous still at 2, I definitely put it. Too bad, RoTA is more important than that.

"Storm Access"?
Oh please, be honest and admit you're using "Three Effects!" to bloat your LP.

why Necrovale ????

Cope. They have link monsters that bring Goukis back to the field, and okay they're unreleased, but their own field spell is very released, and not only it's a field spell which makes it incompatible with Necrovalley, but also it specifically summons Goukis from the graveyard. Putting Necrovalley in Goukis is an abomination.

The deck feels like you are playing a stall deck, gets old really fast

But if that's your style go for it
<< Anonymous

The deck heavily relies on staple cards. Go for the staples first because you can use them in most other decks too.
<< Anonymous

Thanks lads, I have some of the staples or equivalents, its a good as time as any to work on the rest and try a backrow heavy deck for a change

Aroma is the best, not rely too much on UR/SR staple
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Aromage isn't really "big brain". It's easy to learn and easy to master. Crystrons on the other hand...
<< Anonymous

Crystron is harder to master, but Aromage is also big brain.
There are some players who constantly reach KoG using Aromages, while more others struggle with missplay and timing

So true, it's easier to become a popular artist by drawing hentai of Aromage characters than by drawing hentai of Crystron or other decks.

We all know what kind of people play Aromage decks.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
No. Playing with Aromage decks may be easy and straightforward, but drawing hentai contents on them does require a lot of thinking.
Aromage theme is about healing. It's complex to make up BDSM hentai history on that.

You do realize that most, if not all, of the meta decks out there rely on SR/UR cards, right? I've yet to see one that utilizes only rares and commons.

That is not what he means. Of course all decks rely on UR and SR cards, but he complains that this decks uses a lot of UR and SR staples instead of archetype cards. So he would say that DM is generally good (barely and UR/SR staples) while this Gouki is bad (as it relies on UR/SR staples instead of the Gouki cards)
<< Anonymous

I mean, what else it can do. Many deck that don't run many staples backrow like Dark Magician, Crystron, Blackwing and Heroes already have many support for them. Even some BEWD deck now have 4-5 trap in their deck. Ask Konami for support and it will play much less backrow then now.

Other deck option. It is not perfect, but its fun to play with it. Pretty high win ratio + Stage 1 DLv. MAX. Almost all "Gouki " decks are the same

- 3x Gouki Suprex
- 1x Gouki Riscorpio
- 3x Gouki Twistcobra
- 1x Gouki Octostretch
- 1x Gouki Headbatt
- 1x Gouki Bearhug
- 2x World Legacy Clash
- 2x Fiendish Chain
- 2x Cosmic Cyclone
- 3x Paleozoic Canadia
- 1x Floodgate Trap Hole
- Win ratio: ~ 80%

have fun guys with this deck!
