How To Use

Main Bujins

These monsters are very important because controlling one is usually the minimum requirement for the effect activation of Bujingi monsters.

Bujin Hiruko
Bujin Hiruko
LIGHT Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 1000 / DEF 2000
Chaotic Soldiers [SR]
Pendulum Effect
You can banish this card from your Pendulum Zone, then target 1 "Bujin" Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Bujin" Xyz Monster with a different name than that target, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.)

Monster Effect
A wicked god who was sealed away after his deadly showdown with Bujin Hirume over the throne of the Chief God in the distant past. In order to break the seal placed on him, he controlled Hirume, created the sinister Amaterasu, and threatened to engulf the world in darkness. But his ambitions were thwarted by the young Yamato and his allies.
Bujin Yamato
Bujin Yamato
LIGHT Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 200
Resonance of Contrast [SR]
Once per turn, during your End Phase: You can add 1 "Bujin" monster from your Deck to your hand, then send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard. You can only control 1 "Bujin Yamato".

During your End Phase, Yamato searches a Bujin monster and loads one into the graveyard. This is perfect for setting up Bujingi effects because they activate from either the hand or graveyard. The effect only occurring during the End Phase is not really a problem in this case since many of your Bujingi can activate during either player's turn.

On your first turn, if you only have Yamato on the field, it's best to search Mikazuchi as a back-up plan.

You can search Crane and discard Sinyou. With this your opponent would most likely not attack you until they can out Yamato, due to the potential ATK boost. This combo can also be used offensively, boosting Yamato's ATK when you declare battle.

Bujin Hirume
Bujin Hirume
LIGHT Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1000
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Shining Hope [R]
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 1 "Bujin" monster from your Graveyard, except "Bujin Hirume". If this card, which was Summoned this way, is destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or card effect), and sent from your side of the field to your Graveyard, and both players have a hand: You can discard 1 card, then your opponent discards 1 card. You can only control 1 "Bujin Hirume".

Bujin Hirume's inherent Special Summoning effect makes her an ideal Xyz material. Preferably pair her with a Bujingi monster whose effect activates in the graveyard, so that Bujingi monster can go to the graveyard by being detached.

Bujin Mikazuchi
Bujin Mikazuchi
LIGHT Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 1500
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Shining Hope [R]
When a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or by card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if a "Bujin" monster(s) was sent from your hand to your Graveyard this turn while you controlled this face-up card: You can add 1 "Bujin" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only control 1 "Bujin Mikazuchi".

If your Yamato is destroyed Special Summon Mikazuchi from your hand, so that you will still have access to Bujingi effects.

The only way to activate Mikazuchi's effect with this build is by discarding Crane during battle. This lets you attack over some of the more powerful monsters and/or deal significant damage to your opponent. But more importantly you then get to search Bujincarnation, a one-card Xyz enabler.

Bujingi

Bujingi Crane
Bujingi Crane
LIGHT Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1600 / DEF 300
Blackstorm Rising [SR]
During damage calculation (in either player's turn), if a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster you control battles an opponent's monster: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; the ATK of your monster becomes double its original ATK, during that damage calculation only.

Bujingi Crane is a Hand Trap that doubles the ATK of a Bujin monster. The effect is activated during damage calculation, outside the window of opportunity where most cards and effects can be activated, adding to the effect's potency. But this boost only lasts for that damage calculation.

Keep in mind that, when you add a card from the Deck to the hand via Bujin Yamato's effect, you also have to reveal it to your opponent. Which means that they will know what you decided to pick and will try and play around your Crane.

Bujingi Hare
Bujingi Hare
LIGHT Beast ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 500
Crusaders Battleground [R]
During either player's turn: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster you control; once during this turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. You can only use the effect of "Bujingi Hare" once per turn.

Hare protects a Bujin from destruction, which is the most common form of removal. This is very important because Bujins are key to your strategy. Without a Bujin monster onboard, your Bujingi cannot use their effects.

Bujingi Quilin
Bujingi Quilin
LIGHT Beast ★4
ATK 1600 / DEF 900
Crusaders Battleground [R]
If you control a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy that target. You can only use the effect of "Bujingi Quilin" once per turn.

Quilin provides simple on-demand removal. Use this to get rid of any problem cards your opponent controls. For example, this is effective at getting rid of Fiendish Chain attached to your Bujin monster.

Bujingi Sinyou
Bujingi Sinyou
LIGHT Beast ★4
ATK 1500 / DEF 1000
Crusaders Battleground [R]
During either player's Damage Step, if a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster you control battles an opponent's monster: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; that monster you control gains ATK equal to the current ATK of the opponent's monster it is battling until the end of the Damage Step, and if it does, all battle damage your opponent takes from that battle is halved. You can only use this effect of "Bujingi Sinyou" once per turn.

Sinyou's usage is similar to Crane, boost a Bujin to attack over a powerful monster. Sinyou is slightly more effective because you are guaranteed to overpower the enemy monster, but you lose out on half the damage you would've potentially dealt. You can use both Crane and Sinyou together to push more damage even with the battle damage halving.

Bujingi Fox
Bujingi Fox
LIGHT Beast ★4
ATK 200 / DEF 2100
Aerial Assault [N]
During either player's turn: You can banish this card from your Graveyard and send 1 "Bujin" monster from your hand to the Graveyard; you take no damage this turn.

Fox is one of the few Bujingi that can function without a Bujin onboard. And fittingly, his effect is best used when you're in a losing position, letting you survive another turn.

Bujingi Turtle
Bujingi Turtle
LIGHT Beast ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1200
Crusaders Battleground [N]
Shining Hope [N]
During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that targets a "Bujin" monster you control (except during the Damage Step): You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate that effect.

Bujingi Turtle can be banished from your Graveyard to negate a card or effect that targets a “Bujin” monster you control such as Enemy Controller, Paleozoic Canadia, etc. This effect also does not require you to control a Bujin to activate, so you can use it to protect Bujingi monsters you're using as beaters.

Fire Formation - Tenki

Fire Formation - Tenki
Fire Formation - Tenki
Continuous Spell
Eternal Stream [SR]
When this card is activated: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. All Beast-Warrior-Type monsters you control gain 100 ATK. You can only activate 1 "Fire Formation - Tenki" per turn.

The Beast-Warrior Bujins are the most important monsters to this Deck, so Tenki's ability to search them is a great help for setting up your board.

Bujincarnation

Bujincarnation
Bujincarnation
Normal Spell
Shining Hope [R]
If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters: Target 1 "Bujin" monster in your Graveyard and 1 of your banished "Bujin" monsters; Special Summon both targets. They cannot be used as Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon, except for the Xyz Summon of a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster.

Bujincarnation is a great comeback option because it results in an easy Xyz summon. With the amount of Bujingi effects that banish themselves, you should almost always have the correct setup to activate Bujincarnation. Simply activate it then use both monsters as Xyz material.

Neos Fusion Engine

Elemental HERO Brave Neos
Elemental HERO Brave Neos
LIGHT Warrior ★7
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Neos Fusion [UR]
"Elemental HERO Neos" + 1 Level 4 or lower Effect Monster Must be Fusion Summoned. Gains 100 ATK for each “Neo-Spacian” and “HERO” monster in your GY. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can add 1 Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand that specifically lists the card “Elemental HERO Neos” in its text.

Elemental HERO Brave Neos gains 100 ATK for each “Neo-Spacian” and “HERO” monster in your Graveyard. Because of the way you used to Summon it, he should start out with just enough ATK to overpower Dark Magician and Archfiend Zombie-Skull.

The search effect lets you fetch another copy of Neos Fusion to be used as discard cost.

Neos Fusion
Neos Fusion
Normal Spell
Neos Fusion [SR]
Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck that lists exactly 2 monsters as material, including “Elemental HERO Neos”, by sending those monsters from your hand, Deck, or field, ignoring its Summoning conditions. For the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters. If a Fusion Monster(s) you control that lists “Elemental HERO Neos” as material would be destroyed by battle or card effect, or shuffled into the Extra Deck by its own effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.

Activate Neos Fusion, send Elemental HERO Neos and a “Bujingi” Beast monster from your Deck, hand and/or field to the Graveyard to make Brave Neos.

The graveyard effect is fairly decent protection for your Brave Neos. Destruction is the most common forms of removal, so protecting against it can save you from cards like Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower.

Extra Decks

Starliege Paladynamo
Starliege Paladynamo
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1000
Selection Box Vol.04 [UR]
Darkness Gimmick [UR]
2 Level 4 LIGHT monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card to target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes 0, and if it does, its effects are negated. When this card you control is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Draw 1 card.
Bujinki Amaterasu
Bujinki Amaterasu
LIGHT Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 2600 / DEF 2500
Chaotic Soldiers [SR]
Selection Box Vol.04 [SR]
3 Level 4 monsters
You can only control 1 "Bujinki Amaterasu". Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; apply this effect, depending on whose turn it is.
● Your turn: Target 1 of your banished Level 4 or lower monsters; Special Summon that target.
● Your opponent's turn: Target 1 of your banished Level 4 or lower monsters; add that target to your hand.
Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

The effect cost on top of Dire Wolf's summoning cost can be quite costly, but you can take advantage of this as a way of loading Bujingi into the graveyard.

Bujintei Tsukuyomi
Bujintei Tsukuyomi
LIGHT Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 2300
Shining Hope [SR]
2 Level 4 LIGHT monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; send your entire hand to the Graveyard (min. 1), and if you do, draw 2 cards. When this card you controlled while face-up leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect: You can target Level 4 Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monsters in your Graveyard, up to the number of Xyz Materials this card had on the field; Special Summon those targets. You can only control 1 "Bujintei Tsukuyomi".

Good for loading Bujingi into the graveyard and cycling through your deck. Tsukuyomi is a good Xyz to make as a follow up to Bujincarnation to regain resources for a comeback. The floating effect will almost never be used because your opponent won't knowingly remove Tsukuyomi with an effect and you will want to use up its Xyz materials to cycle your deck.

Bujintei Susanowo
Bujintei Susanowo
LIGHT Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 1600
Shining Hope [R]
2 Level 4 "Bujin" monsters
This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; take 1 "Bujin" monster from your Deck, and either add it to your hand or send it to the Graveyard. You can only control 1 "Bujintei Susanowo".

The ability to attack all enemy monsters is great for dealing a ton of damage. It's second effect is similar to Yamato except it occurs during the Main Phase. This is relevant because you can search Crane or Sinyou just in time before you start the Battle Phase.

Other useful cards

Bunjingi Centipede

Bujingi Centipede
Bujingi Centipede
LIGHT Beast ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 500
Resonance of Contrast [R}
Shining Hope [R]
If you control a Beast-Warrior-Type "Bujin" monster: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy that target. You can only use the effect of "Bujingi Centipede" once per turn.

If you control a face-up Beast-Warrior “Bujin” monster, you can banish Bujingi Centipede from your Graveyard to destroy a Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls. Keep in mind that Centipede has an Ignition Effect, meaning you will only be able to activate it during your Main Phase.

Other Extra Decks

Number 70: Malevolent Sin
Number 70: Malevolent Sin
DARK Insect ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 1200
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3.

Malevolent Sin is an anti-Xyz tech. Summon Malevolent Sin and use its effect to temporarily banish an enemy Xyz monster. The Xyz monster will return with no materials attached to it.

Gagaga Samurai
Gagaga Samurai
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 1600
Shining Hope [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 "Gagaga" monster you control; it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase this turn. When another monster you control is targeted for an attack while this card is in Attack Position: You can change this card to Defense Position, and if you do, change the attack target to this card and perform damage calculation.

Samurai is used to push damage after you mostly cleared the field. It's relatively low ATK stat means it won't be destroying anything by battle. But its double attack effect allow it to inflict massive damage when attacking directly.

It's attack redirection can be used to protect your Bujin monster which is more important to this deck's strategy.

Gagaga Cowboy
Gagaga Cowboy
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 1500 / DEF 2400
Gagaga XYZ
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; apply this effect, depending on this card's current battle position.
● Attack Position: If this card attacks an opponent's monster this turn, it gains 1000 ATK, also the opponent's monster loses 500 ATK, during the Damage Step only.
● Defense Position: Inflict 800 damage to your opponent.
Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King
Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King
FIRE Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 1800
Eternal Stream [UR]
2 Level 4 Beast-Warrior-Type monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can Set 1 "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Card directly from your Deck. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effects of all face-up Effect Monsters currently on the field, except Beast-Warrior-Type, until the end of your opponent's turn. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can send 3 "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Cards you control to the Graveyard; Special Summon 2 Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior-Type monsters with the same ATK from your Deck, in face-up Defense Position.

Upon summoning Tiger King, you get to fetch Tenki which results in fetching another Beast-Warrior monster, great for resource gain. The mass effect negation is very powerful because it can shut off powerful effects, like Cyber Slash Harpie Lady. Lastly, Tiger King floats into two Level-4 monsters letting you set up your next Xyz play. However, you do need to clog your entire backrow for this to work.

Number 39: Utopia
Number 39: Utopia
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Shining Hope [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack. When this card is targeted for an attack, while it has no Xyz Materials: Destroy this card.

Utopia is the strongest Rank-4 beater that requires only 2 materials. It also comes with a battle protection effect which can be helpful when on the defensive.

Is getting three Yamato worth the effort? Or should I keep my gems for other decks?

3 Yamato.

Besides, it is an old mini box (only 80 packs), you may not need to spend too many gems to get 3 of it.

You really can't even play the deck that well with 3 Yamato, but I love the deck in general. Super fun.

Yamato is the only card (aside from Neos Fusion) that "needs" to be a 3-of here. You can get away with less Crane or Mikazuchi, but you really need 3 Yamato.

3 Yamato? Wow!
How about no Yamato at all?

I strongly recommend to take 1 Bujingi Ibis. Doing great when fighting satellarknight and magician girls. 4800 piercing damage with the help of crane is really satisfying.

I'd mill the bujin card that removes traps with neos fusion. Looks decent

3 warwolf and light and dark its bacically tage team between yamato neos and a triple threat with the trap negating warwolf

War wolf? The crappy Ghostrick card?

Looks actually pretty cool, Crane is really a useful card against the current meta

It think the normal Bujins with 3 ties of b. Is probably better. And you won’t mind going first.

Anonymous Reply
Probably, but with TOTB you are forced to play the 3rd beast warrior in your deck.

And also, the 2nd and 3rd copies of TOTB would be a dead card. Can only be use as bluff or discard fodder for Yamato.

Still. It's personal preferences.
Anonymous
just try Blue Eyes Neos, instead of Bujin Neos... just need two copy of Dragon Spirit of White and Three copy of White Stone of Ancient... remember you also need miracle fusion...
