Pros

  • Can be special summoned from hand.
  • Banishes cards sent to the graveyard.
  • Has a search effect when sent to the graveyard.

Cons

  • Weak stats.
  • Banishing effect can only be used when special summoned with his own effect.
  • Will also banish your own cards.

Tips

Banish

Banish multiple of your cards to give Golden Homonculus a large stat boost. With Retaliating "C" on the field any monster sent to the graveyard will be banished. Use this to your advantage by using monsters like Giant Rex, D.D. Scout Plane and D.D. Survivor that can recover themselves when they are banished.

Revival

Monsters banished by the effect of Retaliating "C" can be revived with cards like D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation, Escape from the Dark Dimension, and Release from Stone.

Pot of Acquisitiveness

You can use Pot of Acquisitiveness to retrieve banished cards also drawing a card.

Other Insect Searchers

Here are other monsters with effects that search Insect-type monsters that can be used Alongside Retaliating "C" to thin your deck and load your graveyard.

Relying on your opponent to do a thing is gross

Quite a number of meta cards in OCG/TCG actually relies on opponent doing a thing lol.

Loli handtraps, Kaiju, Maxx "C", PSY-Frames.....heck even Cyber Dragon, the card everyone wants to have in DL, relies on the opponent having already summoned a monster if you want to SS Cyber Dragon.

Don't forget Trickstar.

Although granted, Trickstar has a Trao card that forces the opponent to make a certain action. However, on their own, the monsters completely relies on the opponent making an action in order for their effect to activate.

So basically right now it can only respond to Mask Change and the occasional Poly?

Since Rank-Up-Magic cards are still far away, and nobody plays Ritual anymore....

You forgot Ancient Rules, Destruction Swordsman Fusion, Silver's Cry and Ties of the Brethren.

It's still pretty bad though
