How to Play

Cheese out Fusions

The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion
The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion
DARK Rock ★3
ATK 1000 / DEF 1600
Dawn of Destiny [SR]
You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion Material Monster, but the other Fusion Material Monster(s) must be correct. You can Tribute Fusion Material Monsters on the field, including this face-up card; Special Summon 1 corresponding DARK Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck.

Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion's effect allows you to make Dark Cavalry without a Fusion Spell as long as you have the necessary materials onboard. Specifically, you will need Dark - Hex Sealed with another Warrior monster on your field, which is why every version of this deck runs a ton of warriors.

Similarly, you can use this method to make Millenium-Eyes Restrict. The condition for this is easier because any effect monster would do.

Goblindbergh
Goblindbergh
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 0
Shining Hope [UR]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand, also, after that, change this card to Defense Position.

Normal Summon Goblindbergh then Special Summon Dark - Hex-Sealed. Use both monsters to Special Summon a Fusion monster.

Dark Cavalry
Dark Cavalry
DARK Spellcaster ★8
ATK 2800 / DEF 2300
Master of Chaos [UR]
"Dark Magician" + 1 Warrior monster
Gains 100 ATK for each Spell/Trap on the field and in the GYs. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. When a card or effect is activated that targets a card on the field (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

Dark Cavalry is a relatively powerful monster for the amount of effect you spent making him. The inherent ATK boost is nice, letting him easily start with 3000+ ATK. This high ATK is complemented by his ability to deal piercing damage, making him a great damage dealer.

The negation effect is not "once per turn" and can be used on any type of card as long as it targets. Useful for stopping targeted removal, disrupting enemy plays when they target their own cards.

Millennium-Eyes Restrict
Millennium-Eyes Restrict
DARK Spellcaster ★1
ATK 0 / DEF 0
Dimension of the Wizards [SR]
"Relinquished" + 1 Effect Monster
Once per turn, when your opponent activates a monster effect (Quick Effect): You can target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls or in their GY; equip that target to this card you control. This card gains ATK/DEF equal to that equipped monster's. Monsters with that equipped monster's name cannot attack, also their effects on the field and their activated effects are negated.

Millenium-Eyes Restrict made to deter the opponent from using any of their monster effects. This is especially effective against Desperado Barrel Dragon and Ritual Beasts.

But only make it if you already have a strong monster onboard. Otherwise there's nothing stopping your opponent from simply running over Millenium-Eyes Restrict.

Keeper Of Dragon Magic

Keeper of Dragon Magic
Keeper of Dragon Magic
DARK Dragon ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 1300
Master of Chaos [SR]
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can discard 1 card; add 1 "Polymerization" Normal Spell Card or "Fusion" Normal Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. You can reveal 1 Fusion Monster in your Extra Deck; Special Summon 1 of the Fusion Materials whose name is specifically listed on that monster from your GY, in face-down Defense Position. You can only use each effect of "Keeper of Dragon Magic" once per turn. You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate either of this card's effects.

Fetch a Fusion Spell upon summoning Keeper of Dragon Magic. Early game, prioritize Neos Fusion to easily get a beater on your field.

Magicalized Fusion
Magicalized Fusion
Normal Spell
Dark Dimension [R]
Fusion Summon 1 Spellcaster Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your field or GY. You can only activate 1 "Magicalized Fusion" per turn.

Magicalized Fusion is another way of getting Dark Cavalry on the field. You can even use Magicalized Fusion after Special Summoning with Dark Hex-Sealed to get 2 Dark Cavalry onboard, or Dark Cavalry with Millenium-Eyes Restrict.

Neos Fusion Engine

Neos Fusion
Neos Fusion
Normal Spell
Neos Fusion [SR]
Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck that lists exactly 2 monsters as material, including “Elemental HERO Neos”, by sending those monsters from your hand, Deck, or field, ignoring its Summoning conditions. For the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters. If a Fusion Monster(s) you control that lists “Elemental HERO Neos” as material would be destroyed by battle or card effect, or shuffled into the Extra Deck by its own effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.

Essentially puts Brave Neos on the field for free if all your materials came from the Deck. The best part is milling the fusion material, which is a somewhat versatile graveyard setup.

Elemental HERO Brave Neos
Elemental HERO Brave Neos
LIGHT Warrior ★7
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Neos Fusion [UR]
"Elemental HERO Neos" + 1 Level 4 or lower Effect Monster
Must be Fusion Summoned. Gains 100 ATK for each “Neo-Spacian” and “HERO” monster in your GY. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can add 1 Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand that specifically lists the card “Elemental HERO Neos” in its text.

Simply an easy to summon beater. The first effect is only marginally helpful, letting Brave Neos start with 2600 because Neos will be in the graveyard.

Bacon Saver
Bacon Saver
DARK Zombie ★2
ATK 700 / DEF 600
Generation Next [R]
During either player's Battle Step, while an attack is occurring: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate the attack. You can only use the effect of "Bacon Saver" once per Duel.

Tech in Bacon Saver so you have something to mill with Neos Fusion. Bacon Saver itself is a fairly good card, capable of stopping an attack for you.

Battlin' Boxer Veil

Battlin Boxer Veil
Battlin Boxer Veil
FIRE Warrior ★4
ATK 0 / DEF 1800
Rage of Volcano [R]
When you take battle damage: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, gain Life Points equal to the damage you took.

A good stall card because it can heal back lost LP and catch a subsequent attack. If your Special Summoned Battlin Boxer survives till your turn, you can use it alongside Dark - Hex-Sealed to make Dark Cavalry.

Lightsworn Engine

Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn
Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1000
Judgement Force [SR]
During your Main Phase: You can send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard, then if any "Lightsworn" monsters were sent to the Graveyard by this effect, this card gains 200 ATK until the end of your opponent's turn. You can only use this effect of "Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn" once per turn. Once per turn, during your End Phase: Send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

Unlike other Lightsworn monsters, Raiden lets you mill during the Main Phase so you can immediately use your setup. Additionally, Raiden is a Tuner so you get access to some Synchro plays.

Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner
Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner
LIGHT Spellcaster ★3
ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
Judgement Force [R]
Once per turn: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Level 4 or lower "Lightsworn" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. During each of your End Phases: Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

Lumina revives Raiden to immediately make a level-7 Synchro.

Charge of the Light Brigade
Charge of the Light Brigade
Normal Spell
Judgement Force [SR]
Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard; add 1 Level 4 or lower "Lightsworn" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Instant graveyard setup and searches a Lightsworn monster. Early game it's best to search Raiden for further setup. If you have Raiden in the graveyard, you can opt to search Lumina and summon her to make a level-7 Synchro.

Solar Recharge
Solar Recharge
Normal Spell
Judgement Force [R]
Discard 1 "Lightsworn" monster; draw 2 cards, then send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

Another good Spell for graveyard setup. If you have both Lumina and Raiden onhand, discard Raiden as cost to setup a Synchro play.

Chaos Dragon Levianeer

Chaos Dragon Levianeer
Chaos Dragon Levianeer
DARK Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 0
Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [UR]
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 3 LIGHT and/or DARK monsters from your GY. When Summoned this way: You can activate this effect; apply the following effect, based on the Attribute(s) of the monsters banished for the Special Summon, also this card cannot attack for the rest of this turn.
● Only LIGHT: Special Summon 1 monster from your GY in Defense Position.
● Only DARK: Shuffle 1 random card from your opponent's hand into the Deck.
● Both LIGHT and DARK: Destroy up to 2 cards on the field.
You can only use this effect of "Chaos Dragon Levianeer" once per turn.

The deck mainly consists of LIGHT and DARK monsters so Levianeer is a good alternative boss monster. The graveyard setup provided by Lightsworns means Levianeer will usually be usable upon drawing him. Always summon Levianeer with both LIGHT and DARK monsters as cost so you get to activate its best effect.

The Melody of Awakening Dragon
The Melody of Awakening Dragon
Normal Spell
Seto Kaiba [SR]
Discard 1 card; add up to 2 Dragon-Type monsters with 3000 or more ATK and 2500 or less DEF from your Deck to your hand.

Melody is basically used to search Levianeer or 2 Levianeer if possible.

Invoked Engine

Invocation
Invocation
Normal Spell
Dark Dimension [UR]
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand as Fusion Material. If Summoning an "Invoked" Fusion Monster this way, you can also banish monsters from your field and/or either player's GY as Fusion Material. If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 of your banished "Aleister the Invoker"; shuffle this card into the Deck, and if you do, add that card to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Invocation" once per turn.

The Invoked Engine gives you an easy and reusable way of summoning an amazing damage dealer, namely Purgatrio.

  1. Start the engine by Normal Summoning Aleister and fetching Invocation.
  2. Activate Invocation using Aleister on your field and Battlin Boxer Veil in your graveyard as materials to make Purgatrio.
  3. Activate Invocation's graveyard effect to recover Aleister and put Invocation back in your deck.
Aleister the Invoker
Aleister the Invoker
DARK Spellcaster ★4
ATK 1000 / DEF 1800
Dark Dimension [UR]
(Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY, then target 1 Fusion Monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK/DEF until the end of this turn. If this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: You can add 1 "Invocation" from your Deck to your hand.

Aliester has a quick effect that lets you boost the ATK of a Fusion monster by a significant amount. Extremely useful when Purgatrio is going in for the kill.

Invoked Purgatrio
Invoked Purgatrio
FIRE Fiend ★8
ATK 2300 / DEF 2000
Aerial Assault [UR]
"Aleister the Invoker" + 1 FIRE monster
This card gains 200 ATK for each card your opponent controls. This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.

Inherent ATK boost, multi-attack, and piercing effects combined in one monster makes for a very potent damage dealer. Attack aggressively after summoning Purgatrio.

Synchro Extra Deck

Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn
Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn
LIGHT Dragon ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 2000
Judgement Force [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monsters
Once per turn: You can pay 1000 LP, then target 1 card on the field; banish that target. When this card is destroyed: You can target any number of other "Lightsworn" monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle them into the Deck, and if you do, you gain 300 LP for each returned card. Once per turn, during your End Phase: Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

Michael offers single target banishing removal that doesn't require any card resource cost. The floating effect lets you return Lightsworns to your deck, preventing deck out without ruining your graveyard setup.

Black Rose Dragon
Black Rose Dragon
FIRE Dragon ★7
ATK 2400 / DEF 1800
Blazing Rose [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; change that target to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn.

Summon Black Rose Dragon to get rid of your opponent's entire board setup. Lumina reviving Raiden is a quick way to make level-7 Synchros, ideal for how you will use Black Rose Dragon.

Fortune Lady Every
Fortune Lady Every
LIGHT Spellcaster ★7
ATK ? / DEF ?
Valhalla Calling [SR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner Spellcaster monsters
This card's ATK/DEF become its Level x 400. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: Increase this card's Level by 1 (max. 12), then, you can banish 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. During your opponent's End Phase, if this card is in your GY: You can banish 1 other Spellcaster monster from your GY; Special Summon this card. You can only use this effect of "Fortune Lady Every" once per turn.

Lumina being a Spellcaster gives you access to Fortune Lady Every. She's quite the powerful boss monster if you can keep her on the field, reaching up to 4800 ATK and giving you a free removal effect every turn. Fortune Lady Every also has an inherent self revival effect using Lumina in your graveyard as cost.

Xyz Extra Deck

Lumina being a Spellcaster gives you access to Fortune Lady Every. She's quite the powerful boss monster if you can keep her on the field, reaching up to 4800 ATK and giving you a free removal effect every turn. Fortune Lady Every also has an inherent self revival effect using Lumina in your graveyard as cost.

Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

Diamond Dire Wolf gets rid of itself along with any enemy card. Use this as on-demand removal against a problematic card, or secure your attacks by getting rid of enemy backrow.

Gagaga Samurai
Gagaga Samurai
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 1600
Shining Hope [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 "Gagaga" monster you control; it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase this turn. When another monster you control is targeted for an attack while this card is in Attack Position: You can change this card to Defense Position, and if you do, change the attack target to this card and perform damage calculation.

Samurai is used to push damage after you mostly cleared the field. His double attack effect allow him to inflict massive damage by attacking directly.

Other useful cards

Star Eater
Star Eater
LIGHT Dragon ★11
ATK 3200 / DEF 2800
Valhalla Calling [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card's Synchro Summon cannot be negated. When Synchro Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. If this card attacks, it is unaffected by other card effects until the end of the Damage Step.

Invoker is the broken one here. Without invoker it is a fair card.

There's a freaking 7 slot for the ED, you run dark hex and yet not one single RESD. Come on.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Dark Cavalry is a better monster than RESD, but if you don't have 3 copies of Dark Cavalry yet have 3 copies of RESD then yeah, you can run something like 1 Dark Cavalry and 2 RESD.

Most of the time you'll never need to summon Dark Cavalry more than once anyway.

DC is bigger, has piercing, negate from hand rather than needing equips. However slash has revival and some synergy with other red eyes support cards.
