Exodia FTK deck (Before 2019 Mar)

Duel Links Deck, Exodia, Grandpa's Cards
update 05/03/2019

Overview

Your main goal with this deck is to win the duel as soon as possible by gathering all pieces of Exodia in your hand. Simple yet, quite difficult to pull off without some luck, or amazing search and draw power which this deck is all about.

Win Condition

Exodia is one of, if not the most, popular alternate win condition in YuGiOh. By assembling all 5 pieces of Exodia in your hand you automatically win the duel. This is easier said than done, but because of this powerful effect there are some decks builds that are entirely made to complete Exodia.

How to Use (Treasure Panda Version)

Dark World Draw

Dark Worlds are an excellent draw engine to thin your deck, with their key card Dark World Dealings. Use Dark World Dealings to discard Snoww, Unlight of Dark World or Broww Huntsman of Dark World and draw a card. When Broww is discarded he allows you to draw another card. If Snoww is discarded she searches your deck for another Dark World card. Search out Another copy of Dark World Dealings, but if you already have Dark World Dealings in your hand you can search out another Dark World monster.

Exodia Parts Draw Engine

What makes this deck different from other Exodia Builds is that you are able to use the Exodia parts as a draw engine. Special summon the limbs of
Exodia with Treasure Panda's effect and then send them to the graveyard with Wonder Wand or White Elephant's Gift to draw 2 more cards. The Head of Exodia is different because it is an effect monster therefore does not work with Treasure Panda and White Elephant's Gift but you can normal summon it and use it with Wonder Wand.

Consistency Boost

If in case you bricked and could not use any of your draw engines Magical Mallet could help you restart your hand by returning some or all cards back to the deck, but is a minus 1 itself. Legion the Fiend Jester can be used with Wonder Wand to draw 2 cards plus search out an Exodia Limb, if needed he can also be set to act like a small wall just so you don't get OTKed that turn.

Backup Soldier

Backup Soldiers is your key to winning, because it will be the last card you activate to assemble all your Exodia pieces. Since you used some Exodia pieces as draw engines, some will be in your graveyard. When all Exodia pieces are in either your hand or your graveyard, set Backup Soldiers and turn on self chain. Activate Backup Soldiers during your opponent's draw phase when he has little to respond with. If successful you will immediately win with Exodia.

How to Use (Silent Magician Version)

Gold Sarcophagus

Gold Sarcophagus searches any card in your deck but the 2 turn wait is too slow. So it is best not to banish your Exodia pieces if you want to end the duel quickly. Instead you should banish Wonder Wands/Blue Dragon Summoners to thin your deck, as they can be hard to use especially if you've already used up your normal summon.

Silent Magician

Silent Magician provides your deck with an alternate win condition and access to a more powerful draw engine. The Non-LV Silent Magician can easily become a powerful beater because of this deck's draw power and when she is destroyed you can special summon Silent Magician LV8 from your deck. If you want to take a risk just for some extra draws, you can equip Silent Magician with Wonder Wand and send them to the graveyard to draw 2 cards.

Silent Burning

Silent Burning is an extremely powerful draw card that you can only use when you have Silent Magician on the field. To maximize efficiency, this should always be the last draw card you activate after you have exhausted your entire hand, also place as many cards as you can on the field so that you can draw more. You can then banish this card in your graveyard to search out a Silent Magician monster, further thinning your deck.

Draw and Search

To gather all pieces of Exodia in your hand quickly from a 25 card deck (20 cards to register as a usable deck + 5 Exodia pieces added with the skill.) you will need plenty of draw and search power. Combo Wonder Wand with Blue Dragon Summoner is excellent for both these reasons. Equip Wonder Wand to Blue Dragon Summoner then send them to the graveyard with Wonder Wand's effect to draw 2 cards, this will also trigger the effect of Blue Dragon Summoner allowing you to search an Exodia Arm or Leg piece.(Keep in Mind that you cannot search out the Head piece of Exodia as it is an effect monster.)
Dark World Dealings Helps you dig deeper into your deck but be careful as it is essentially a minus 1 so be sure to save a Silent Burning to replenish your hand.

How to Use (Red-Eyes Version)

Summon Red-Eyes

Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon in this deck are primarily used to stall, and also thin your deck when used with Cards of the Red Stone. Most times, you should not want to attack if you only have one Red-Eyes on the field and your opponent has a set spell/trap card. Only attack when you know it's safe, or when you are left with no other choice.

currently running a set with magical merchants, kuribohs, blue dragons and legions. Only magic traps are monster reincarnation, diff dimension capsule and backup soldier. 7/10 win rate with only losses against sam sixes or ninjas

I use Vampire Dragon to search out Exodia’s head. The rest of the pieces are laughably easy to get, so I then stall with cards while I let my opponent destroy other searchers. So long as I don’t lose the Head, I have a VERY good chance of winning.

Thanks. I actually found out later that night leveling him up. Haha

Sometimes it does quite well but more often you lose before you have drawn all 5 pieces.

Throwing red-eyes in front of you offensively/defensively, but ultimatelu to stall, only works for so long.
Excluding rare cases where you win before exodia.

Nice idea exodia.
However the meta is throwing many strong stuff on the field and fast.
Too much to stall long enough for usually.

And than you run out of stalling gas and reveive the killing blow.
Deep Draw
Unfortunaly stall decks are way to slow. Even with alot of searchers. You'll end topdecking with 4pieces in hand. Such a shame.

Topdecking is when you get the card you need at absolutely the right time, otherwise known as "heart of the cards."
Decking is why you run out of cards.

Ermm, Nope. Topdecking, as the name implies, is drawing from the top of the deck. It is a very common term used to describe a point of the game in which you've already lost your fuel, and you're left at a "topdecking" position, in which all you can do is draw a card, and play it, whilst having no cards in hand nor synergistic moves that could allow you to further your game along on a reliable way.

Whilst on "topdeck mode" you can either get the card you needed or not, however, the so called "Heart of the cards" is just the animes' BS and has no relation whatsoever to what topdecking implies.
Guido
You can also stall the opponent using Labyrinth wall. Also you can use white elephant gift in this deck.
