Light and Dark This Skill can be used when your Life Points decrease by 1000. Choose 1 of the following: • Return 1 DARK monster from your hand to your Deck. Then, add from your Deck to your hand, 1 LIGHT monster with the same Level and Type as the monster you returned. • Return 1 LIGHT monster from your hand to your Deck. Then, add from your Deck to your hand, 1 DARK monster with the same Level and Type as the monster you returned. This Skill can only be used once per turn, and twice per Duel. | ![]() Umbra & Lumis |
![]() Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman | LIGHT Dragon ★1 ATK 400 / DEF 300 |
Power of Bravery [UR] | |
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Destruction Sword" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman". You can only use 1 of the following effects of "Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman" per turn, and only once that turn.● You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Buster Blader" from your hand or Graveyard.● If this card is in your Graveyard and you control "Buster Blader": You can discard 1 "Destruction Sword" card; Special Summon this card. |
Buster Whelp is a Level 1 Tuner that, when Normal Summoned, allows you to add a “Destruction Sword” card from your Deck to the hand. Normal Summon Buster Whelp and add Destruction Swordsman Fusion to your hand.
You can Tribute Buster Whelp to Special Summon a Buster Blader from your hand or Graveyard; this effect can Special Summon Buster Blader, the Destruction Master from the Graveyard, since its name is “Buster Blader” while he’s on the field or Graveyard, but not from the hand. If you control a Buster Blader, you can Special Summon Buster Whelp from the Graveyard by discarding a “Destruction Sword” card, giving you access to a Level 8 Synchro.
Keep in mind that you can only use one of these last two effects per turn and only once during that turn, which means that you can’t Special Summon a Buster Blader or Buster Blader, the Destruction Master by Tributing Buster Whelp and then Special Summon the Level 1 Tuner from the Graveyard via its own effect.

Generation Next [SR] | |
This card's name becomes "Buster Blader" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard. If a monster(s) your opponent controls is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of those destroyed monsters; equip it to this card. Once per turn: You can send 1 Monster Card you control that is equipped to this card to the Graveyard; destroy all monsters your opponent controls with the same Type as that monster sent to the Graveyard. |
Can be a bit hard to get on the field. Your best bet might be to get him in the graveyard and revive with Buster Whelp. or revived by Red-Eyes Slash Dragon. But if you do manage to get him onboard, he has the potential to constantly field wipe the opponent if they run a single Type Deck.
![]() Buster Blader | EARTH Warrior ★7 ATK 2600 / DEF 2300 |
Crimson Kingdom [R] | |
This card gains 500 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster your opponent controls or is in their Graveyard. |
Generally we prefer running the original Buster Blader over his retrained version due to the simple fact his name is already Buster Blader while in the hand. This means you can use him in your hand as fusion material with Destruction Swordsman Fusion. He is also searchable with his own exclusive search card.
![]() Emblem of Dragon Destroyer | Normal Spell |
Crimson Kingdom [R] | |
Add 1 "Buster Blader" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. |
Simple search card to fetch Buster Blader.
![]() Black Metal Dragon | DARK Dragon ★1 ATK 600 / DEF 600 |
Blazing Rose [UR] | |
You can target 1 "Red-Eyes" monster you control, except "Red-Eyes B. Chick"; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. It gains 600 ATK. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Red-Eyes" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Red-Eyes B. Chick". |
Black Metal Dragon searches Red-Eyes Fusion. If you have Red-Eyes Slash Dragon or Red-Eyes Black Dragon on the field, you can equip it with Black Metal Dragon for an easy ATK boost.
![]() The Black Stone of Legend | DARK Dragon ★1 ATK 0 / DEF 0 |
Blazing Rose [SR] | |
You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster from your Deck, except "Red-Eyes B. Chick". If this card is in your Graveyard: You can target 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster in your Graveyard, except "Red-Eyes B. Chick"; shuffle it into the Deck, and if you do, add this card to your hand. You can only use 1 "The Black Stone of Legend" effect per turn, and only once that turn. |
Normal Summon Black Stone of Legend and immediately tribute it to put Red-Eyes Black Dragon on the field. The inherent recycling effect is very self-sufficient because you get to return Black Stone of Legend to your hand, plus return Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the Deck which you can later Special Summon with the Black Stone of Legend you retrieved.

A ferocious dragon with a deadly attack. |
A simple monster but key to the Red-Eyes engine. Special Summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon with Black Stone of Legend for an easy beater. Also use Red-Eyes Black Dragon as material for Red-Eyes Fusion.
![]() Red-Eyes Fusion | Normal Spell |
Structure Deck: Return of the Red-Eyes [SR]
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that lists a "Red-Eyes" monster as Material from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand, Deck, or your side of the field as Fusion Materials, and if you do, its name becomes "Red-Eyes B. Dragon". You cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters the turn you activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Red-Eyes Fusion" per turn. |
Cost-efficient Fusion Spell because it can use materials from the Deck. Use this to make Red-Eyes Slash Dragon with Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordsman as one of the materials. Keep in mind if you already Normal Summoned or Special Summoned this turn, you cannot activate Red-Eyes Fusion.
![]() Red-Eyes Slash Dragon | DARK Dragon ★7 ATK 2800 / DEF 2400 |
Resonance of Contrast [UR]
"Red-Eyes B. Dragon" + 1 Warrior monster When a "Red-Eyes" monster declares an attack: You can target 1 Warrior monster in your GY; equip it to this card as an Equip Spell with this effect.● The equipped monster gains 200 ATK. When a card or effect is activated that targets a card you control (Quick Effect): You can send 1 Equip Card you control to the GY; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon as many monsters from your GY as possible, that were equipped to this card. |
A great alternative boss monster. Red-Eyes Slash Dragon offers a powerful stats and an inherent ATK boost. It also has targeting negation as a way to protect any card you control. Gathering equips isn't really too difficult so these effects are practically activated for free.
The floating effect makes sure you can keep up field presence even after Red-Eyes Slash Dragon is removed. Especially if you have something like Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordsman attached.
![]() Sphere Kuriboh | DARK Fiend ★1 ATK 300 / DEF 200 |
The Ultimate Rising [UR] Selection Box Vol. 01 [UR]
When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; change the attacking monster to Defense Position. When you Ritual Summon a monster, you can banish this card from your Graveyard as 1 of the monsters required for the Ritual Summon. |
![]() Destruction Swordsman Fusion | Quick Spell |
Power of Bravery [SR] | |
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that lists "Buster Blader" as Material from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or either side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard; add this card to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Destruction Swordsman Fusion" once per turn. |
Destruction Swordsman Fusion is essentially a Quick-Play version of Polymerization that can only be used to Special Summon Fusion Monsters that specifically list “Buster Blader” as Fusion Material (Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, and Dark Paladin). But, unlike Polymerization, it allows you to use as Fusion Materials monsters from your hand and/or either side of the field.
As I mentioned, Destruction Swordsman Fusion can be searched via Buster Whelp, which you can add to your hand via the Skill Light and Dark by returning Black Metal Dragon to your Deck. And if you have DNA Surgery face-up, you can use it to Special Summon Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman while also getting rid of an enemy monster.
Removing an enemy monster by using it as fusion material does not destroy. Meaning your opponent can't respond with common protection effects. Also, if ever this card is negated you can simply discard a card, retrieve Destruction Swordsman Fusion and try again.
![]() Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman | LIGHT Warrior ★8 ATK 2800 / DEF |
Generation Next [UR] | |
1 "Buster Blader" + 1 Dragon-Type monster Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card cannot attack directly. This card gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each Dragon-Type monster your opponent controls or is in their Graveyard. Change all Dragon-Type monsters your opponent controls to Defense Position, also Dragon-Type monsters in your opponent's possession cannot activate their effects. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. |
Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each Dragon-Type monster the opponent controls or is in their Graveyard. He can’t attack directly but does piercing damage, which is how he is able to deal massive damage.
More importantly, he locks all Dragon monsters to defense position and prevents them from activating effects. This is relevant with DNA Surgery turning all enemy monsters into Dragons.
![]() DNA Surgery | Continuous Trap |
Card Trader [SR] | |
Activate this card by declaring 1 Monster Type. All face-up monsters on the field become that Type. |
Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman and DNA Surgery is a powerful combo, strong enough to shutdown a good portion of current top-tier decks.
DNA Surgery turning all monsters into Dragons means they are now affected by Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroying Swordsman's debilitating effect. This is especially potent against decks that heavily rely on monster effects.
![]() Dark Paladin | DARK Spellcaster ★8 ATK 2900 / DEF 2400 |
Crimson Kingdom [UR] | |
"Dark Magician" + "Buster Blader" Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. During either player's turn, when a Spell Card is activated: You can discard 1 card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect. This card gains 500 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster on the field or in either player's Graveyard. |
A good monster to summon incase you get matched with a Dark Magician Deck. Not only do you get to take the opponent's Dark Magician as fusion material, Dark Paladin is also a great counter to the deck preventing them from using key Spells.
![]() Vermillion Dragon Mech | FIRE Machine ★9 ATK 2700 / DEF 1800 |
Blazing Rose [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can banish 1 Tuner from your hand, field, or Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished Tuners; add it to your hand. |
A level 9 backrow/monster removal synchro monster by banishing tuner monster from your hand or graveyard.
![]() Scrap Dragon | EARTH Dragon ★8 ATK 2800 / DEF 2000 |
Valhalla Calling [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can target 1 card you control and 1 card your opponent controls; destroy them. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 non-Synchro "Scrap" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. |
Scrap Dragon is a good beater with a 1-for-1 targeting removal effect.
![]() Stardust Spark Dragon | LIGHT Dragon ★8 ATK 2500 / DEF 2000 |
Future Horizon [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 face-up card you control; once during this turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. |
Gives a one-time protection to any card you control. Particularly, you want to protect DNA surgery or Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroying Swordsman because this powerful combo has no inherent protection. Keep in mind this effect can be used during both players' turns.

You can target 1 "Buster Blader" you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. While this card is equipped to a monster, monsters in your opponent's Graveyard cannot activate their effects. You can send this Equip Card to the Graveyard, then target 1 "Destruction Sword" monster in your Graveyard, except "Wizard Buster Destruction Sword"; add it to your hand. |
Preventing your opponent from using graveyard effects is a great way to disrupt graveyard setups and floating effects. The second effect lets you retrieve Buster Whelp for more searching.
![]() Stardust Dragon | WIND Dragon ★8 ATK 2500 / DEF 2000 |
Selection Box Vol. 03 [UR] Stardust Acceleration [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that would destroy a card(s) on the field: You can Tribute this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. During the End Phase, if this effect was activated this turn (and was not negated): You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. |
Stardust Dragon can negate enemy effects that would destroy a card, targeting or not. This makes it an effective counter against the most common form of removal. This effect is practically activated for free, only temporarily tributing Stardust Dragon.
![]() Karma of the Destruction Swordsman | Quick Spell |
Crimson Kingdom [N] | |
Target up to 3 monsters of the same Type in your opponent's Graveyard; banish them, and if you do, 1 "Buster Blader" monster or 1 "Destruction Sword" monster you control gains 500 ATK and DEF for each of those banished monsters, until the end of this turn. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can discard 1 "Destruction Sword" card; add this card to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Karma of the Destruction Swordsman" once per turn. |
Most archetypes run a single Type of monster so Karma of the Destruction Swordsman can readily be used for graveyard disruption. Even if you're not facing this type of deck, you can still use this card as cost for Buster Whelp's revival.
Noted by Nitu:
"The best use of my deck is when I encountered a player who uses a deck with Dragons. My Buster Blader monsters get their attack boosted when the opponent has Dragons on the field, but I can turn them into Dragons with a DNA Surgery trap card.
In every duel I struggle to make use of the effect of Buster Blader fusion monster. I can summon this monster to the field very easily with the quick play Buster Blader fusion spell card, which also can be brought very easily from the deck to the hand with Buster Whelp monster effect and from the Graveyard to the hand with its own effect.
Mana Dragon monsters helps me recycle my Spell/Traps.
I usually wait to have these cards in my hand before I attack the opponent: Forbidden Lance and Anti-Magic Arrows."
Note by Heretic:
The Deck is fun to use and destroys most meta Decks like Noble Knights, Desperado, Blue-Eyes and Thunder Dragon. The sphere kuriboh are here to help me set up the destiny draw skill and because i dont use kiteroid in favor of the two Invoked Magellanica. I kept one dark Paladin in case i would face Dark Magician decks and only two Buster Blader the dragon Destroyer (i never did need the third one). Scrap dragon is a Solid synchro monster and i think its the only you gonna need for lvl 8. Karma cut and Floodgate trap hole are in this ratio because that was the best ratio for me, i tried with two of each but i kept breacking.
