When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Destruction Sword" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman". You can only use 1 of the following effects of "Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman" per turn, and only once that turn.● You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Buster Blader" from your hand or Graveyard.● If this card is in your Graveyard and you control "Buster Blader": You can discard 1 "Destruction Sword" card; Special Summon this card.
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that lists "Buster Blader" as Material from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or either side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard; add this card to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Destruction Swordsman Fusion" once per turn.
1 "Buster Blader" + 1 Dragon-Type monsterMust be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card cannot attack directly. This card gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each Dragon-Type monster your opponent controls or is in their Graveyard. Change all Dragon-Type monsters your opponent controls to Defense Position, also Dragon-Type monsters in your opponent's possession cannot activate their effects. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.
"Dark Magician" + "Buster Blader"Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. During either player's turn, when a Spell Card is activated: You can discard 1 card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect. This card gains 500 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster on the field or in either player's Graveyard.
You can Tribute Buster Whelp to Special Summon a Buster Blader from your hand or Graveyard; this effect can Special Summon Buster Blader, the Destruction Master from the Graveyard, since its name is “Buster Blader” while he’s on the field or Graveyard, but not from the hand.
If you control a Buster Blader, you can Special Summon Buster Whelp from the Graveyard by discarding a “Destruction Sword” card, giving you access to the Level 8 Synchros Stardust Dragon. Keep in mind that you can only use one of these last two effects per turn and only once during that turn, which means that you can’t Special Summon a Buster Blader or Buster Blader, the Destruction Master by Tributing Buster Whelp and then Special Summon the Level 1 Tuner from the Graveyard with its effect.
Emblem of Dragon Destroyer offers the possibility of adding a copy of Buster Blader to the hand from your Deck or your Graveyard; the second part prevents it from becoming a dead card once no more copies of the Level 7 Warrior-Type monster are present in your Deck.
Destruction Swordsman Fusion is essentially a Quick-Play version of Polymerization that can only Special Summon Fusion Monsters that specifically list Buster Blader as Fusion Material, meaning Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman and Dark Paladin, but, unlike Polymerization, it allows you to use as Fusion Materials monsters from your hand or either side of the field.
It's pretty clear already that this is an amazing card: it can be searched by Buster Whelp and, if you combine it with DNA Surgery, you can use it to Special Summon Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman while also getting rid of a monster on your opponent's side of the field.
Destruction Swordsman Fusion doesn't target nor destroy, which means that Diamond Core of Koa'ki Meiru—or any other card or effect that would normally protect your opponent’s monsters—will be completely useless against it. Even if your opponent manages to negate Destruction Swordsman Fusion, its secondary effect allows you to add it back to your hand from the Graveyard by simply discarding a card.
Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman and DNA Surgery are a very powerful combination of cards that can essentially shut down a good portion of the current top-tier decks; Buster Blader locks all Dragon-Type monsters on the opponent’s side of the field into Defense Position and prevents them from activating their effects and this Continuous Trap can turn all monsters on the field into Dragon-Type monsters.
Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman gains 1000 ATK and DEF for each Dragon-Type monster the opponent controls or is in their Graveyard, it can’t attack directly, but its effect does give it piercing damage.
Dark Paladin allows you to negate the activation of Spell Cards by discarding a card; this effect is not limited to a “once per turn” use like Wiz, Sage Fur Hire or Silent Magician. You can Special Summon Dark Paladin using either Polymerization or Destruction Swordsman Fusion and King of the Swamp and Buster Blader as Fusion Materials.
Balance Your starting hand will reflect the card balance of your deck. This Skill will not activate unless you have at least 6 of each type of card (Monster, Spell, and Trap) in your Deck.
This Skill will guarantee you an opening hand with at least a Monster, a Spell and a Trap Card. Balance will slightly increase your chances of starting with DNA Surgery.
Dino Survival's End Matchups (Neutral)
DNA Surgery alone can prevent your opponent from activating Survivals End’s effect from the Graveyard, which would make Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman particularly difficult to handle. Unless your opponent is running backrow removal, they will have to rely on Enemy Controller to win.
Vampire decks rely primarily on their Field Spell for removal and, in order to activate its effect, they need to either inflict damage to the opponent’s Life Points with Vampire Lord or, more commonly, activate Vampire Grace’s effect. The combination of Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman and DNA Surgery can almost entirely shut down Vampire decks, potentially preventing them from even using Vampire Familiar and Vampire Retainer’s effect.
Masked HERO Matchup
Masked HERO Anki can’t attack as long as Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman keeps it in Defense Position and Vision HERO Witch Raider can’t get rid of DNA Surgery with its effect either, but Destiny HERO - Decider is enough to prevent any of your high Level monsters from attacking the opponent and Cosmic Cyclone is a fairly common card in Masked HERO decks. Masked HEROes are fast and, thanks to Masked HERO Anki’s ability to search Mask Change from the Deck, they definitely have the upper hand, but I can see Buster Blader winning with the right combination of cards.
Silent Spellbook Matchup (Neutral)
Turning all monsters on the field into Dragon-Type monsters essentially means that a Spellbook player can’t activate some of their most important cards, making their deck significantly less threatening. Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman can freely destroy Silent Magician since its Silent Magician LV8 would just be turned into Defense Position after being Special Summoned, but it’s also true that a Turn 1 Silent Magician can prevent you from activating Destruction Swordsman Fusion and Spellbook of Fate can just banish your main monster.
I personally run the deck with Draw Sense: Light, if brick and dont die first turn you can draw a dragon, which you can use to search the fusion so ypu only need BB or a replacement to whip out big daddy, bonus points if DNA is active, you can also use Cosmic to chunk yourself down to activate it
If you struggle with consistency, try the version with 3 Necro fusion and red-eyed dragon
It does wonders for me.
I can vomit 2 - 3 Buster bladers in several turns with it. Reached EZ KOG this season, Blue eyes match ups are auto win
