How to Use

Genex Undine and Genex Controller

Genex Undine
Genex Undine
WATER Aqua ★3
ATK 1200 / DEF 600
Gaia Genesis [UR]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 WATER monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; add 1 "Genex Controller" from your Deck to your hand.

Lightsworn Engine

The Lightsworn Engine is a good way to setup your graveyard in a 30-card deck. You want to put Thystvern, Smiger, and Rosenix in your graveyard where they can be banished to give you extra resources. Monsters milled by your Lightsworn Engine can be revived and used as Synchro Material with Citree. Sulfefnir can revive itself which combos into Special Summoning a Crystron from your deck. And Crystron Impact in your graveyard can later protect your Crystrons from targeting effects.

Charge of the Light Brigade
Charge of the Light Brigade
Normal Spell
Judgement Force [SR]
Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard; add 1 Level 4 or lower "Lightsworn" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Charge of the Light Brigade is essentially a free search. The milling isn't really a problem for a 30-card deck, and it even helps setup your graveyard. Search Raiden for more on-demand deck milling, or search Lyla for backrow removal.

Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn
Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1000
Judgement Force [SR]
During your Main Phase: You can send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard, then if any "Lightsworn" monsters were sent to the Graveyard by this effect, this card gains 200 ATK until the end of your opponent's turn. You can only use this effect of "Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn" once per turn. Once per turn, during your End Phase: Send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

Raiden is unique among Lightsworn monsters because he lets you mill during the Main Phase. Because you load the graveyard effects during your Main Phase, you can immediately use them to start your combo especially when you mill Thystvern or Sulfefnir. Raiden also has the standard Lightsworn mill effect during the End Phase, letting you prepare graveyard effects for your next turn or mill Crystron Impact for protection.

Being a level-4 Tuner, he can easily make higher level Synchros. Make level-7 Synchros by pairing him with Thystvern, Smiger, or Scrap Recycler.

Crystron Impact

Crystron Impact
Crystron Impact
Normal Trap
Spirit of the Beast [SR]
Target 1 of your banished "Crystron" monsters; Special Summon it, and if you do, if your opponent controls any face-up monsters, change their DEF to 0. During either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, when a card or effect is activated that targets a "Crystron" monster you control: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate that effect.

Crystron Impact allows you to Special Summon 1 of your banished “Crystron” monsters and then it changes the DEF of all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls to 0, making Crystron Ametrix’s effect a lot more valuable. With this we finally have a good search target for Crystron Smiger.

Except for the turn Crystron Impact was sent to the Graveyard, you can banish it from your Graveyard to negate a card or effect that targets a “Crystron” monster you control. This provides good one-time protection giving Crystron Impact some extra utility.

Crystron Thystvern

Crystron Thystvern
Crystron Thystvern
WATER Machine ★3
ATK 1500 / DEF 1500
Spirit of the Beast [SR]
You can target 1 face-up card you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Machine-Type Synchro Monsters, also destroy that card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Crystron" Tuner from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Crystron" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Crystron Thystvern". You can only use 1 "Crystron Thystvern" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Similar to Smiger, Crystron Thystvern will mostly be used for its search effect in order to Special Summon a “Crystron” Tuner from your Deck. Normal Summon Thystvern, destroy it with its own effect to Special Summon Citree. Synchro Summon Ametrix during your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase.

Alternatively, you can banish Thystvern from your Graveyard during your Main Phase and search a “Crystron” monster you need. Search Sulfefnir and Special Summon him, then destroy him with his own effect. Use Sulfefnir's effect to Special Summon Rion to make Powered Inzektron, or Smiger who will then Special Summon Citree to make Ametryx

Deck Cycling

When it’s Normal Summoned, Scrap Recycler allows you to send a Machine-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Normal Summon Scrap Recycler and pitch Crystron Sulfefnir. You can then Special Summon Crystron Sulfefnir from your Graveyard (or your hand, if you open directly with it) in Defense Position by discarding another “Crystron” card. Target Crystron Sulfefnir with its own effect and Special Summon a Crystron Tuner or Crystron Smiger from your Deck.

With only Scrap Recycler on hand and any Crystron card on hand, a full combo would go something like this: Normal Summon Scrap Recycler and pitch Thystvern to the graveyard. Banish Thystvern to search Sulfefnir. Special Summon Sulfefnir by discarding a Crystron card and then destroy Sulfefnir with his own effect. Special Summon Smiger with Sulfefnir's effect and destroy him to Special Summon Citree. On your opponent's turn Citree will then be ready to make Ametryx or Samurai Destroyer.

Scrap Recycler
Scrap Recycler
EARTH Machine ★3
ATK 900 / DEF 1200
Espa Roba [SR]
Special Pack Vol. 02 [SR]
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 Machine-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Once per turn: You can shuffle 2 Level 4 EARTH Machine-Type monsters from your Graveyard into the Deck; draw 1 card.
Crystron Sulfefnir
Crystron Sulfefnir
WATER Machine ★5
ATK 2000 / DEF 1500
Cybernetic Rebellion [UR]
If this card is in your hand or Graveyard: You can discard 1 "Crystron" card, except "Crystron Sulfefnir"; Special Summon this card in Defense Position, then destroy 1 card you control. If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Crystron" monster from your Deck in Defense Position. You can only use each effect of "Crystron Sulfefnir" once per turn.

Main Combo

Crystron Smiger
Crystron Smiger
WATER Machine ★3
ATK 1000 / DEF 1800
Cybernetic Rebellion [SR]
You can target 1 face-up card you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Machine-Type Synchro Monsters, also, destroy that card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Crystron" Tuner from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Crystron" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use 1 "Crystron Smiger" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Crystron Smiger allows you target a face-up card you control, destroy it and then Special Summon a “Crystron” Tuner monster directly from your Deck. You can target Crystron Sminger with its own effect and then Special Summon Crystron Citree. During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, Crystron Citree will allow you to Special Summon a non-Tuner monster from your Graveyard and then Synchro Summon a Machine-Type monster using only the monster you have Special Summoned and Crystron Citree as Synchro Materials. If you Synchro Summon using Crystron Citree’s effect, the Synchro Materials are banished instead of being sent to the Graveyard.

Crystron Citree
Crystron Citree
WATER Machine ★2
ATK 500 / DEF 500
Cybernetic Rebellion [SR]
During your opponent's Main Phase or Battle Phase: You can target 1 non-Tuner monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it, but it has its effects negated (if any), and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Machine-Type Synchro Monster using only that monster and this card (this is a Quick Effect). These Synchro Materials are banished instead of being sent to the Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Crystron Citree" once per turn.

You can use Crystron Citree’s effect to Special Summon Crystron Smiger, Synchro Summon Crystron Ametrix (Level 5) and change all face-up Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls to Defense Position, preventing them from attacking you.

Alternatively, you can use Smiger’s effect to Special Summon Crystron Rion. During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, Crystron Rion will allow you to target one of your banished non-Tuner monsters, Special Summon it and then Synchro Summon a Machine-Type monster using only the monster you have Special Summoned and Crystron Rion as Synchro Materials.

Crystron Quariongandrax

Crystron Quariongandrax
Crystron Quariongandrax
WATER Machine ★9
ATK 3000 / DEF 3000
Cybernetic Rebellion [UR]
2 or more Tuners + 1 non-Tuner monster
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target monsters your opponent controls and/or in their Graveyard, up to the number of Synchro Materials used for the Synchro Summon of this card; banish them. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 banished monster, except this card; Special Summon it to your field.

Quariongandrax is definitely not as easy to bring out as Ametrix, but it’s also the type of card that can completely turn a Duel around. If Quariongandrax is Synchro Summoned, you can target monsters your opponent controls and/or in their Graveyard up to the number of Synchro Materials used for its Synchro Summon and straight out banish them.

Yes, you can get rid of all monsters on your opponent’s side of the field with a single card and then attack them directly for 3000 damage. If that wasn’t fair and balanced enough already if this Synchro Monster is destroyed, you can target a banished monster and Special Summon it to your side of the field. Enjoy taking down your opponent with their own monsters.

Crystron Ametrix
Crystron Ametrix
WATER Machine ★5
ATK 2500 / DEF 1500
Cybernetic Rebellion [R]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can change all face-up Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls to Defense Position. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 "Crystron" monster in your Graveyard, except a Synchro Monster; Special Summon it.

Use Citree plus any level-3 monster to make Ametrix. She is most effective when summoned at the start of your opponent's Battle Phase with Citree's effect. Do this when you see your opponent getting ready for an OTK, effectively ending their turn.

Additionally she floats into a Crystron monster in your graveyard, which is helpful for comeback plays.

Black Rose Dragon
Black Rose Dragon
FIRE Dragon ★7
ATK 2400 / DEF 1800
Blazing Rose [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; change that target to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn.

Make Black Rose Dragon with Citree plus Sulfefnir, or Raiden plus a level-3. Summon it for a field wipe when your field presence is much less than your opponent.

Unfortunately Black Rose Dragon is incompatible with the Crystron Tuners' effects, so you will need to put both synchro materials on the field to make it.

Samurai Destroyer
Samurai Destroyer
EARTH Machine ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 1400
Dark Dimension [R]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
If this card battles an opponent's monster, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step, also that opponent's monster has its effects negated during the Battle Phase only. If this face-up card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect: You can target 1 Machine monster in your GY; Special Summon it.

Use Citree's effect to revive and Synchro Summon with Sulfefnir, or Rion with a banished Rosenix to make Samurai Destroyer.

Samurai is a good offensive option to prevent your opponent from using battle traps. He also negates inherent buffs letting him attack over monsters like Elemental HERO Brave Neos, and negates floating effects to prevent your opponent from gaining resources.

Unlike Ametrix, this floating effect lets you revive any Machine monster in your graveyard even Quariongandrax.

Hi-Speedroid Kendama
Hi-Speedroid Kendama
WIND Machine ★6
ATK 2200 / DEF 1600
Witchs Sorcery [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. You can only use each of the following effects of "Hi-Speedroid Kendama" once per turn.
● You can banish 1 Machine-Type monster from your Graveyard; inflict 500 damage to your opponent.
● If this card is in your Graveyard and you control no cards: You can Special Summon this card. You cannot Normal Summon/Set the turn you activate this effect.

Kendama's pierce and burn effect make him good for pushing damage even though his ATK is kinda low. With the amount of graveyard setup available in this deck, you can use this to burn your opponent to death over time.

The free revival generally makes Kendama quite hard to permanently get rid of, and it can also give you field presence in losing situations. You can make use of this revival after you board wipe with Black Rose Dragon.

The burn and revival effects actually makes Kendama a good turn 1 option to poke your opponent. You can then revive Kendama on your next turn in case it was removed by your opponent.

Powered Inzektron
Powered Inzektron
LIGHT Machine ★6
ATK 2500 / DEF 1600
Secrets of the Ancients [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: This turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects, also you take no damage.

If Ametrix is how you stop an OTK with Citree, Inzektron is how you stop an OTK with Rion. Make Powered Inzektron during your opponent's Battle Phase by using Rion's effect and pairing him with a banished Thystvern. He can be quite hard to get rid of after your opponent has already entered their Battle Phase. You also take no damage so you'll most likely be safe that turn.

This has the added benefit of recovering a banished Thystvern back to your deck. And you can later mill that Thystvern for another search effect.

Skills Suggestion

The Tie that Binds is sort of the most obvious alternative to Beatdown since it’s the only other generic ATK boost Skill we have.

This Skill can be used to thin your Deck, set up the Graveyard and give your Smiger, Thystvern, and Rosenix a face-up card to destroy.

Other Useful Cards

CardExplanation
Machina Fortress
Machina Fortress
Special Summon Machina Fortress from your hand by discarding itself with any another Machine monster. The best monsters to discard for this are Thystvern and Smiger so you can banish them for their search effects, but loading Rosenix or Prasiortle to your graveyard is also good for preparing their graveyard effects.
Mermail Abysspike
Mermail Abysspike
Can load your Crystron monsters in your hand to the graveyard. Then searches Undine or Rion.
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Strong generic level-6 Synchro. Effect cost can be used to your graveyard with Crystron monsters.

IGN: NAthan88_GR, Skill: See You Later!, Date Submitted: July 9

Note by NAthan88_GR:

I was lucky to hit KOG early before it got swarmed with Witchcrafters. This deck fails so much against it. Also Blackwings with Necrovalley. Rest decks are somewhat manageable.

Nobody runs it NOW after the hit. Crystron was one of the most used deck in KCGT, in fact Crystron was the winning deck.

Doesn't matter if people will run it. Just limit those cards first before we collect opinions.

"I am happy to see more cards in the limited list as long as they don't limit the cards that I'm using."
Every player will have this same thought.

I still think that they should create a Limited 10 category and every top 100 most used card should automatically be in this category.

What would a F2P version of this deck look like?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous 14days ago Reply
No F2P version, even the optimal version post banlist barely able to be competitive. I'm not surprised if Crystron demoted from Tier 3 soon unless new support comes in.

Putting both Rion & Impact on semi is too much.

Anonymous 12days ago Reply
Synchro summon during opponent's turn is a NO! Initially people play this deck without Impact. Then when impact comes out in the mini box it dominated the meta. Be happy that people already abused it for months. They need to do something to prevent the meta from becoming stale.

I bet nobody here’s good enough to beat witchcrafter with crystrons, especially madame verre

Crystron was never a popular deck though, it just got a lot of top 100 finishes. The most popular deck right now is DM, and Witchcrafter doesn't have a good match up against it.

The see you later version is same as Gift's deck (top 1 for KCGT), except Powered Inzektron was replaced with Kendama.

One of the reason for See you later skill in the deck is to bounce Inzektron back to xtra deck to use it again to buy another turn.

Admin could have just completely copy the deck and give credit to the deck user/creator.

This deck is the protagonist story, humble beginnings with potential but not quite tiered, over time just gotten slightly better to hang around tier 3 and untiered, eventually positioning itself solidly in T2 and now at its height of power at T1 and winning the KCGT. What a story.

Just curious, why some people use Carbuncle over Tortoise?

Tortoise seems like the better choice because of the stats and if running White Aura Dolphin, it can be an extra fodder for Dolphin's revival effect.

Something I missed about Carbuncle?

Easy KOG with this deck, I only need 50 wins to rank up from platinum, absolutely tier 1 deck with great consistency.

Not even another wave of support could push even a single version of the deck to KOG this month :/
