How to Use

Crystron Tuners

Crystron Tuners are very self sufficient and unconventional. They Special Summon non-Tuners to pair with themselves, but do this during the opponent's turn which can be great disruption with their in-archetype Synchros.

Crystron Citree
Crystron Citree
WATER Machine ★2
ATK 500 / DEF 500
Cybernetic Rebellion [SR]
During your opponent's Main Phase or Battle Phase: You can target 1 non-Tuner monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it, but it has its effects negated (if any), and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Machine-Type Synchro Monster using only that monster and this card (this is a Quick Effect). These Synchro Materials are banished instead of being sent to the Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Crystron Citree" once per turn.

You can use Crystron Citree’s effect to Special Summon Crystron Smiger, Synchro Summon Crystron Ametrix (Level 5) and change all face-up Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls to Defense Position, preventing them from attacking you.

Alternatively, you can use Smiger’s effect to Special Summon Crystron Rion. During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, Crystron Rion will allow you to target one of your banished non-Tuner monsters, Special Summon it and then Synchro Summon a Machine-Type monster using only the monster you have Special Summoned and Crystron Rion as Synchro Materials.

Crystron Rion
Crystron Rion
WATER Machine ★3
ATK 500 / DEF 500
Cybernetic Rebellion [N]
During your opponent's Main Phase or Battle Phase: You can target 1 of your banished non-Tuner monsters; Special Summon it, but it has its effects negated (if any), and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Machine-Type Synchro Monster using only that monster and this card (this is a Quick Effect). These Synchro Materials are shuffled into the Deck instead of being sent to the Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Crystron Rion" once per turn.

Rion, a Level 3 Crystron Tuner that will allows you to pull out 1 banished non-tuner monster and quickly performs Synchro Summon with itself. The Synchro Summon materials will be shuffled back to the deck instead of sent to the Graveyard which makes this card is great against Necrovalley and Sealed Tombs.

Main Core Monsters

Crystron Sulfefnir
Crystron Sulfefnir
WATER Machine ★5
ATK 2000 / DEF 1500
Cybernetic Rebellion [UR]
If this card is in your hand or Graveyard: You can discard 1 "Crystron" card, except "Crystron Sulfefnir"; Special Summon this card in Defense Position, then destroy 1 card you control. If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Crystron" monster from your Deck in Defense Position. You can only use each effect of "Crystron Sulfefnir" once per turn.

Sulfefnir is a combo extender generally played after you search him out with Thystvern. You will usually Special Summon him with his own effect to destroy himself and Special Summon another Crystron from your deck. Because Crystron monsters share the same effect on the field, the one you Special Summon with Sulfefnir will only depend on their graveyard effect or the level of Synchro you want to make. The discard cost when Special Summoning Sulfefnir can load Crystrons from your hand into the graveyard.

Crystron Thystvern
Crystron Thystvern
WATER Machine ★3
ATK 1500 / DEF 1500
Spirit of the Beast [SR]
You can target 1 face-up card you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Machine-Type Synchro Monsters, also destroy that card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Crystron" Tuner from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Crystron" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Crystron Thystvern". You can only use 1 "Crystron Thystvern" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Crystron Thystvern should always be the monster you pitch to the graveyard whenever possible, and you should always banish it from the graveyard to search Sulfefnir (main reason combo)or you can add other Crystron monsters for combo setup regarding the situation. His graveyard effect doesn't restrict you from only Machine-Type Synchro Summon. That means you can Synchro Summon Non-Machine-Type monsters like Samurai Destroyer for monster battle without triggering their effect or Trishula to wipe out your opponent's board.

Crystron Smiger
Crystron Smiger
WATER Machine ★3
ATK 1000 / DEF 1800
Cybernetic Rebellion [SR]
You can target 1 face-up card you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Machine-Type Synchro Monsters, also, destroy that card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Crystron" Tuner from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Crystron" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use 1 "Crystron Smiger" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Crystron Smiger allows you target a face-up card you control, destroy it and then Special Summon a “Crystron” Tuner monster directly from your Deck. You can target Crystron Sminger with its own effect and then Special Summon Crystron Citree. During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, Crystron Citree will allow you to Special Summon a non-Tuner monster from your Graveyard and then Synchro Summon a Machine-Type monster using only the monster you have Special Summoned and Crystron Citree as Synchro Materials. If you Synchro Summon using Crystron Citree’s effect, the Synchro Materials are banished instead of being sent to the Graveyard.

Other Crystrons

The rest of the Crystron non-Tuners are used for level and effect variety. Crystron Prasiortle puts a Crystron on the field to extend combos, and Crystron Rosenix puts a token on the field to destroy with Crystron effects, use as synchro material.

Crystron Rosenix
Crystron Rosenix
WATER Machine ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 1000
Cybernetic Rebellion [R]
You can target 1 face-up card you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Machine-Type Synchro Monsters, also destroy that card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Crystron" Tuner from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Crystron Token" (Machine-Type/WATER/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0), but it cannot be Tributed. You can only use 1 "Crystron Rosenix" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
Crystron Prasiortle
Crystron Prasiortle
WATER Machine ★2
ATK 500 / DEF 2000
Cybernetic Rebellion [N]
You can target 1 face-up card you control; you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Machine-Type Synchro Monsters, also destroy that card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Crystron" Tuner from your Deck. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Crystron" monster from your hand. You can only use 1 "Crystron Prasirator" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Psychic Wheeleder

Psychic Wheeleder
Psychic Wheeleder
EARTH Psychic ★3
ATK 600 / DEF 0
Dimension of the Wizards [UR]
If you control a Level 3 monster other than "Psychic Wheeleder", you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in Defense Position. You can only Special Summon "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn this way. If this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material: You can target 1 monster on the field with less ATK than the Synchro Monster that used this card as material; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn.If you control a Level 3 monster other than "Psychic Wheeleder", you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in Defense Position. You can only Special Summon "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn this way. If this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material: You can target 1 monster on the field with less ATK than the Synchro Monster that used this card as material; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn.

A Level 3 Free Summon Tuner without utilizing normal summon if you control another Level 3 monster on your field. Here is the Synchro Summon Combo that you can perform with this card:

  • Wheeleder + Thystvern / Scrap Recycler / Smiger = Powered Inzektron / Brionac
  • Wheeleder + Rion + Thystvern / Scrap Recycler / Smiger = Quariongandrax
  • Wheeleder + either 2 of these cards (Thystvern / Scrap Recycler / Smiger) = Trishula

Genex Undine + Controller

Genex Undine
Genex Undine
WATER Aqua ★3
ATK 1200 / DEF 600
Selection Box Vol. 03 [UR]
Stardust Acceleration [UR]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 WATER monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; add 1 "Genex Controller" from your Deck to your hand.

Get your plays going by summoning Genex Undine and putting the non-Tuner Crystrons in your graveyard. Crystron non-Tuners have effects that activate in the graveyard, which either give deck searching or field presence. More on the non-Tuners' effects will be explained in the section below, but generally you want to pitch Crystron Thystvern first.

Genex Controller
Genex Controller
DARK Machine ★3
ATK 1400 / DEF 1200
Stardust Acceleration [R]
As a master of all powers and elements, this is one of the few Genex monsters that can communicate with its companions.

Genex Controller can be used as Synchro material, or occasionally as discard fodder to Special Summon Sulfefnir if you don't have non-Tuner Crystrons on hand.

Crystron Impact

Crystron Impact
Crystron Impact
Normal Trap
Spirit of the Beast [SR]
Target 1 of your banished "Crystron" monsters; Special Summon it, and if you do, if your opponent controls any face-up monsters, change their DEF to 0. During either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard, when a card or effect is activated that targets a "Crystron" monster you control: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate that effect.

Crystron Impact allows you to Special Summon 1 of your banished “Crystron” monsters and then it changes the DEF of all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls to 0, making Crystron Ametrix’s effect a lot more valuable. With this we finally have a good search target for Crystron Smiger.

Except for the turn Crystron Impact was sent to the Graveyard, you can banish it from your Graveyard to negate a card or effect that targets a “Crystron” monster you control. This provides good one-time protection giving Crystron Impact some extra utility.

Techs

Mystical Space Typhoon
Mystical Space Typhoon
Quick Spell
Antinomic Theory [UR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [UR]
Target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy that target.

Mystical Space Typhoon allows you to remove a Spell or Trap Card that might be interfering with your plays. It can be especially useful if you're trying to protect a Synchro Monster

Forbidden Lance
Forbidden Lance
Quick Spell
Valhalla Calling [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [UR]
Special Set Bundle Sale [UR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; until the end of this turn, that target loses 800 ATK, but is unaffected by the effects of other Spell/Trap Cards.

Forbidden Lance can protect your monsters from being targeted by opponent's Spell/Trap Cards, while also reducing the ATK of an opponent's monster. This can be particularly helpful if you're trying to set up a strong board and need to protect your monsters from being destroyed by the opponent's effects.

Extra Decks

Trishula, Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Trishula, Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier
WATER Dragon ★11
ATK 2700 / DEF 2000
Stars of Synchro [UR]
1 Tuner + 2+ non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can banish up to 3 cards your opponent controls. If this Synchro Summoned card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card: You can Special Summon 1 "Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" from your Extra Deck or GY, its ATK becomes 3300, then halve the ATK of any face-up monsters your opponent currently controls, also negate their effects. You can only use this effect of "Trishula, Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier" once per turn.

Banish Removal effect with up to 3 cards your opponnet control while this card is Synchro Summoning. Trishula Zero Dragon's floating effect will helps you bring out Trishula Dragon either from your Extra Deck or Graveyard with 3300 ATK stats which can stop your opponent by OTK.

Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
WATER Dragon ★9
ATK 2700 / DEF 2000
Starter/Special Set Bundle Sale [UR]
1 Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can banish up to 1 card each from your opponent's hand, field, and Graveyard. (The card in the hand is chosen at random.)

The effect by banishing 1 card each from your opponent's hand, field, and Graveyard which can easily disrupt your opponent's combo and wipe out their board. Can be revived back as Beater after Trishula Zero Dragon is getting destroyed by opponent's card.

Crystron Quariongandrax
Crystron Quariongandrax
WATER Machine ★9
ATK 3000 / DEF 3000
Cybernetic Rebellion [UR]
2 or more Tuners + 1 non-Tuner monster
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target monsters your opponent controls and/or in their Graveyard, up to the number of Synchro Materials used for the Synchro Summon of this card; banish them. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 banished monster, except this card; Special Summon it to your field.

Quariongandrax is definitely not as easy to bring out as Ametrix, but it’s also the type of card that can completely turn a Duel around. If Quariongandrax is Synchro Summoned, you can target monsters your opponent controls and/or in their Graveyard up to the number of Synchro Materials used for its Synchro Summon and straight out banish them.

Yes, you can get rid of all monsters on your opponent’s side of the field with a single card and then attack them directly for 3000 damage. If that wasn’t fair and balanced enough already if this Synchro Monster is destroyed, you can target a banished monster and Special Summon it to your side of the field. Enjoy taking down your opponent with their own monsters.

Vermillion Dragon Mech
Vermillion Dragon Mech
FIRE Machine ★9
ATK 2700 / DEF 1800
Blazing Rose [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 03 [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn: You can banish 1 Tuner from your hand, field, or Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished Tuners; add it to your hand.

Vermillion Dragon Mech has a powerful effect that can destroy a card on the field by banishing a Tuner from the hand, field, or Graveyard. This can be useful for getting rid of problematic cards such as back-row or monsters with annoying effects. Additionally, if Vermillion Dragon Mech is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard, it can add a banished Tuner to your hand, which can help set up for further Synchro plays.

Coral Dragon
Coral Dragon
WATER Dragon ★6
ATK 2400 / DEF 500
Chronicle of Glory [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. If this Synchro Summoned card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Coral Dragon" once per turn.

Coral Dragon offers a simple targeted removal effect and decent stats. It also gives you a refund on resources when it leaves the field.

Powered Inzektron
Powered Inzektron
LIGHT Machine ★6
ATK 2500 / DEF 1600
Secrets of the Ancients [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: This turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects, also you take no damage.

If Ametrix is how you stop an OTK with Citree, Inzektron is how you stop an OTK with Rion. Make Powered Inzektron during your opponent's Battle Phase by using Rion's effect and pairing him with a banished Thystvern. He can be quite hard to get rid of after your opponent has already entered their Battle Phase. You also take no damage so you'll most likely be safe that turn.

This has the added benefit of recovering a banished Thystvern back to your deck. And you can later mill that Thystvern for another search effect.

Crystron Ametrix
Crystron Ametrix
WATER Machine ★5
ATK 2500 / DEF 1500
Cybernetic Rebellion [R]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can change all face-up Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls to Defense Position. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 "Crystron" monster in your Graveyard, except a Synchro Monster; Special Summon it.

Use Citree plus any level-3 monster to make Ametrix. She is most effective when summoned at the start of your opponent's Battle Phase with Citree's effect. Do this when you see your opponent getting ready for an OTK, effectively ending their turn.

Additionally she floats into a Crystron monster in your graveyard, which is helpful for comeback plays.

Knightmare Phoenix
Knightmare Phoenix
FIRE Fiend
ATK 1900 / DEF 2
Future Circuit [SR]
2 monsters with different names
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy it, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Phoenix" once per turn. Co-linked monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle.

A Link 2 Knightmare Monster owns Backrow Removal Effect by discarding 1 card (this effect can combo with Dotscaper). Phoenix's co-linked effect will allows you to have 1 Card Draw and Battle Destruction Protection.

Other Cards Option

Crystron Quan

Crystron Quan
Crystron Quan
WATER Machine ★1
ATK 500 / DEF 500
Cybernetic Rebellion [N]
During your opponent's Main Phase or Battle Phase: You can Special Summon 1 non-Tuner from your hand, but its effects (if any) are negated, and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Machine-Type Synchro Monster, using that monster and this card only (this is a Quick Effect). You can only use this effect of "Crystron Quon" once per turn.

Quan is not really a bad card, just underwhelming compared to the other Tuners in his archetype. Pair it with Sulfefnir to make level-6s, or with Rosenix to make level-5s.

Crystron Entry

Crystron Entry
Crystron Entry
Normal Trap
Cybernetic Rebellion [N]
Special Summon 2 "Crystron" Tuners (1 from your hand and 1 from your Graveyard). During either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Crystron" monster you control; send 1 "Crystron" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard whose Level is different from that monster, and if you do, that monster becomes the Level of that monster sent to the Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Crystron Entry" once per turn.

Crystron Entry's first effect is for enabling Synchro plays. Simply putting Crystron Tuners on the field is enough to setup a Synchro Summon with their inherent effects. This can also set you up to make Crystron Quariongandrax.

Another way to use the Special Summoned Crystrons is tributing them to Special Summon Citadel Whale, setting up your SSA combo.

The graveyard effect of Crystron Entry lets you adjust a Crystron monster's level for summoning a specific Synchro monster. More importantly this mills a Crystron to your graveyard, setting up Thystvern or Smiger's search effect.

Other Extra Decks

Black Rose Dragon
Black Rose Dragon
FIRE Dragon ★7
ATK 2400 / DEF 1800
Blazing Rose [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; change that target to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn.

Make Black Rose Dragon with Citree plus Sulfefnir, or Raiden plus a level-3. Summon it for a field wipe when your field presence is much less than your opponent.

Unfortunately Black Rose Dragon is incompatible with the Crystron Tuners' effects, so you will need to put both synchro materials on the field to make it.

Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
WATER Sea Serpent ★6
ATK 2300 / DEF 1400
Aerial Assault [UR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
You can discard any number of cards to the GY, then target the same number of cards your opponent controls; return those cards to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" once per turn.

Brionac's mass removal effect is ideal for breaking enemy board setups. It can even be used as a field wipe if you have enough costs on hand.

White Aura Dolphin
White Aura Dolphin
WATER Fish ★6
ATK 2400 / DEF 1000
Cybernetic Rebellion [SR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes half its original ATK until the end of this turn. If this card you control is destroyed by an opponent's card (by battle or card effect) and sent to your GY: You can banish 1 other WATER monster from your GY; Special Summon this card, and if you do, it is treated as a Tuner.

White Aura Dolphin can halve the ATK of enemy monsters for no cost, making even the strongest monsters susceptible to beatdown. For Dolphin's inherent revival effect, you can banish Crystron Monsters since they are all Water-Attribute then you can revive them back with Crystron Impact.

Samurai Destroyer
Samurai Destroyer
EARTH Machine ★7
ATK 2600 / DEF 1400
Dark Dimension [R]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
If this card battles an opponent's monster, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step, also that opponent's monster has its effects negated during the Battle Phase only. If this face-up card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect: You can target 1 Machine monster in your GY; Special Summon it.

Use Citree's effect to revive and Synchro Summon with Sulfefnir, or Rion with a banished Rosenix to make Samurai Destroyer.

Samurai is a good offensive option to prevent your opponent from using battle traps. He also negates inherent buffs letting him attack over monsters like Elemental HERO Brave Neos, and negates floating effects to prevent your opponent from gaining resources.

Unlike Ametrix, this floating effect lets you revive any Machine monster in your graveyard even Quariongandrax.

Abyss Dweller
Abyss Dweller
WATER Sea Serpent ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1400
Photons of Galaxy [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn.

Abyss Dweller is another popular Xyz monster run in Territory of the Sharks Decks. This monster is great at preventing the opponent from using resources from the graveyard.

Make sure to toggle your chain to "ON" instead of "AUTO" then use Abyss Dweller's effect at the start of the opponent's turn for best results.

I dont understand all of you saying crystrons are so popular or so broken. KC report clearly shows that NOBODY uses crystrons. If they were as used as you say they are, Ametrix would be on the list of most used extra deck mons.

And even in the last KC cup where it somehow showed up in the top 100, i neverrrr saw them while dueling in stage 2. Either they’re all just so highly skilled that you don’t encounter any below 20,000 DP, or there actually aren’t a lot of crystron players at all

Consider yourself lucky for not pairing against any of them. Based on the data here, Crystron was the most used deck in the last KC Cup by the top 100. Forget about all the Shinarui abuser. Shiranui just cannot compete at the highest level.

You just don't understand, Crystron is the most expensive deck in the game and you need 30 cards to play it.

Cybernetic Rebellion - All core cards + 3 Sulfefnir 15000 gems
3x Wheeleder - 10000 gems
3x Genex Undine - 15000 gems
2x Thystvern - 7000 gems
and you need 3 Cosmic Cyclone, SSA, Coral Dragon, Black Rose Dragon... Where the hell beginner can get so many gems to invest in 1 single deck?
<< Anonymous

Shiranui is the most popular deck because it is cheap. Yes it is one of the cheapest deck, you only need to dig 2 mini box for all the monsters. Less than 8000 gems to be exact. Then use all your URs & SR dream tickets to get broken traps to complete the deck.

You can only play Crystron if you are a p2w or if you are lucky enough to pull everything you need from a box within your first 30 packs.
