Level 5 Synchro Spam: deck recipe

27th Mini Box: Flames of the Heart
update 21/12/2018

This deck is able to consistently Summon Level 5 Synchros such as Armades, Keeper of Boundaries and Goyo Chaser using Junk Synchron and Mystic Macrocarpa Seed in combination with the Skill What Grows in the Graveyard.

How to Use

Junk Synchron

When Normal Summoned, this Level 3 Tuner allows you Special Summon a Level 2 or lower monster from your Graveyard. Thanks to What Grows in the Graveyard, you will begin the Duel with a copy of Dark Verger in your Graveyard, so Junk Synchron will instantly give you access to your Extra Deck without having to set up first.

Junk Synchron and Dark Verger can be used to Summon any of the Level 5 Synchros in your Extra Deck, but most of the times you will want to directly into Armades, Keeper of Boundaries.

When Armades, Keeper of Boundaries declares an attack, your opponent can’t activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step; cards like Wall of Disruption, Drowning Mirror Force and Sphere Kuriboh are essentially rendered useless by this Level 5 Synchro.

Mystic Macrocarpa Seed

When Normal Summoned, Mystic Macrocarpa Seed will trigger Dark Verger’s effect from the Graveyard and allow you to Special Summon it to your side of the field in Attack Position. Now you have a Level 3 Tuner and a Level 2 non-Tuner, just like with Junk Synchron, but, due to the restriction that Mystic Macrocarpa Seed imposes, you will only be able to Special Summon an EARTH Level 5 Synchro from your Extra Deck.

Most of the times you will want to Summon Goyo Chaser because of its effect, but do keep in mind that Junk Warrior can benefit from having Paleozoic Canadia or Paleozoic Hallucigenia on your side of the field since they are Level 2 monsters; if you Summon Junk Warrior while you control Canadia or Hallucigenia, it will reach 3500 ATK, which is more than enough to get over Masked HERO Anki and Cosmo Brain.

Enemy Controller

A reason why I particularly like Enemy Controller in this deck is Spellbook of Fate: if your Dark Verger is banished as soon as it hits the field, you will get no value out of it and you won’t have access to your Extra Deck for the rest of the duel. You can chain Enemy Controller to Spellbook of Fate and Tribute Dark Verger.

As long as Dark Verger is in your Graveyard and you still have copies of Junk Synchron or Mystic Macrocarpa Seed in your hand or Deck, you will be able to retrieve it, so it’s the best card to use for your aggressive Enemy Controller plays.

Paleozoic Canadia

Paleozoic Canadia needs no introduction at this point: it’s a great Trap Card, it can slow down the opponent and disrupt their plays.

Paleozoic Hallucigenia

Paleozoic Hallucigenia can halve the ATK and DEF of a face-up monster on the field, it can be used during the Damage Step to protect your monsters from an attack or even to allow them to get over an opponent’s monster.

Goyo Chaser synergizes very well with this card because of the fact that, unlike Mirror Wall, it can be used offensively. Just like Paleozoic Canadia, Paleozoic Hallucigenia can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard as a Level 2 monster with 1200 ATK.

Without this Skill this deck would obviously not function as intended, as there aren’t that many reliable ways of getting a Level 2 monster into the Graveyard for Junk Synchron.

This deck is non-compeditive and very expensive.

You should label it, so new players don't spend a ton of diamonds (or worse, UR Dream tickets) trying to build a funsies, gimmick deck.

Lol, it was competitive when it first came out. Junk Synchron + Akiza’s skill was incredibly sought after for a long awhile. You might as well go complain the Ice Barrier decklist from late 2016 isn’t competitive either lmao
Gamea, perhaps the second paragraph on Macrocarpa Seed's part could have been explained or separated more clearly, as right now it sounds as if you tell people that Junk Warrior is somehow an alternative synchro you can summon with Seed besides Goyo Chaser, even though you're well aware it cannot at the start of the paragraph.

Now that you mention it does sound like I'm saying you could Summon Junk Warrior with Macrocarpa. I'm sorry about the ambiguity, I will fix it as soon as I can.

Obviously thank you for bringing it to my attention.
I'm making my first comment on here just to say that calling this deck "Mid-Expensive" is like saying that you're saving money on getting a prostitute instead of a girlfriend.
Do you need her skill or can this deck be played with out it?

Just like all skills, it improves consistency greatly but they are not a must.

If without this skill you need other way to bring out 3* tuner and another 2* non tuner.
This deck is too OP, it allows us to summon Junk Warrior with Seed!
14 staples and you call this a unique deck? Literally put any monsters to replace those 6 and you can win, cause you're opponent can't do anything.
IMO cutting a Goyo for a Stardust Dragon, which you can summon with tuner + any of the level 5 synchros helps solve a lot of those problems like Yubel, Vamp Kingdom, & TTH.

I agree, that's a good idea. It's probably your best out to Yubel, but I don't know how you will be able to Summon a Level 3 Tuner in addition to your Level 5 Synchro. Yubel wipes the board every turn, so you are not going to be able to do that.

You could canadia her and the end of the end phase.
