When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy the Attack Position monster your opponent controls with the highest ATK (your choice, if tied).

Evaluation

Pros

Effectively destroys your opponent’s monster with the highest ATK, if it was in Attack Position when any of your opponent’s monster declares attack.

Cons

Can only be activated during your opponent’s Battle Phase and only when they declare attack.

Tips

All-rounder tech card that can be used in almost any Deck.
It may still be a challenge if you plan to use it together with Treacherous Trap Hole, as you cannot use Treacherous Trap Hole if you have Trap cards in your Graveyard.
This card can be played around by your opponent if they use cards like Hey,Trunade! Or Anti-Magic Arrows to prevent you from activating your backrow when they attack.

so... what happens if, you have 2 monsters in attack, you attack with one who has the lower attack, then widespread ruin activates? does the attack by weaker monster get negated? cause its effect is that it must destroy the stronger attacking monster...

When tied you pick 1 and that 1 is destroyed. No negating or anything else.

I just refuse to remove this card from my deck. So bloody useful, it can single-handedly beat lunalight.

How is this an UR? SRH is a better alternative or Wall of D or even Mirror Wall or even Treacherous trap hole.

This effect can be blocked if a monster sincro was summoned like Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon! =D And he can atack the other player.

Good counters against this? So many abuse this trap in the current event and PvP.

Trap Jammer works perfectly or you could use rose archer, because they don't see that one coming.

Treacherous trap hole has severe limitations, decks with trap hole often have very little to none other trap cards. Block trap hole and you've got free access to attack anything in the coming turns. Sometimes I don't even block it, if it is just removes two lvl 4 monsters. They're either replaceable or revivable from the graveyard.

This card has the same problem that WoD has, very powerful effect but narrow activation timing. You can also scout for it. since there's no delay in the main phase allowing you play around it.

Im starting to think I have some kind of unlimited patience because I dont really hate any trap as most of the commenters here do. Weird. However, canadia seems to be a way more bothering than this one (not that Im asking for any limitation btw, Im just saiyan...)

I got my first one with like 25 packs left. Then got my second 2 packs after the reset. Got my third 7 packs after the reset. The one time I haven't gotten 🔥ed by Konami's Desire Detector.

a good 1 for 1 card that has seen some use in july's king of games lists

Dank Magician

A pretty 🔥ty card, a worse SRH that is slower and doesn't always destroy the card you want. TBH destruction effects are easily preventable in the current meta. It is banishing which is the powerhouse.
