Pros

  • Decent attack
  • Can lock 1 card on enemy spell/trap zone each turn while this card on face up on the field.
  • Its effect might force your opponent to activate the targeted spell/trap.

Cons

  • This card effect will be nullified when this card remove from the field, and its effect is really situational.
  • Defense is pretty low which makes it an easy target when switched to defense position.
  • Even though it has a decent attack, there are still a lot of level 4 or lower monsters that can surpass it.
  • It's not a guarantee lock on the targeted spell/trap. Your opponent can chain the targeted card if he/she can.

Tips

Back row defense

Since Sergeant Electro is susceptible to attacks, it's ideal to have these cards in your back row.

  • Dodge your opponent's attack by switching their monsters to defense position by using Enemy Controller and Security Orb.
  • Once your opponent's monster initiates an attack, use Mirror Wall to decrease its attack by half.

Stats buff

These cards would greatly help Sergeant Electro to make it not susceptible to attacks.

  • You can equip 7 completed to Sergeant Electro since it's a Machine-Type monster. Permanent 700 increase to attack or defense is a great increase in the current meta.

  • Destroy your opponent's monster with a very high attack by equiping Metalmorph. Besides from the 300 boost to its attack and defense, it gains half of the attack of the attack target during the damage calculation.

  • Rare Metalmorph is another card that can only be used to Machine-Type monsters. Activate this card to increase Sergeant Electro's attack by 500. It also has an effect that could negate spells that targets the monster that is affected by Rare Metalmorph's effect.

You're an absolute πŸ”₯tard dude. People who use electro, intentionally use defensive backrow such as SRH, Mirror Wall,e-con, windstorm, WoD to protect it because they already know the other player wants to destroy it.

summon a stronger monster and attack it while activating anti-magic arrows as a quick play during the start of the battle step.
It gets the opponent by surprise and they won't be able to activate any defensive traps/spells in response to it.

Is it worth it to buy this box for this card? Or other box like Generation Next and Servants of Kings are better in terms of future potential? I'm f2p

Hard to tell how the meta will change. Sergent Electro is a good card to add in a lot of decks with the current meta (Horus, Control, Ancient Gear). But you need at the very least two of them + good trap / spell to protect it (Wall of Disruption, eCon, Mirror Wall, Floodgate Trap Hole)

This card is still good. Despite the age of the box, sgt electro is still one of the better cards out there. but imo flame of the tyrant is a not a good box these days due to many of the regular cards being rather weak and outdated. Mirage dragon is a cheaper alternative if you want, but not as good as electro.

The problem with this card is not the effect itself. The problem is that it's ONCE PER TURN. This card, along with the powerful backrow rn (hello, mirror and headlong) to protect it and guarantee it stays on the field, locks most of your spells and traps by your opponent's third turn. If it only locked once, I would not have any issues with Sergeant.

I must admit that this card is very frustrating but I will not ask for nerf as Konami do not nerf any SR/UR cards ... please do not be very stupid like those who ask for nerfing every good card !!

Yeah, tired of seeing my opponent running 3 of these bastards. I don't know why I'm playing when people are running the most broken decks that just auto πŸ”₯ monsters once per turn or lock my spells/traps each turn so easily.

Floodgate Japcockass
This card + modded apk is the bane of me.

It is so obvious that these Japanese players use modded apks to see my set cards when they don't use Mind Scan but flawlessly pick my Floodgate every single time. They never pick anything else weaker.

Yes, limit every good cards especially if you loss to it. Ban all the skills, ban every players who won against you and call them cheaters. Good job, then people will uninstall the game cuz too much kids complaining without thinking twice (or without thinking first).
