  • Decent attack
  • Can lock 1 card on enemy spell/trap zone each turn while this card on face up on the field.
  • Its effect might force your opponent to activate the targeted spell/trap.


  • This card effect will be nullified when this card remove from the field, and its effect is really situational.
  • Defense is pretty low which makes it an easy target when switched to defense position.
  • Even though it has a decent attack, there are still a lot of level 4 or lower monsters that can surpass it.
  • It's not a guarantee lock on the targeted spell/trap. Your opponent can chain the targeted card if he/she can.


Back row defense

Since Sergeant Electro is susceptible to attacks, it's ideal to have these cards in your back row.

  • Dodge your opponent's attack by switching their monsters to defense position by using Enemy Controller and Security Orb.
  • Once your opponent's monster initiates an attack, use Mirror Wall to decrease its attack by half.

Stats buff

These cards would greatly help Sergeant Electro to make it not susceptible to attacks.

  • You can equip 7 completed to Sergeant Electro since it's a Machine-Type monster. Permanent 700 increase to attack or defense is a great increase in the current meta.

  • Destroy your opponent's monster with a very high attack by equiping Metalmorph. Besides from the 300 boost to its attack and defense, it gains half of the attack of the attack target during the damage calculation.

  • Rare Metalmorph is another card that can only be used to Machine-Type monsters. Activate this card to increase Sergeant Electro's attack by 500. It also has an effect that could negate spells that targets the monster that is affected by Rare Metalmorph's effect.

extremely underrated card
The rating should really be higher, at least 8, because the effect is not really situational since everyone uses facedown spells/traps in this game format.

Excellent card in my Machine Deck. Baiting or denying spells and traps is invaluable in at the moment.

I kind of underrated and didn't bother about this card at first, but after getting my first copy it immediately showed results on Ranked and I ended up getting another one. This thing puts in a lot of work for beatdown decks with the meta so heavy with Etaqua/Controller/Mirror Wall backrows.
This bastard is extremely strong. It fucked up my "des counterblow" deck countless times.
Nowadays I see people got really fearful of seargent. The min I summon him, they activate their spell/traps before I use seargent's effect. Thats so hillarious.
Lmao I have absolutely no idea how Electro's effect can be labeled as "situational" when the meta is incredibly backrow heavy. Protecting it is also pretty easy with Windstorm, Econ, Kuriboh, etc.

You know this site has laughable rankings when Sergeant Electro is a 6.5/10 but Riryoku is a 9.5/10

The meta changes frequently and I guess it isn't updated. I personally think Sergeant Electro is one of the best monsters in the game for this current meta game where backrow is the key factor to success. Riryoku in my opinion isn't really as good anymore because you're likely just going to get stunned in some way when trying to make an offensive push. I find the ratings to be laughable

I don't think either of the rankings can really be justified as the "meta changing too frequently." Sergeant Electro has been an insanely good monster since it came out and I can't remember a time when Riryoku was good outside of farming. If you want a way to boost your attack Metalmorph is simply the better option in 99% of scenarios, while also being easy to obtain from leveling Keith.
Rating way way too low.

so can anyone tell me if this card is really a great addition to a potential machine deck? is it worth it to get multiples, or nah?

If you can get 3 get 3 card is really strong and in a Sleight of Hand Deck it becomes even better
How does this card works? Do I activate the effect and the face down card cannot be activated ever again? I'm pretty sure it works like harpie ground when you try to target the face down card it can still be activated that turn.

it states "while this card is on the field" so once electro is destroyed, the effect goes away. after the effect resolves, the card can no longer be activated until he leaves
