Fusion Summon

• Fusion summon is conducted to summon fusion monsters.

• Fusion material monster cards and specific spell cards, such as Polymerization, are required to play fusion summon.

• Fusion monsters are placed in the extra deck.

• Fusion monsters list fusion materials for itself on their texts. For example, the card "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon requires three Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards.

• Generally, player have to collect fusion material monsters in their hand or on the field.

• For example, Elemental HERO Avian and Elemental HERO Burstinatrix are the materials for Elemental HERO Flame Wingman.

Once players have collected all the fusion materials, they play a summoning card.

Before summoning a fusion monster from the extra deck, players have to put materials monsters to the graveyard.

Now players can play a fusion monster from the extra deck to the field.

There are some exceptions along fusion summons. Here are two examples of those.

Dragon's mirror is a fusion-summoning spell card like Polymerization. However, players pick fusion materials from the field or the graveyard and put those materials to the banished zone instead of the graveyard. The spell card can be used for only summoning a dragon-type fusion monster.

To summon the monster from the extra deck, players do not have to use summoning card, such as Polymerization due to the effect of the card itself. The fusion monster allow a player to summon itself by picking required fusion materials from the field and put to the banished zone.
