During your Battle Step, if this card attacks a Defense Position monster: You can activate this effect; this card loses exactly 400 ATK, and if it does, it will inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. These effects last until the End Phase.
Its effect of losing 400 ATK when attacking Defense position monsters is optional, providing good flexibility.
The effect of losing 400 ATK in order to inflict piercing damage to defense position monsters may result in you attacking into monsters with higher Defense than your Attack.
During your Main Phase, you may flip your Curse of Anubis before you Summon Exarion Universe, to switch your opponent’s Effect monsters into Defense mode, and their Defense is 0 until the end of your turn, therefore your Exarion Universe is guaranteed to deal massive damage should your attack goes through.
If you have other Beast-Warrior monsters, during your Battle Phase, you can play around cards like Wall of Disruption, Mirror Wall that are designed to greatly lower your monsters Attack, by chaining Beast Rising to your opponent’s Wall of Disruption/ Mirror Wall, in order to banish your attacking Beast-Warrior monsters and grant its ATK to your other Beast-Warrior monster, before your monster’s attack lands on your opponent’s monster to avoid Life Points damage.
It is strongly encouraged for Beast-Warrior decks to include tech cards like Anti-Magic Arrows and Fire Formation - Gyokkou to reduce the probability of opponent jeopardizing your monsters’ attacks.
Having this monster on the field will protect all your Beast-Warrior type monsters from opponent’s card effects.
You can use Beast Rising to further amplify Exarion Universe’s Attack, while at the same time play around your opponent’s face-down Spell/Traps that attempts to hinder your Beast-Warrior’s attack. Wild Nature’s Release further augments Exarion Universe’s Attack greatly, since Exarion Universe’s DEF stats is high, but using this card will destroy Exarion Universe at your End Phase, therefore make sure you have tech cards like Fire Formation - Gyokkou or Anti-Magic Arrows to ensure your attack goes through. Fire Formation - Gyokkou locks down opponent’s face-down Spell/Trap and at the same time provide slight boost to Exarion Universe’s Attack, and Fire Formation - Tensu will allow you an additional Normal Summon of another Beast-Warrior monster, once per turn, at the same time provide slight boost to Exarion Universe’s Attack.
These are the cards that will switch your opponent’s monsters into defense mode, which will allow your Exarion Universe to inflict piercing damage while destroying that monster. Anti-Magic Arrows is a great tech card for Beast-Warrior decks, should you are not using Fire Formation - Gyokkou, as a safety measure for your attacks to go through.
I used this card with this deck: Exarion (2x) Bazoo S eater (1) wrecker panda(1)des Kangaroo (2x) Mist Valley Executioner(1) Two thousand Needles(1x) Caribou Mystical animal of the Forest..Kunai with chain,Spike n shield,Anti magic arrows,Econ,Zing Xang Hu,vampire koala, desmanian devil, beast rising and a few other cards
This card has a good synergy with spike shield which profits from high attack and high defense. potential for surprise otk
What rest of the duel? You already win from a 10000 battle damage.
Konami keep releasing beast/beast-warrior support so Beast Rising would be viable. Too bad lots of dumb people prefer anti-fun deck like CA/AG, you people should be ashamed. Been using Beast Rising since the card released and the highest tier I could hit were only Legend 3 though (no hazy).
Is there any meta dragon deck? No. Both Blue Eyes and vanilla Red Eyes became useless without 3 Champions' Vigilance (RE Zombie isn't a dragon). It is true that they have tons of summoning methods, but they can't protect themselves, except for Horus and Mirage. The Armed Dragons are quite irrelevant as of now because you can only get 1 copy of lv7. They're outclassed and we need more of them.
Not to mention that something Dragons lack are good Low-level beaters as of now. The highest attack between low level dragons without crippling effects is 1700, the only exception being the Wyvern. RE Wyvern and Spear Dragon are UR cards from boxes, and Spear's effect is bad. Cave Dragon is a one-of-a-kind with a horrible effect. Mirage Dragon has a mediocre attack.
