Tiki Control: deck recipe

update 10/05/2019

Overview

Trap Monsters are a particular type of Continuous Traps that are Special Summoned from the Spell & Trap Zone to the Monster Zone. This is a Control Deck that revolves around various Trap Monsters such as Tiki Soul, Tiki Curse and the newly added Statue of Anguish Pattern.

How to Use

Statue of Anguish Pattern

You can Special Summon Statue of Anguish Pattern as an Effect Monster with 0 ATK and 2500 DEF. While you control another Trap Monster (Tiki Soul, Tiki Curse, Cyber Shadow Gardna or even another copy of Statue of Anguish Pattern), Statue of Anguish Pattern cannot be targeted by your opponent’s card effects and, if a card is Special Summoned from your Spell & Trap Zone to the Monster Zone, you can target a card on the field and destroy it. Although it would be nice to be able to destroy two cards on your opponent’s side of the field at once, controlling two copies of Statue of Anguish Pattern can actually be detrimental since it has no ATK at all. Always keep in mind that you have only three Monster Card Zones and three Spell & Trap Card Zones.

Tiki Soul

You can Special Summon Tiki Soul as an Effect Monster with 1000 ATK and 1800 DEF. While this card is a monster, if another Trap Monster you control would be destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard, you can Set it in the Spell & Trap Card Zone instead. You will not be able to activate your Trap Card right away, unless you are playing Temple of the Kings, and, unless you are controlling another copy of Tiki Soul, your opponent can just attack this card and destroy it to get around its effect, but being able to activate a Trap Card multiple times will give Chain Reaction more value.

Tiki Curse

You can Special Summon Tiki Curse as an Effect Monster with 1800 ATK and 1000 DEF. While Tiki Curse is a monster, if another Trap Monster battles an opponent's monster, after damage calculation, the opponent’s monster is destroyed. Just like with Tiki Soul, unless you control another copy of Tiki Curse, your opponent can just attack Tiki Curse and destroy it to get around its effect, but, if you control both Tiki Curse and Tiki Soul, you will be able to Set it and play it again on your next turn. As you can already tell, in order for this deck to function properly you will need multiple Trap Monsters on the field at once, which will take up both your Monster Zone and your Spell & Trap Zone entirely.

Cyber Shadow Gardna

You can Special Summon Cyber Shadow Gardna during your opponent’s Main Phase as an Effect Monster. If Cyber Shadow Gardna is attacked by an opponent’s monster, its ATK and DEF become equal to the ATK and DEF of that monster. Cyber Shadow Gardna functions very well in combination with Tiki Soul, but, if you controlled both of these cards, your opponent would realistically have no reason not to attack Tiki Soul before getting rid of Cyber Shadow Gardna.

Odion
Odion

Cyber Shadow Gardna and Statue of Anguish Pattern are unable to deal damage to your opponent and both Tiki Soul and Tiki Curse have pretty unimpressive stats, so you need an alternative way of decreasing their Life Points.

Weaknesses

  • The activation of your Trap Cards can be negated by Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En. Lava Golem and Karakuri Ninja mdl 339 “Sazank” are here to get rid of Shi En and allow your Continuous Traps to resolve.
  • As I said, your Trap Monsters’ stats are pretty unimpressive and they can easily take up your entire field: a single Wall of Disruption can pretty much end the game for you.
  • Even if you get a combination of your Trap Monsters on the field at once, your opponent can just Tribute them to Summon Lava Golem.
  • Although you still have ways of getting rid of it, Jinzo does give this deck a lot of trouble.

Meta? No way. But it makes the deck better and it might become a decent rogue tier deck.

What piss me off more is, I just deleted all of my trap monsters a week ago. And now they get support now. Like wtf! I'm still good they will be no gem knight support. At least I got rid of spirit monsters. They will never be KOG! LOL

Never remove your cards. Always have at least 3 copies of a card if possible. This is one of the most stupidest things I ever read to date. Brainless idiot.

Can someone help me understand how Sazank fits into this deck?

Ah okay got it in case they don't put enough creatures down to lava golem. Jinzo would just straight up rekt this deck though if the managed to summon it. Back row would just be clogged up. You think Uria would be a good card to add to this deck?

Uria is Good, but frankly only as a finisher I think (in case you want to look cool).

Personally, I would keep the field presence with all the Tikis & Anguish.

The downside of summoning Uria is, you lost 3 of your traps and cards like Canadia, Floodgate & Sphere Kuriboh is common in DL which can punish Uria easily.

I see what you mean. I'm just trying think of a way to unclog the back row if Jinzo is out on the field. I noticed Jinzo would clog up Odion's back row once he hits the field when I was farming him. I don't know if there are monster cards that can unclog your own back row.

In that case, I think Witch Raider is probably better as she destroys opponent's S/T and have OK DEF value.

She have enough ATK to surpass the Jinzo that clogs your S/T zone.

And she also only needs 2 trap/monster to bring out, whereas Uria specifically need 3 traps-only and it must be face up.

Anguish pattern is going to drive some dudes nuts lol, anyway, I don't think this deck is bad. Weevil is a bit more annoying, but both decks are pretty much beatable anyway, at least to me.

That's untrue. I've spent a whole 3 bucks on this game (a second Destiny HERO deck, though I'm probably dropping another 20ish for the second/third Neos decks), and have full Bujin, Batteryman and Buster Blader decks, among others. It just comes down to how you spend the gems you get. Mini-boxes in particular are really easy to get 3 copies of a card from.

Ironically a real-money-paying-guy came here to talk about what is a budget deck. LOL

3 dollars dude. 3! Anyone spends 1/3 dollars not to take advantage of an offer, but to have a receipt to show in case you had problems with your account. A one-time deal doesn't exclude you from being f2p.

The irony is that I barely made use of the cards from that 3 dollar spend. I didn't heavily invest in HERO (didn't go for multiple Anki) and quickly dropped it for Amazoness, and then Batterymen when they got hit. My current main deck's Buster Blader, but I plan on switching to Neos/Bujin when I get the second/third copies of the deck. Still never bought packs, nor plan to.

Wait... Where is 3x Neos Fusion???

Outside of mirror force and it's other counterparts, this card is also one of the best traps...
They should release this card but make it so that you can only activate it once per week per acco...
Noah is in the game. But you have to unlock Atticus (GX) first before you can unlock him.
