Marik Ishtar

Overview

Marik Ishtar is a character that's suspected to be coming soon. There are several files found in the game showing a character selection icon, and a player profile icon. Similar to Yugi Muto, he has an alter ego called Yami Marik. His Yami version is more likely to be an unlockable character to avoid having 2 of the same character. Marik Ishtar might make an appearance through a mini event just like the Yugi Muto event.

Cards

Based on the anime, Marik Ishtar takes control of other people and use their decks to duel and does not duel himself, unless he is in his Yami Marik form. If he were to appear, he could be bringing other gravekeeper monsters like Gravekeeper's Descendant, similar to Ishizu and Odion's duel rewards.

Because it was in a Selection Box. Once it's added to a proper box, it will definitely become a meta deck. Not tier 0-1 meta, but meta nonetheless.

Nah. Dian, offerings, and sangan were all originally from selection boxes and they were used quite frequently even before they were officially released. Doubt necrovally would be widely used, maybe only as a 1 card tech option

I'd actually legitimately rather Roland than Marik. It'd give them an excuse to give us more Kaiba cards, and maybe we'd finally get Dragon Master Knight. (He uses it in a few video games.)

Unless Konami decided to never do Duelist Chronicle Battle City ever again, regular Marik's images are definitely is still in the game.

....Just the images, though. Not sure about any other data.

That makes sense the most, actually.

Also Konami really should give his sister Gravekeeper's Visionary summoning animation.

Some people say he wasn't that relevant and that he barely dueled. But honestly, I don't think he is a bad character at all, they are going to make Umbra & Lumis playabale and they only dueled once. ^^ not that it matters, really. They are good characters.

If you go back in time far enough, he is in a lot of the older yugioh games like Eternal Duelist Soul, The Sacred Cards, World Championships, etc.

I wouldn't hate it at all if he came with a gravekeeper set we could unlock. That deck is pretty much unusable since no one has Necrovalley anymore.

It's likely we're getting a box with Gravekeeper stuff in it in the nearish future anyway. They need to mass-release Necrovalley regardless, and even the RL Speed Duels have a couple of Gravekeeper cards we lack. (And are getting more soon.)

Dudes... Necrovalley will never come to duel links because such card is even considered as "Broken" in the actual TCG.

The only way Necrovalley could be played in duel links is as a skill.

"From the 5th turn and onwards you can play Necrovalley in the field". - Something like that.
