Pros

  • Can protect any card you control from destruction.

Cons

  • Can be costly to summon.
  • Does not protect against other forms of removal.

Tips

Stardust Support

Stardust Synchro monsters have a bunch of support. Stardust Re-Spark and Necroid Synchro can summon them from the extra deck, Stardust Shimmer and Stardust Flash for revival, and Cosmic Flare and Shooting Star as removal options.

Toon

Toon decks rely on having Toon World/Toon Kingdom on the field to function properly. Stardust Spark Dragon can protect Toon World/Toon Kingdom from removal while also being a decent beater.

Prevent Self Destruction

Stardust Spark Dragon can prevent your monsters from destroying themselves. Stardust Dragon can use his effect to protect a monster and then you can target that same monster with Scrap Dragon’s effect. You can also use Stardust Spark Dragon to protect an important card from a field wipe effect like Black Rose Dragon.

Very decent

You can just put them in Defence mode, always use their effect on themselves and deck your opponent out. Without piercing, a D/D banishing card or Dark Core, you'll win.

Or, use this card alongside Power of the Guardians. PotG protects this card, this card protects PotG.

Then your opponent will use Cosmic Cyclone and destroy Stardust Spark Dragon.

OP's strategy is much better but almost any deck runs a non-destruction removal cards nowadays.

Most decks do run non-destruction removal, but it's usually Drowning Mirror Force and Dimensional Prison. If you're not attacking, you're most likely safe.

Lancea stops your opponent's Cosmic Cyclone.

Wow, this card is simple amazing.
It will be fairly competitive, I think synchros are starting to become meta.

It looks better than the OG Stardust given the current Duel Links climate.

just 2500 ATK?! well, at least you can prevent quintet magician from wipe your field.

This is a manga counterpart of the original Stardust, of course it only has 2500 ATK as well.

This isn't an Stardust upgrade form, it's the manga version.

You want upgrade for this card, wait until we get Sifr and Chronicle.

Brutal card

I hate these manga versions of the signer dragons. If they had made them each "This card's name is always treated as Stardust Dragon" etc it would have given you two options depending on situation and still be able to use their counterparts' support. What a waste.

That's why all Stardust Dragon support card, only uses "Stardust" as the archetype name. So that you can use the support cards with this card as well, since this card is a "Stardust" monster too.

And there's also all the "Level 7 or 8 Dragon-Type Synchro monster" supports geared for the Signer and Duel Dragons.

*well, most. Almost forgot Starlight Road specifically says Stardust Dragon.

Stardust Re-Sparked is not specific and it's arguably better (negate attack, summon stardust monster from extra)
Sad that Spark can't use starlight, but not the end of the world.
